Split-Soul(chapter 78)

previously in chapter 77

"Well, that was worth the wait," he sighed contentedly. The crimson crystal, forged from the blood of thousands of higher-ranking demons frozen within the heart of Antarctica, had proven to be as potent as he had hoped. Its unique properties had unlocked new abilities within him, granting him insights into the supernatural world that surrounded him.

Overwhelmed by the flood of new sensations and perceptions, Oliver decided to indulge in a bit of sightseeing. With his newfound powers, the world around him seemed to teem with unseen energies and hidden secrets, waiting to be discovered. Some beings hid from him the moment he passed by, while others simply stared, intrigued or fearful. "It's quite odd to see the world from this perspective," he mused to himself, observing a little imp demon quivering in fear. What Oliver was unaware of was that he was emitting large amounts of demonic energy just by existing, suffocating some while intriguing others.

Chapter 78

For example, the roaring motorcycle that belonged to the Ghost Rider, who had just arrived. "Foul demon prep—" The Spirit of Vengeance's words abruptly stopped as he saw the foolish demon brazenly revealing itself. It turned out to be someone the Ghost Rider was familiar with. "YOU," the hellfire emitting from the Spirit of Vengeance flared, remembering Oliver vividly. Even though Oliver was bathed in demonic energy, the Ghost Rider sensed no impurity from him, which further perplexed him. "What are your intentions?" the Ghost Rider questioned, his hellfire dying down. Although he couldn't read Oliver's heart, he sensed no impurity or guilt, only petty theft and no harm to the innocent.

"Oh, just exploring," Oliver said with a deadpan expression, almost like a doll. The Ghost Rider stared at him for a moment before getting on his bike. "I will be watching you," he declared before riding off, leaving Oliver to continue his exploration of the mystic side of the world. Oliver thought to himself, "I should really forge a sword made in heaven, as that is the only thing that could harm a Spirit of Vengeance."

The Ghost Rider wasn't the only one to quickly arrive at Oliver's location. An orange portal appeared, and two people emerged: Doctor Strange and Clea Strange, the Warlock of Manhattan and the Sorcerer Supreme respectively. Although Doctor Strange was deceased, Clea was assertive. "State your intentions, demons, or forever be bound into a scroll," she declared as Oliver looked up at them floating down. "Sightseeing," Oliver answered nonchalantly, catching them of guard, as if the two Sorcerer Supremes hadn't just confronted him. Seeing his attitude, the two Sorcerer Supremes were on guard before Doctor Strange noticed something familiar.

"Are you by any chance Oliver, the one known as Dread—" "Don't finish that sentence, Doctor," Oliver quickly interrupted, tired of hearing it. "Ah, I see it's you. Are you perhaps having any demon troubles?" Doctor Strange asked in an understanding tone, nodding towards Clea, who was preparing a scroll to bind Oliver. "No, I... this is another form of mine which I recently obtained," Oliver explained as he sighed, causing Doctor Strange to nod in understanding. "Ah, I see. Then perhaps would you mind toning down your demonic aura? It's causing quite the commotion," Doctor Strange requested, earning a confused look from Oliver.

"You're unaware that you're constantly releasing a demonic aura?" Clea asked in a strange tone as Oliver checked himself, especially his core, before looking at the couple. "But I am not actively using my demonic energy," he said, activating his hellfire, which consumed the black gas inside his demonic core. Clea then facepalmed as Strange explained, "Every demon has an aura, which we can use to identify them. You yourself are constantly releasing a demonic aura that everyone on the planet can sense." Hearing that, Oliver raised an eyebrow as he tried to feel this aura, which he then noticed, "ah, that would explain why the ghost rider came to me" he said as realisation dawned on him.

"Yeah, I was about to warn you. Anyways, the way to control your aura is—" Strange was about to explain how to conceal his demonic aura when the oppressive aura on Oliver completely disappeared, as if it was never there to begin with. "Oh, you got it," Strange said as Oliver released it again, just to seal it. "I see. Thank you for the tip, Doctor, and sorry about the commotion," Oliver said, giving a slight nod before bidding the sorcerer couple farewell and continuing on his way. But not before muttering.

