My last meeting completed, my work done, summer calls. Of course, I’m on call for the unforeseen and my mind is reeling with the possibilities presented by Haswell’s offer to ‘let my imagination fly’….

Talk about a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity….

Nonetheless, a safe base for the bridge foundations has been finally located. The first pilings are going in right now and everything is going as planned and on schedule. And for all my annoyance at Daniel’s parting shot when he visited us, I have no doubts as to his competence on the ground for handling his end of the work.

Weeks of freedom….

Will she be waiting?

Charlotte knows this should be my last main day of working.

Hope this ‘beach house’ is alright….

“That’s it! Freedom for the summer,” I announce as I enter the apartment.

And yes, she’s here and…. expecting me…. She looks demure, her gaze cast down, but there’s a sparkle of mischief there as she looks at me from under her lashes.
