Manav hired a taxi at the next block and soon arrived at his home. He paid the fare and entered his house.
"Time to dig an underground base for myself," Manav said to himself. He had prepared a 100-meter-long nylon rope for the task. Tying one end of the rope securely to his bed, he began mining the wooden block he'd prepared earlier. Once the block disappeared, he fell through onto a mud block.
Pulling out his wooden shovel, Manav started digging. To his surprise, he noticed that the mud dug by the shovel didn't collapse around him. Instead, the surrounding mud became block-like, preventing cave-ins. Encouraged, Manav continued digging and managed to reach 100 blocks down.
When he began expanding the area, however, a mud block above him collapsed. Quickly, he grabbed a handful of concrete blocks he'd crafted earlier, holding them in one hand while digging with the shovel in the other. As soon as the next mud block disappeared, he placed a concrete block in its place.
"Concrete blocks are much better—they don't fall like sand. Speaking of sand, I remember it can be turned into glass. I wonder if there's any difference between Minecraft glass and glass in this world. I'll experiment later. First, I need to finish creating this room," Manav muttered to himself.
Meanwhile, unbeknownst to him, a burglar had entered his house.
---
"So, this is the house of my target. Not as luxurious as I thought, but definitely above average," a woman in a black bodysuit whispered to herself.
Her intuition warned her of impending danger. "I need to grab what I came for and leave quickly," she muttered, creeping silently toward the bedroom.
When she arrived, she found something unexpected—a deep, one-square-meter hole with four iron doors forming a trap. At the center of the setup, a half-stone slab sat atop the doors, with a wooden pressure plate in the middle.
"What is this? Boys these days really have strange hobbies," she chuckled lightly. "Is this art? Or something else?" Shaking her head, she focused on the task at hand. Walking over to a lamp on the table, she unscrewed its head, revealing a hidden USB drive.
"Mission accomplished," she said, turning to leave. But then she hesitated, glancing back at the trap.
"Should I try stepping on it? No… focus, I need to get out of here."
---
Meanwhile, Manav had already dug out a room 20 meters wide, 10 meters long, and 3 meters high. Half of the ceiling was made from concrete blocks, while the other half remained sand.
"I'll need to make more concrete blocks tomorrow," he said, gazing at the uneven ceiling. For now, he decided to work on decorations.
He placed a crafting table against the wall beneath the concrete ceiling and used wooden blocks to craft a chest, setting it next to the table.
"Let's make a bed," he muttered, retrieving the wool that had been delivered to his door earlier. Placing three woolen blocks and three wooden blocks on the crafting table, he watched as it shook slightly.
[Your bed will be ready by tomorrow morning.]
"Looks like higher-grade objects take more time to craft," Manav observed. Shrugging, he pulled an iron chestplate from his backpack chest, but its unexpected weight caused it to fall to the ground with a loud clang.
---
The burglar had been contemplating the trap when the loud metallic sound startled her. Instinctively, she stepped onto the wooden pressure plate.
THUD!
The iron doors slammed shut at lightning speed, hitting her and slamming her into another door. Her head struck hard, and she collapsed unconscious, unable to even cry out in pain.
---
Manav sighed in relief, his heart still pounding. "That chestplate almost crippled me. It's a good thing I pushed it away in time." He looked down at the heavy armor lying on the ground.
"What a dangerous piece of equipment. I need to be more cautious. My creations might end up killing me one day," he muttered, carefully storing the chestplate back into his chest through the crafting table.
Turning his attention back to his room, he placed a second crafting table next to the first and began crafting torches. Using coal and sticks, he made a few and planted them around the room to ensure even lighting.
"I wonder if these torches burn endlessly," he mused aloud.
[Not until you plant the Block World Seed and obtain the Digital Body of the Block World.]
"What's the Block World Seed? And how do I get it?" Manav asked the prompt, but it didn't respond. Shrugging, he turned his focus to crafting more items, including item frames.
He remembered his leather jacket and decided to use it for leather. But first, he needed to climb back up. Tying the rope around himself, he began the long ascent.
---
After a grueling two hours of climbing, resting, and cursing his untrained body, Manav finally reached the surface.
"Never again," he muttered. "I need to figure out a better solution until I get my Digital Body." Exhausted, he collapsed onto his bed and immediately fell asleep.
---
The next morning, the burglar woke up groaning in pain.
"Where am I? What happened?" she muttered, piecing together the events of the previous night. "I came here for the USB… got the USB… then that sound… and now I'm trapped in this stupid iron door setup."
Her muttering was interrupted by a voice echoing from deeper underground.
"Dig, dig, mine, mine! I'll make a big mecha and defeat Tiny Stark's Hulkbuster… Hulk will call me big brother… and I'll open a big harem to make the readers and author jealous! Mwahaha!" Manav was mumbling in his sleep.
The burglar frowned. "What's this idiot talking about? Hulkbuster? Readers? Authors? I need to wake him up."
"Hey! Boy! Wake up!" she yelled.
Manav woke with a start. "Who's yelling in my house so early?!" he grumbled, turning toward the sound.
When he saw who it was, his eyes widened in shock. "What the… Black Cat?! What's she doing here?! Did she come to steal something?! And how did she get trapped in my iron door setup?!"
Manav's scream made Black Cat cover her ears in irritation.
"Stop yelling like a lunatic and get me out of here, you fool! Or else, when I get out, I'll make you regret it!" she snapped, her voice filled with anger.
