Bucky and Loki turned to look at Jack when they heard his words and saw the paper in his hand. The paper had some words, and when they looked closer, it was the conversation between Sylvie and Kang just now.
It was obvious that Kang knew what she was going to do and say before Sylvie arrived and recorded it in advance. Loki and Bucky could also see that the ordinary, talkative could very well be the Time-keeper.
Jack picked up a few more pieces of paper, which recorded at least their conversations, and almost every person's words were recorded here. However, it was not all of them. He found that what he said was not recorded, and some of the recorded ones were incorrect or missing.
Frowning, Jack looked at Kang, he didn't seem like a normal person.
"Sylvie, stop it."
Seeing Sylvie's attacks were meaningless, Jack called her out in time. Although Sylvie was unwilling, she also knew that it was impossible to kill Kang and had to stop and return to the three of them in anger.
"I want to know what this means?"
Jack tossed the paper on the ground without much thought and asked.
"You knew what we talked about? Were you spying on us?"
"Spying? Hmm..."
Kang shrugged and thought for two seconds, "I wouldn't say it's spying because I designed everything. To put it simply, I made a road for all of you to be here."
"Nonsense!" Sylvie said angrily, "I've heard enough of this nonsense!"
When Jack heard her, he gave Kang a weird look. He touched Sylvie's elbow and pointed to the ground without saying anything. Sylvie looked at him in confusion, lowered her head, and saw a piece of paper under her feet that recorded what she had just said.
"..."
Sylvie fell silent, still looking at Kang, but she didn't make any move.
"That's the best way to be peaceful."
He went behind his desk and did something for a moment. Then he brought out four hot cups of tea and set them in front of the group.
"Loki"
"Loki"
"Bucky! I like that name!"
"And the man outside of time!"
As he spoke, Kang looked meaningfully at Jack before finally shifting his gaze away and gesturing to the group. "Come, please enjoy. Don't be shy, treat it like your own home. You've had a long journey, and I'm sure it wasn't easy."
The two Loki's, Bucky, and Jack, glance at each other and then turn to look at Kang.
They heard Kang describe Jack as the Man Outside of Time.
"The man Outside of time? That's a good title."
"This is not just a title!" said Kang, looking at Jack excitedly. He murmured to himself for a while, unable to describe what it really meant.
"Ok, let's pause here. I don't think it's the time to discuss this," said Jack, interrupting Kang.
At that moment, Loki, who had been quiet, suddenly stood up with his smile and looked at Kang with sincere and excited eyes, saying.
"I've always wanted to meet you, Time-Keeper. You're a god, and I'm a god too. How about we have a conversation between gods?"
Sylvie and Bucky looked at him in confusion, wondering if he had drunk too much tea and was now speaking nonsense. Only Jack shook his head helplessly.
Kang tried to lure Jack into a partnership, but he didn't realize that someone with such power and control over time could never be interested in him.
As expected, faced with Loki's friendliness, Kang first froze for a moment, then sat in his chair, looking at Loki with a hint of mockery.
"Loki, Loki, you know, you're like a flea on a dragon's back, In for one hell of a ride. But you did manage to hang on."
"I had high hopes for you, wanting the two of you to take my place here, but...because of his appearance, you couldn't finish the experience I arranged for you. Such a pity you missed out on such a precious opportunity."
"No, no, it's not a pity at all. Look, I'm here now, and we can still work together!"
When Kang mentioned his original plan for Loki to take over, Loki was overjoyed and almost jumped up, but then he became anxious when he heard the latter part of Kang's message.
"Hush, hush, hush!"
Kang raised a finger to silence Loki's long speech and looked at Jack with a playful smile, "You've disrupted my plans, my friend. I could have retired, but now I may have to continue to stay here."
Jack ignored this and picked up the red tea on the table, drinking it in one gulp. He smacked his lips and asked, "So, what was your original plan, and what do you mean when you say I messed up your plan? The most important question is, of course, why doesn't the power of time work on me? Does that mean I'm beyond outside of time?"
Kang replied, "No, no, no, slow down. I'm old, and my brain is a bit full."
He held his head and thought about Jack's questions. After a moment, he suddenly stood up and grabbed the book he had been holding onto.
He flipped through it, and a few seconds later, he pointed to a page and explained to Jack, "First of all, about being outside of time, it's very simple. It means that you're not affected by the timeline."
"Of course, of course!" Kang stood up and quickly walked to the window, pointing to the giant glowing circle outside and saying, "Do you see that? That's the sacred timeline made up of countless timelines."
"Just like what you saw in the Void, there are countless versions of Loki in the sacred timeline, crocodile versions, women, children, old men, and there are also countless versions of the Winter Soldier, which I think you've seen, right?"
"Yes, she went back."
"That's not the point."
Bucky tried to talk, but Kang stopped him and instead knocked on the window, which made the glass to vibrate, and then turned back to Jack.
"But what's interesting is that you, you're the only one!" he said.
"What do you mean?" Jack furrowed his brows, puzzled.
"It means that, apart from your own timeline, there is no version of you in any other timeline. There is no Jack Wayne in any other timeline except the universe you're from." Kang explained.