"Maybe I can use this to attract hundreds of demons at once without needing to hunt them myself," which didn't escape the couple's ears. Clea said, "He is going to get himself killed," as Strange opened a portal. "I highly doubt that," he responded, getting a doubtful look from his wife before he continued, "He was able to kill an eldritch goddess, and recently he chipped and shattered an empowered Mjolnir," earning a raised eyebrow from the warlock. "Ah, he seems like a handful," she replied as they returned to their home.

After his encounter with the sorcerer couple, Oliver briefly retreated into his shell home, where he rummaged through his possessions. "I just remembered something," he mused as he laid eyes on a small dinosaur egg bathed in the remnants of the marrow god's blood. This egg, though unfertilized and empty, held significance to Oliver. He had plans for it, especially after the results he obtained from his daily practice. On his demon hunts, he often collected items dropped by demons, such as swords. In this case, it was a dagger, but it was special. Its significance was enhanced by the options it offered.

[Name: Soul-Eater Dagger]

[Grade: Purple]

[Description: This sinister dagger, forged in the depths of the underworld from infernal iron and fueled by the souls of a thousand sinners, is imbued with the power to sever and consume souls directly. Its blade, eternally hungry for the essence of life, thirsts for the taste of souls.]

[Option 1: Soul Fragmentation - Allows the wielder to slice off a fragment of a soul, separating it from the source. The detached fragment gains sentience, mirroring the original soul in every aspect, down to its very essence. However, the excruciating process inflicts unbearable pain upon the victim. (Rank: D) (Active)]

[Option 2: Soul Devourer - Grants the ability to consume and absorb the essence of slain souls, empowering the wielder with increased strength and vitality. (Rank: C) (Active)]

[Option 3: Abyssal Aura - Envelops the wielder in a sinister aura, instilling fear and unease in their enemies while bolstering their own resolve. (Rank: B) (Passive)]

[Durability: 87%]

It was because of the first option that he specifically sought an unfertilized egg in the Savage Land, even running into his least favorite person, Shana. Ignoring her as usual, he finally managed to find an unfertilized egg, and luck was on his side—it turned out to be a T-Rex egg. "By splitting a chunk of soul, I should be able to create a soul which I can use to occupy the egg," he mused, eyeing the option on the egg, the primary reason he wanted to use the dagger.

[Name: Eldritch Apex Wyrm Egg]

[Grade: Indigo]

[Description: This enigmatic egg defies the laws of nature, born from the union of an unfertilized T-Rex egg submerged in the blood of an eldritch god pulsating with cosmic radiations, and subsequently encased in the magical essence of a red Asgardian dragon. This extraordinary convergence has bestowed unprecedented power upon the embryonic form within.]

[Option 1: Eldritch Mastery (Rank: D) (Passive) - Unleashes the potential for manipulating eldritch energies in ways beyond mortal comprehension, enabling the power of eldritch, becoming immortal and undying.]

[Option 2: Draconic Ascendance (Rank: D) (Passive) - Elevates the egg to a state of draconic transcendence, imbuing it with the essence of ancient dragons. This transformation enhances its innate abilities and grants it access to potent draconic abilities such as the scales of a dragon, dragon breath, shapeshift, and dragon horns.]

[Option 3: Eternal Evolution (Rank: D) (Passive) - Possesses the ability to grow infinitely in size and strength by consuming the essence of other beings. The more it consumes, the more powerful and colossal it becomes. (0%).]

[Durability: 100%]

Author's Note: For anyone who is worried about the split soul betraying him, don't worry. Think of it like Fang Yuan's split soul—did they betray him? they didn't, because they are essentially him. Meaning, if they did betray him, they would be betraying themselves. The new split soul is going to be Oliver (or as I like to call him, our second main character). So yeah, there will be no betraying or mind-reading from the split soul. I better not see any of you worrying about this.

And guess who officially started his mcu fanfic??(which is about alchemy and alchemy means a lot of things, and i mean ALOT.)
