Chapter 137
Aceco's brow furrowed in concern after Rhett said he needed her take. "What troubles you, Rhett?" she asked with a gentle voice. "Tell me, what is it you wished to speak of?"
Rhett hesitated, his gaze flickering around the moonlit clearing. Finally, he met Aceco's eyes with a deep sigh escaping his lips. "I need you to be unbiased, Aceco. But I know that's very possible since the fey don't lie." A wry smile touched his lips. "That's precisely why I'm confiding in you."
Aceco fluttered her wings like a reassuring gesture for Rhett. "Speak what's in your heart, Rhett. Remember, I am a fairy, and truth is the very essence of my being. There's no bias in the heart of a fairy."
Rhett nodded and his jaw tightened. "That's exactly why I'm confiding in you," He admitted. "What I'm about to say goes against everything we know about the fey being peaceful creatures. And what Cora just did only reinforces that."
