Chapter 14 Blood is Exchanged for Territory and Power

"Wow, this kingdom is not what I imagined." Arzan didn't blink in awe at anything in front of her, her mouth open enough to accommodate several insects.

"Huh! Meh!" Arzan spat out whatever came into her mouth, disgusting knowing it was an insect.

"Don't make a stupid face."

"I swear I will kill you." Arzan developed another level of irritation towards Ain since she found her mate.

Staring at the person in disgust, she didn't miss catching the insect and making sure to kill it.

"Give me that thing." Arzan followed Azza's words after feeling it was enough to make the insect not move, almost destroying the body.

"Damn, you're strong."

Everyone's attention was focused on the vampire growling, putting on real resistance.

Azza hissed in front of Arzan while Ain was in front of Ades protecting her from any harm.

"Please come in." The snorting vampire clicked his tongue, stepped aside to give Arzan's group plenty of room to advance. "It is a great honor to invite you here, let me take you to meet the King."

Arzan looked to the left to find another vampire hiding behind a pillar. "Oh Alaric."

It wasn't Arzan who said that, it originated from Ades indirectly showed off her amazing instincts. Arzan was struck by unnatural jealousy again and this time she didn't hide it. Scratching her head she smiled awkwardly. "Ah, you saw it too."

Ain frowned, two eyebrows knitted together ending the interaction, inviting people to move. "Let's go." He turned to vampires. "Thank you for the welcome."

Ain held Ades' hand pulled her behind him. Azza didn't do that, allowing Arzan to walk first. The two stared at each other for a moment before leaving.

"Thank you for accepting our invitation, diversity of species."

Arzan tilted her head to process the king's words, who smiled kindly, looking kind and caring.

"Sorry for my bluntness, His Majesty, but where is King Charlie?"

"Ah, they're there."

The four of them looked in the indicated direction of the vampire king and found King Charlie along with Elios sitting relaxed in a luxurious chair that was intended for the nobles who ruled the kingdom.

"His Majesty."

King Charlie raised his hand looked at Ain without blinking, his face was calm so that Ain felt like he knew enough that his king was good.

Arzan looked in all directions.

"Where is Zenit?"

It wasn't Arzan who asked that, but rather Ades who received a chuckle from the vampire king. "He still has personal matters, he'll come later."

"Besides, since everyone is here how about we negotiate? I've been looking forward to this for a long time."

"What does it mean?" Azza is sick of being silent, in his brain he suspects that something bad will happen regarding Arzan because she is the gate in and out of the whole world.

"Don't worry Griffin, I won't do anything bad, this is a kind of negotiation to achieve mutual interests. I can make sure each of us gets equal rights."

Arzan held Azza's hand, next to them Ades pouted and Ain hissed. Ain's mood wasn't bad just because of the king's diplomatic words.

"Let's see if the negotiations work."

Ain looked around, noticed the bright decorations of the vampire palace, more accurately called the rainbow palace judging from the various colors used very nicely.

They headed to a large room where they could negotiate. Azza let go of his hand and glanced at Arzan, confident that she was still under his supervision.

"The Feir Scripture contains important information, we will not give it to anyone."

"A vampire with a gene mutation," Ain said he was testing whether the information they got was true or false.

The vampire king's smile slowly disappeared, replaced by a tense jaw, slightly annoyed at Ain's audacity and how easily they found ancient books.

"No."

"Real? But we found it. The gene mutation occurred naturally or was it done on purpose?" Arzan snorted as he twirled eyes lazily then groaned so that Azza pinched her waist.

"Which one of you opened the gate?"

"That's me."

The entire species saw Ades raise her hand while smiling faintly at the people as flat as a wall. Arzan grinned at her boldness.

"That's right, she's the one." Arzan also supports it.

Neither the vampire king nor the king of the human kingdom moved, Arzan only raised an eyebrow when she saw King Charlie's jaw harden.

"You?" The vampire king's eyebrows dipped sharply, starting to assess Ades from top to bottom, then ended with a snort. "You're more like a normal human, opening a world gate seems excessive."

"But I can do this."

Every eye people was almost about to pop out of place, not far from them Ades grinned showing fangs similar to a softer version of vampires. She licked her fangs raising her hand making the cup of luxurious drink fly.

The vampire king was clearly affected by violating the safe boundaries of invading Ades' personal space. "Come with me."

The vampire king would almost have grabbed Ades' hand if Ain hadn't pulled Ades, it wasn't Ain's intention to pull Ades into his arms but if it meant being able to protect him then Ain didn't feel anything wrong.

A very unpleasant reaction appeared when the vampire king and King Charlie exchanged sharp glances which at any time could turn the atmosphere of negotiations into war.

In the end, the vampire king gave up first. His shoulders and jaw began to relax, taking a dramatic deep breath.

"We'll prove it later. King Charlie, what submission do you want?"

"You said you wanted an occasional supply of blood to supplement the variety of consumption. The fairest thing for me to take would be some of your territory and some of the vampire troops under my command."

Arzan did not suspect that King Charlie's desire to control the land of each world was so great, the exchange value for his agreement was unfair, not based on normal human principles.

"Don't worry, but first I want the witch's blood which is there."

Arzan almost spat out water. By the way, Arzan and Ades had examined the drink to ensure that there were no poisons or harmful substances.

"How you think Ain?" the King asked.

Ain rolled his eyes lazily. "Whatever, now let's discuss how much blood they want."

Arzan and Ades looked at each other out of the corners of their eyes, both disgusted unable to stand such disgusting negotiations but still keeping their mouths shut.

***

"Where do you want to go?"

Arzan was shocked. Ain exhaled on her left cheek, smiling in a silly, annoying way that would irritate other people.

"Why are you here?"

"Ever since you snuck in, I don't know what happened but I was pushed here. Maybe because of our contract." Ain snorted, occasionally grimacing, not in the best condition. Arzan saw that the man's wrist was wrapped in bandages.

"Ah you're seeing bad, you should go rest."

"I want to follow you." Arzan knows Ain is annoying and it turns out he is also stubborn.

Arzan shrugged indifferently, returning to her thing.

"I smell delicious blood."

Arzan reflexively held Ain's bandaged hand, the smell of blood faded as his fingers rubbed the wound in the best, most comfortable, and safest way so that instead of wincing in pain, Ain let out a satisfied, almost snoring sigh.

"Nothing, let's go."

Two vampire warriors move away.

"How do you disguise your smell? You are more than the key to the world's gates?"

Ain focused notice on Arzan, leaving no breathing room.
