Ch 4: Charles Is Normal Life

Midtown High. One of many high schools in New York City. Most of the time this high school didn't have anything too outstanding. But that's in eyes of normal people. This school trained many high-end talents like Doctor Octopus, Lizardman, Green Goblin, etc. almost all of them pretty famous villains. You can at least half of Sinister Six has some kind of connection with this school.

And current Charles is trying to think of a way to recruit one of these high-end talents. Doctor Curtis Connors aka Lizardman. He even helped him make great progress on his lizard serum. If his calculations aren't wrong Doctor Connors will turn into Lizardman at the end of the month. Maybe even a little earlier than that.

"Hello, Doctor Connors. It's a nice day isn't it?" Charles get inside the lab and took his white lab coat and said to Connors. Seeing Charles is here Connors lift his head and looked at him and smiled: "Yeah, it's a nice day outside. Come help me with these few new formulas. With my one hand, it's hard for me to manage all at the same time."

Even though Dr. Connors was still smiling you can hear little sadness in his voice when said 'one arm'. Charles just shook his head lightly with a look of 'worry' and said: "Sure Doctor Connors. It seems Gwen didn't come today."

"She is in her youth Charles. She should have fun while she has time. At least it's better than spending time with a disabled old man like me." Dr. Connors let out a sigh of sadness while touching his empty sleeve. Then he felt someone places their hand on his shoulder. He turn around and saw it was Charles with a soft smile. "Don't say that Dr. Connors. I'm sure my experiment will succeed soon. And not only your hand would back but also your name will be engraved on book history."

"Hehe, you always know what to say, Charles. Come on let's hurry up. Or else we need to prepare all this again." Seeing his 'kind' assistant Dr. Connors felt a little bit better in his heart. Even so, he still felt little sadness when he looked at his empty sleeve swaying in wind.

'Looks like our dr. Connors is reaching his limit. I'm sure it won't take long for him to become a well-known villain Lizardman.' while thinking Charles starts focusing on research.

After a few hours of research door finally opened and three people come in. One of them is a little fat kid Ned Leeds friend of Peter Parker and one of Charles is a hero candidate. And then the other one is of course our friendly neighbor Spider-Man himself. Finally, a third person was a girl with light blond hair and pale blue eyes. She is Gwen Stacy whom Charles mentioned earlier.

"Oh Peter, Ned it's nice to see you guys. And Gwen I know you are helping us with your wish and it's free for you to leave but please at least text us your reason before skipping the job okay?" Charles greeted them kindly and give Gwen a 'worried' look. Gwen could only look away in little guilt.

"I'm sorry. MG and the girls asked me to go out shopping and I just couldn't say no." Gwen said weakly. And seeing this Charles just chuckled a little bit and said: "Okay, I am not scolding you. Me and Dr. Connors are just worried about you a little bit."

"By the way where is Harry? I thought he is with you guys." Charles also didn't forget to ask about his villain candidate. After all, as a man behind the scenes, he needs to control the growth of his candidate and pawns. Especially with Harry's background, he needs to pay especially attention to him.

"He said his dad is going to invite an important business partner today so called him back home immediately after school ended," Peter said while looking around the lab with great interest.

'Oh, important guest? That's interesting information. Thank you, Peter.' Then Charles summoned his stand [Smack (Kiss)]. [Smack] is ability is a really interesting ability.

It is ability is called [duplicated stickers]. As the name suggested it is a pink sticker with a kiss mark. You almost see no difference from normal mail stickers. And when he removes the sticker duplicate will spring towards the original then they will fuse. But this will cause damage to the original.

(AN: I changed a few settings in [Smack (Kiss)] is ability.)

If you play smart you can do many things with this ability like putting the sticker on the car and when the car owner gets in the car remove the sticker and boom. The owner of the car is dead. And its stats are almost crazy. Expect [Precision] all other stats are A.

Currently, while Charles was focusing on his research of Lizard Serum and [Smack] is secretly checking things on his phone while hiding inside his backpack. Because the stand is the manifestation of the spiritual will of the user so its size can be freely controlled by the user.

'Hmm, it seems like the only one that is likely is Wilson Fisk. They signed a contract with each other a few days ago.' while thinking Charles start planning what to do with William Fisk. After all, he is one of the villains that appear in Spider-Man many times. Also, there might be a slight chance to meet the defenders.

'Well, looks like it's time to train a new guy.' After another half an hour of research, Dr. Connors decided to call a day today. Charles and the others also nodded their head and leaves the lab.

"Hey, did you hear? Spider-man fights against a new supervillain today." Ned said while tooling out his phone and showing footage of the fight. Seeing this Peter couldn't help but feel a little embarrassed. After all, in most of the fight, he was playing around by [The Rival] till the X-Men arrived.

"Woah, the new guy seems pretty strong. Is it another super-speed user? I remember Spiderman also had a disadvantage when fighting Quicksilver too. I guess he isn't really good against speed-type enemies." Gwen said while looking at the video carefully and trying to analyze something. Hearing Gwen's words Peter felt even more embarrassed. If possible he wanna say 'guys I am here you know?' but he couldn't.

The only thing that calmed him a little bit was Charles's hand on his shoulder. So the four of them start discussing Spiderman's recent fight against [The Rival] on their way. But didn't take long before the four of them become a trio.

*Beep, beep, beep.*

Four of them looked at the car signaled to them and saw the driver was Gwen's dad George Stacy. Seeing this Gwen could only let out a sigh and say goodbye to her friends before driving towards her home with her dad.

"Hey, brother Charles I was just thinking if Spiderman faces Daredevil could he win? I mean Spiderman has many abilities but he seems isn't that skilled in close combat as Daredevil." Ned asked while showing another footage of Daredevil in the fight against a bunch of gangs.

"That's hard to say. If they fight against each other somehow then it will be a fight between base stats vs skills. As you can see even though Daredevil is look inhumanly strong truth is his fighting skills and his experience made is what he relies on most in his fights. I never see him send someone into the air with one punch like Spiderman so his strength is good as Spiderman. But Spiderman will also have a hard time while fighting against many guys and couldn't beat them easily as Daredevil did. This shows Daredevil's fighting skills are superior. I think in one on one fights they will mostly tie or Spiderman wins with low diff." Charles explained his mind while looking at Peter secretly.

Hearing Charles's opinion Peter couldn't help but have a happy smile on his face. And seeing a happy smile Charles couldn't help but also smile inside himself. 'Peter, Peter, Peter. You need to smile as much as you can but you also need to prepared to cry as much you smile.'
