The person in the image is someone Jack is familiar with, and they have been sleeping together every day.
Of course, they were just sleeping.
Someone said they saw Wanda in a small place Jack had never heard of.
This seemed impossible.
Wanda had been in New York all this time and hadn't left. How could she appear in Westview, a town miles away?
"After discovering this, we dispatched an investigation team to Westview, and on the first day, we made a lot of progress," Nick Fury continued.
"We found a very unusual change in energy in the abandoned empty house in Westview. Compared to what we have seen before, both the radiation's elements and how it affected the energy were different."
"Let me guess,"
Jack closed the file and tossed it on the coffee table.
Leaning back with crossed legs and supporting his forehead, he shook his head and said with a wry smile, "There's a 'but' coming, right?"
Nick Fury shrugged.
"Although I know you don't want to hear it, but... yes, there is. Based on the energy index and radiation reaction, it closely resembles the powers displayed by Miss Maximoff about a month ago."
Closely resembles meant that it had almost the same exact power.
"Alright,"
Jack rubbed his face heavily and sighed.
"I'll go take a look in a couple of days, and I'll bring Wanda with me."
"Thank you very much," Nick Fury breathed a sigh of relief when hearing Jack's agreement.
Now that Jack had agreed to go, Nick Fury felt relieved.
However, just as he was about to stand up to bid farewell, Phil Coulson behind him suddenly received a phone call.
"Yes!"
"What?"
"Understood. Seal off the area immediately and prevent anyone from getting close."
With just three simple sentences, Phil hung up the phone and looked at the two with a serious expression.
"Something has happened in Westview."
...
Westview, New Jersey, was a small town.
It was even somewhat lonely, with only around two hundred households and fewer than a thousand people.
Since it had nothing interesting, only a few people from outside the town came to visit.
To put it bluntly, even if all the people in the town died overnight, it would probably take a couple of weeks for anyone to notice.
Luckily, it was such a hidden place; otherwise, it would have been difficult to keep the current events hidden from the outside world.
When Jack arrived with Nick Fury and Phil on the edge of the town, even he, with his wide experience, couldn't help but be amazed by the abnormality of the small town.
A massive blood-red energy shield was changed and covered the land in front, right where Westview used to be.
And if he didn't sense it wrong, this energy shield was entirely made up of highly pure Chaos Magic.
This relieved Jack because although Wanda also had Chaos Magic, her powers were not developed and massive like this.
At least it proved that Wanda was not involved.
On the other side, Phil found the agents stationed outside the town, learned the situation, and returned with a serious expression.
"How bad is the situation?"
Nick Fury asked when he noticed Phil's behavior.
"The worst part is, sir, we have no idea what's going on," Coulson said with a complicated expression as he reported,
"An hour ago, a sudden energy outbreak happened in the town, instantly surrounding the entire place. Apart from a few agents stationed on the outskirts, everyone who entered the town has lost contact."
"Have they tried sending drones inside?"
"We did, but as soon as the drones entered, we lost their signal."
Nick fell silent for a moment and said, "Issue a Level 5 alert and dispatch a large number of personnel from the agency. Seal off the surrounding area first."
He continued, "Also, gather all available technicians to study how to deal with... this big problem."
Phil's face turned solemn.
A Level 5 alert? It had been a long time since S.H.I.E.L.D. had such a high level of emergency response.
What was the last incident that warranted it?
"Don't make it so complicated."
Jack clapped his hands and walked over, interrupting, "I'll go in and see what's going on. You guys wait here."
"You're going?" Nick Fury and Phil exchanged a glance, and Phil asked, "Are you sure it's fine?"
"If I had any problems, your investigation wouldn't help anyway," Jack chuckled, his gaze towards Phil carrying a hint of difficulty.
Without waiting for their response, he took a step and instantly appeared in front of the barrier.
"Interesting."
Looking at the barrier made up of Chaos Magic in front of him once again, Jack had a puzzling smile on his face as he reached out and placed his hand on it.
The next second, a powerful suction force pulled Jack directly inside.
After Jack disappeared, Nick furrowed his brow in the distance and asked in a low voice, "Can he handle it?"
"God knows, but... Nick Fury said he could, so he should be fine," Phil replied, but the voice coming out of his mouth was that of a woman.
On the other side, Jack felt like he had gone through a thin layer of plastic, and the environment around him changed rapidly.
The once bright day turned into night, and he found himself standing in the middle of a street, surrounded by buildings with an 80s vibe.
On a sign by the roadside, it read, "Welcome to Westview," but the paint on the letters had faded and peeled off, making it hard to read if not for his sharp eyesight.
This was Westview?
Jack furrowed his brow, sensing that something was off. Everything around him made him feel like nothing was real.
It was as if... everything was fake.
Just as he was about to close his eyes and perceive what had happened here, he heard some movement behind him.
"Who are you."
When hearing the voice, Jack's lips curled up slightly as he slowly turned around to look at the person.
A mature version of Wanda, wearing a red leather jacket, was staring at him cautiously, her Chaos Magic ready in her hand.
"Wanda, nice to meet you."
Jack seemed clueless about the energy ball in Wanda's hand as he said, "Honestly, this feeling is really strange, but fortunately, I've experienced it before, so I can accept it."
Wanda didn't understand what Jack meant, but she let down her guard slightly.
She could sense the immense power inside Jack's body, surpassing even her own. If he had any ill intentions, he would have attacked her already.
Considering what she has been through, this person should be able to answer her questions.
So she looked at Jack and asked, "Did you bring me to this universe? I can feel that this isn't the universe I originally belonged to."
"It wasn't me who brought you here."
Jack shook his head and denied, "To be exact, you brought yourself here."
