Chapter 7: Join Our Fight

(MC pov)

Even though the Ancient One shouldn't do anything to the lil' old me, but I still had some instinctual fear for her, which is why I mouthed out an awkward 'thank you' before trying to move on. So without trying to move around the bush, I asked directly :

"Well, Ms Ancient One, you should know why we came here, right?"

I opened the subject on this question, because while I was almost certain that she indeed knew, but I read too much novels and fanfic and novel where a supposed seer couldn't see the future because of the arrival of the protagonist. Because of that, I had to ask, so we could be on the same page.

Furthermore with this question, I will also know if she still had the power to see into the future.

For me it would be great if she couldn't do that anymore, otherwise I would just try to avoid her as much as possible in the future. Even though by the look she was giving me, it shouldn't be possible.

"You are here to find a way to go to the Limbo dimension and save your, right?"

...Limbo?

"Wait, weren't they teleported in..." I started, but hesitate to continue, because I didn't want to shock Ava and that Luke guy from my guesses.

"You mean in Hell ?" Finished the Ancient One, who didn't have as many concern as I had. But as I guessed, it did shock them quite a bit.

"What do you mean by, they were teleported to hell?" Asked Luke Cage with a dark face as his voice get dangerously low.

"When you say hell, is it the same Hell we're thinking about? Statan, demons, the Bible? That kind of Hell?!" Added Ava with an unbelievable look on her face.

Truthfully, I didn't want to explain to them the hell theory, because I didn't really know much myself about Hell from Marvel. Furthermore the Ancient One just told us that they where in a completely different dimension. And while I didn't know what kind of dimension was the Limbo, it wasn't hell, and for me that was already enough good news.

But obviously after seeing the face of my two companions, I didn't need the power of a seer tosee that they wouldn't let that pass until I gave them some explanations.

"Well, before coming here, I scan the whole bar to know where they where teleported to, and based on the residual aura on this girl and inside the bar... I theorized that...they ended up in Hell. Fortunately, from what Ancient One said, they are not!"

I hoped that my last sentence would have made them forget my explanation magically. Unfortunately, it wasn't the case. Because the next moment, Luke Cage suddenly stood up while looking at me furiously.

"So, just to be clear with each other Green Lantern : YOU, thought that MY wife, AND your friends, where in Hell? A place full of torture and demons? Something I didn't think existed, and your friend over there had no clue either, but you knew that it actually exist? And that there was a possibility that my wife ended up there?" Asked Luke Cage with a calm voice despite his angry face.

"...Well, yes?" I reply a bit intimidated by the aura Luke was currently exhibiting. Fortunately for me, the next question came from a curious Ava. Unfortunately, her question was a trap.

"And you didn't thought we needed to know about it because?"

I first considered to lie, but after some thinking and the possibility of some Sorcerer exposing me, I told them the half-truth.

"Well, not everyone could accept that their loved one just happened to bump into a random portail that just happened to go to Hell okay? And because I thought that we didn't have too much time due to their 'destinations' I didn't tell you to avoid the part where you're coping with the news."

Seeing that my answer was somehow logical given the situation, both of them dropped out the subject. But I could see from Luke's eyes, that he was still a little angry with me. But right now, that was the last of my concerns.

Facing the Ancient One once again, I resume our conversation by asking the most important questions.

"So, hum, Ancient One... Can you please tell us what is the Limbo dimension? And how do we access it?"

Even if I couldn't read people at a glance I could see that she was feigning thinking about questions. I didn't know for what purpose, but then Ion told me the reason.

[Don't be fooled by her current posture, I can feel the force of time being used right now.]

His comment made react. The Ancient One of was using the time stone. Looking into the future perhaps. But as look more closely at her and more specifically at the Time Stone around her neck, I realized that the Eye of Agamotto wasn't even open and she didn't do some weird signs to activate her magic! And no part of her body was even glowing green, as a testimony of her use of the Time Stone. But even if that was the case, I didn't dismissed Ion's comment.

Because apart from Strange and Thanos, I've never seen anyone else use the Time Stone. So it possible that because they just recently acquired it, they weren't proficient enough to be able to use it like the Ancient One.

But this invisible show of power suddenly put a great pressure on me. Because before meeting the Ancient One, even though I didn't want to admit it, but I was really too relaxed on my new situation.

From the Fan-fic I used to read in my previous life, I knew that every MC would immediately start to grind for power immediately while constantly trying to take advantage of their meta knowledges to gain more powers and advantage. But I on the other hand did nothing like that.

Because unconsciously I'm thinking that this world has heroes that will solve everything anyway, so I didn't try to really involve myself. Just like here, after learning that Jessica kidnapping involved magic, I immediately calm down after thinking that Ancient On could resolve the problem for me.

But now I realized something : if the Ancient One is using the Time Stone, then it would mean that none of this should have happened! Because in the movie Doctor Strange, she had anticipated and planned everything that will happen till her death.

But my arrival changed things. And now that I think about it, its quite logical. If I didn't meet Jessica at the start, then maybe that Killgrave guy would have controlled her for a long time or even forever. If so, Ava and Jess would probably never met each other, Jessica would have never become a private eye, and they would have never went to the bar with that witch inside...

'So, it may have been a good thing for them that I transmigrated here, but I can't treat things as carelessly as before. The fact that I changed the future from day one is a proof that things are uncertain and no plot armor will protect my friends when they were destined to have a miserable ending.' I mused sagesse.

It was after this reflection that Ancient One finally decided to answer my questions.

"Young Elric, I will first warn you that even though the Limbo is in a way, less dangerous than Hell because it doesn't possess diverse Dimensions Lords like Mephisto and Lucifer, in fact there have been no Dimension Lord as a ruler in this dimension. Only Sorcerers witches or demons. But even then, Belasco is still too powerful for you to confront."

While I didn't know exactly how powerful was the ruler of a dimension, to be safe, I blindly guessed that it should be at least as powerful as Beerus, the god of destruction from the Dragon Ball universe. And with those thoughts I started to plan out our rescue mission.

"I have 2 questions. Can you or other Sorcerers use the mirror dimension spell inside the Limbo?"

"Well, it is indeed possible to use it inside the Limbo. But only if it's an experienced Sorcerer who cast that spell. Otherwise not only that person will fail in the casting, but he'll also alert Belasco." Explained the Ancient One to us.

"Then, can you help us? We don't need to fight Belasco after all. We only need to take away our friends and his wife."

"Well, I currently can't go there myself. But, I will ask one of my protégé if they are available. However even if you were able to go there undetected, if you land at the wrong time, you may still be incapable of saving them. So I hope you can ready your heart if it does happen."
