Teaching The Deep a Lesson

The warm, welcoming applause slowly quieted down, and the scene suddenly became silent! Then, another intense shout followed. Despite not really knowing the reason, some easily-influenced people also joined the shouting!

Starlight watched anxiously from backstage, but she had no way to help Li Yue. She could only hold her hands together, praying that Li Yue could get through this crisis!

The vice president, Madelyn, was also caught off-guard. She knew that Li Yue's identity problem would inevitably cause some people to dislike him. However, she had believed that with Vought's company controlling public opinion behind the scenes, it would not cause too much commotion!

She didn't expect that Li Yue would experience such intense rejection from his very first appearance.

The first person that incited the opposition was obviously doing it on purpose to stir up the audience.

Anxiety filled Madelyn's face. She was ready to intervene on the stage at any moment.

The Deep (evil Aquaman), who was also on the stage to help out the newcomers Starlight and Li Yue, also sneered at Li Yue.

He didn't know why, but he felt repulsed from the first moment that he saw Li Yue! He was more than happy to see Li Yue making a fool of himself. It would be great if Madelyn would kick Li Yue out of The Seven and let Starlight take over Lamplighter's position!

"Would everyone please calm down and listen to me?"

Li Yue maintained his smile and calm tone, hoping to weather the audience.

Unfortunately, no one in the audience cared about Li Yue's feelings at all. The louder the voices were, the colder Li Yue's eyes became!

Crackle!!

"I said, be quiet!"

Li Yue abandoned his smile out of anger and transformed into the God of Thunder state. Bolts of lightning shot out from Li Yue's body, covering his combat suit in silver lightning. The red cape behind him danced in the wind.

People around him were shocked when they saw his full power! Some of the lightbulbs around him were even shattered by Li Yue's aura!

The shock from Li Yue's sudden explosive power silenced the chaotic audience. It was quiet enough to hear a pin drop.

Some people still had their mouths open, but they did not dare to make a sound! Their hearts felt heavy, as if a boulder was dropped on them. They couldn't even breathe, much less speak!

Similarly shocked was Starlight and The Deep. This was the first time that The Deep witnessed Li Yue's superpower. He was scared out of his mind, even more than when he faced Homelander!

Madelyn stopped herself from intervening. She was curious about what Li Yue would do!

"Sorry, I have to use this method to make everyone quiet down! I have something to say to everyone!"

Li Yue scanned the quiet audience. He gradually suppressed his aura again. Everyone in the audience slowly regained their senses, but they kept their silence. They watched Li Yue on the stage with fear, not knowing what he would say!

Li Yue's appearance was simply too shocking. Ordinary people that faced Li Yue in that state would probably have their lives flashing in front of their eyes. Li Yue's divine appearance was firmly imprinted in their minds.

"I don't know which of my friends here asked me to get out right when I walked on the stage, but I do not blame him. I was thankful that he opened my eyes, letting me know that not all superheroes would be equally accepted!

"I have dreamed of being a superhero since my childhood. I have worked hard every day to train myself and my superpower, hoping that someday I would be able to punish evil and save the innocent! To become a real superhero that everyone approved!

"I am very grateful to Vought International and Lady Madelyn, who had given me the opportunity to realize my dream and become everyone's beloved superhero!

"Stepping on this stage had revealed the bitter truth. I was wrong! Very wrong! Just becoming a superhero wouldn't make people accept and like me!

"But I do not regret it. My dream does not end just by becoming a superhero. My true dream is to help every innocent person who are in danger!

"Therefore, even if I can't be recognized by everyone just yet, I will work hard to do what a superhero should do and earn your recognition.

"So, I ask all superheroes to remember this one sentence:

"With great power, comes great responsibility!

"Alright, I'm done with my speech. Goodbye, everyone!"

Li Yue's long speech shocked his audience below the stage! He then turned around, stepping off the stage without any resistance!

Just before Li Yue disappeared backstage, an applause ignited from an unknown point and spread like a forest fire through the audience. Almost instantly, everyone in the audience clapped their hands like their lives depended on it!

"I'm glad that this Li Yue didn't disappoint me. His quick thinking was top-notch! With proper guidance, he would bring prosperity to the company!"

Madelyn stared at Li Yue's back as he walked down the stage. She was thinking about how to bring the most value out of Li Yue!

"Wow, Li Yue, that was a great speech! That was also my dream!

"Also, the sentence 'with great power comes great responsibility' really speaks to my heart! I will remember this sentence and become a superhero that everyone acknowledges!

The very excited Starlight immediately met Li Yue after he stepped down from the stage. Her flattery made him embarrassed!

He was just using other people's words to fool the audience!

"I believe you will!"

The shareholder meeting ended perfectly. Madelyn, who had stepped down from the stage, called out to Li Yue and led him to Madelyn's office. Meanwhile, Starlight returned to The Seven team office with The Deep!

Madelyn told Li Yue that he wasn't in a problem. She only praised Li Yue's performance on the stage before telling him about the benefit and treatments. She then let Li Yue leave!

"Hehe, I'm not in the mood to waste my time here either. After commencing my plan tomorrow, I won't be your employee anymore!"

Li Yue thought to himself as he slowly walked towards The Seven's office.

After entering the office, Li Yue was greeted by a scene that he somewhat remembered from the original show. The Deep was forcing Starlight to do some indescribable things!

Fortunately, Starlight directly refused him instead of compromising like in the show. She walked out of the door in a hurry, just in time to meet Li Yue!

"Li Yue, you..."

Li Yue didn't wait for Starlight to finish speaking. He passed by Starlight and pointed at The Deep, who was still standing there. A dazzling electric arc raced at The Deep at a blinding speed!

The Deep was thrown flying and slammed into the wall. He slowly slid to the ground like a painting with broken nails! He stayed unconscious for quite a while!

"Do that again, and I will cut your junk to feed the fish in the sea!" Li Yue said to The Deep in a low voice!
