Not far from the palace, there is a tall tower placed on the edge of a cliff.
Even though it is not guarded most of the year, no one dares approach it except for the Queen and the General.
Inside the tower are sealed artifacts from the age of the gods, including the Lasso of Truth.
Today, Hippolyta brought Diana to this place.
In fact, She would have never let Diana come here because it would have been up to her to take up the heavy burden of killing Ares, which was undoubtedly very dangerous.
But Hippolyta still brought her here.
"Cough cough!"
Jack pushed open the large door at the base of the tower, and a gust of decay-filled wind mixed with dust blew towards him, taking him by surprise.
He recognized this place; it was supposed to be a sacred place for the Amazons, right? Hasn't anyone cleaned it?
Diana looked at the place with curiosity.
She knew about it, of course, but she had never been here before because her mother strictly prohibited her from approaching this tower.
"Follow me."
Hippolyta glanced at Diana with a complicated expression, took a deep breath, and walked into the tower.
The three of them took floors together and soon reached the top of the tower, where several precious artifacts of the Amazons were kept.
The Princess Tiara, also known as the Linguagraph Tiara, symbolized both divine power and holiness.
It could even be used as a boomerang in a moment of trouble.
The Amazon shield, made from fragments of Zeus' Aegis, could protect the wearer from shots and make them invulnerable to blades and spears.
In the original story, Diana used it to deflect various attacks, such as the Heat Vision from Doomsday and the axe of the Steppenwolf.
The Bracelets of Submissions, forged by Hephaestus, can create a protective force field similar to Zeus' shield, blocking attacks including Superman's heat vision.
They were also made from fragments of Zeus' shield.
The God Killer, despite its name, was not capable of killing Ares.
However, it was still a rare and powerful artifact that could deliver atomic-level slashes.
Both Steppenwolf and Doomsday suffered from it in the movies.
Lastly, there was the equipment, the Lasso of Truth.
It was crafted by Hephaestus using the Golden Girdle of Gaea.
The lasso was bestowed by Hestia and personally tied to a divine arrow by Artemis, who shot it down from Mount Olympus.
Anyone bound by it could only speak the truth.
But it didn't work on Jack.
At this moment, Hippolyta held it in her hands.
These were the top divine artifacts prepared for Diana by the Greek gods. Once she put them on, she could go fight the final boss.
Hippolyta looked at the displayed divine artifacts surrounding them, sighed with a complex expression, and turned to face Diana.
"I always wanted to keep you away from this war, but... maybe this is your destiny."
She walked over to Diana and cupped her daughter's face with concern and worry.
"The purpose of your birth is to stop Ares from returning, and Zeus and I both understand that he cannot be killed. Only you, only you, can destroy him!"
"Once he regains his godly powers through human warfare, he will enslave the entire world, and everyone will be consumed in the flames of war!"
"I originally didn't want you to go, but now... even if I stop you, you won't change your mind."
She glanced at Jack and said, "I can only choose to trust you now, Mr. Wayne."
"Of course."
Jack understood the meaning behind her words and said seriously, "I won't let her suffer any harm."
Both Jack and Hippolyta wanted Diana to stay here, safe and sound, until after he killed Ares.
But plans couldn't keep up with changes, and Steve's sudden arrival disrupted his plans.
Now he had no choice but to take Diana with him.
Everything seemed to return to its original course.
Diana didn't understand what they were discussing, but she could tell that her mother agreed to let her go and destroy Ares.
This made her overjoyed.
The mission of the Amazonians was to destroy Ares and protect humanity, which was why Diana had been trained since childhood.
However, there was still one question.
"How are we going to find Ares?"
Jack and Hippolyta exchanged glances, and Hippolyta teased, "He will take you there, right, Mr. Future."
Diana also remembered Jack's self-introduction, and her charming eyes looked at him curiously.
"Okay," she said.
Jack glanced at Hippolyta, somewhat helpless, and hinted, "You're not worried now?"
Before, she didn't believe in him and even wanted him to face Ares alone.
But now, she seemed relieved and entrusted her daughter to him. This sudden change was quite surprising.
Hippolyta chuckled and shook her head, saying something unexpected.
"Krypton was an ally of the gods when they fought against the invasion of Darkseid on Earth."
This news was quite unexpected.
That night, Hippolyta met Steve, who was crying while he sang behind iron bars.
No one knew what they talked about, but the next day, Steve was released.
The Amazons set up a big boat for him that was full of food and supplies.
Steve, Jack, and Diana left Themyscira early the next morning on the small boat that looked like it might flip over at any moment.
If it weren't for Jack and Diana being with him, Steve would most likely have had to swim back on his own.
On the deck, Steve, who had fastened the ropes, looked around and seemed to have nothing to do.
He looked at the two people who were talking in the corner and gave them a look that said he was going to check the cabin.
After he left, Diana spoke up.
"Why didn't you just fly out?"
Diana pointed to the sky to show that she was curious.
Jack could fly, why did they need to take a boat?
"I can fly, but don't you think sailing has more charm?"
Jack smiled without caring, leaned over, and looked at Diana with soft eyes.
"We... can take advantage of this time to get to know each other better."
"And finding Ares is simple. Just follow him."
Diana knew who he was referring to.
When she heard that following that man could lead them to Ares, her eyes lit up.
She seemed to have imagined something incredible.
"Could he be a follower of Ares?"
At the thought of this possibility, Diana couldn't sit still anymore.
She grabbed her sword and was about to interrogate Steve with brutal methods.
Jack quickly persuaded her and finally convinced her that Steve had nothing to do with them.
Well, not exactly nothing.
If his guess was correct, Ares had disguised himself as Steve's superior, Sir Morgan. If everything went well, they would probably meet soon.
"Oh, by the way, I have a gift for you."
Calming Diana down, Jack suddenly remembered something and tapped his head.
Out of thin air, a futuristic helmet appeared.
"What is this?"
Diana asked curiously, examining the strange helmet.
"Well... this thing can help you quickly understand the outside world. Since we have time now, would you like to give it a try?"
"Really?"
Diana was pleasantly surprised.
She couldn't wait to see the world outside and immediately put on the helmet without hesitation.
Seeing this, Jack's face showed a complicated expression, and he sighed softly.
This helmet wasn't just for her to explore the outside world.
It also had some things that Jack had set up so that Diana could slowly learn about the nature of humanity.
And at this moment, Diana was about to experience some changes that she was destined to experience.
