Can't help himself

Closing her eyes, she relaxed her body into the ground. The sun was shining warmly on her face, and her little upturned nose cast a small shadow on her porcelain skin.

She could just lay here forever. She thought to herself.

Suddenly she felt as if something was blocking the sun directly above her head. She opened her eyes slowly, only to see a hairy head directly above, its pink tongue dangling as it panted excitedly, practically touching her face!

"Ah!" Sefi screamed and shot up from the ground like a rocket.

The golden retriever seemed to be taken aback by her reaction and retracted a few steps. It paced around in a circle whilst wagging its tail in a made excited manner, eager to get close but too scared in case she got scared and hit him. So, it continued with being cute by sticking its out and moved back and forth happily.

"Tank! Come here!"

A young man dressed in a white t-shirt and black shorts hurriedly ran over. He was tall and not too muscley. He had nice red lips and his skin was fair. He wore a pair of dark sunglasses and in his hand was a dog leash.

Despite dressing quite simply, it still didn't hide his extraordinarily good looks. In fact, he had a bit of a Prince Charming look about him.

"Are you okay? Sorry, he didn't mean to scare you." He asked, whilst grabbing hold of the wriggling golden retriever.

Sefi shook her head, already recovered from the fright and was feeling fine now.

The man looked at her and was surprised when he saw her face, he gave her a lazy, sexy smile and said, "Please forgive him, when he sees a beautiful girl, he just can't control himself."

As soon as he uttered the words, Sefi felt her face drop. So much for Prince Charming, she thought, what a sleazy bag? He was just like the rest of them.

Instead of feeling offended, Prince Charming smiled even brighter, showing perfect white teeth, "oh man, Sefi, you should see your face, honestly, you looked like you were ready to strike me with lightning."

Sefi was stunned to hear the man mentioning her name. Did he know her?

Sefi continued to stare at his handsome face and felt a stir of familiarity. Now that he mentioned it, he did remind her of someone. But the question was, where?

The golden retriever was so excited to see its owner, it started leaping at the young man and wagged its tail even faster as it continued to spin around wildly. Sefi was worried it might get dizzy and fall over.

The handsome guy kneeled down next to the golden retriever with a big grin, and his slender hands stroked its head and body hair whilst avoided its stuck out little tongue. There was something awfully attractive about a man who likes dogs. Sefi had to admit. Man and his best friend. It usually showed the man was kind natured and fun-loving.

"Can't believe you've forgotten me already Sefi, it's only been like two days." The handsome guy covered his heart, pretended to be disappointed. "You're hurting my feelings."

Two days ago? She tilted her head thinking, who was she with two days ago? Then suddenly remembering the video clip Nathan showed her.

She pointed at him, "Jin?" She croaked. Then to her surprise, she heard herself speak! Her voice was back! "You're Jin!"

"Haha, you remembered." He laughed good-naturedly.

She nodded back enthusiastically; she wasn't sure how much she'd remembered but it was certainly good to have her voice back.

Jin tried to keep a hold of the golden retriever whilst he proceeded with putting the dog leash on. It realised what its owner was wanting to do and it started to dash away in an attempt to escape, quickly hidding behind Sefi.

"Tank, come here, good boy," Jin called, but Tank refused to budge. Then the two of them began chasing in circles around Sefi.

She sat there on the grass, watching them play with those "Aunty-smiles" on her face. She was quite enjoying this.

Four legs were definitely faster than two. She concluded. Then in a sudden twist of fate, Jin changed directions and the golden retriever ran straight into his lap. It took a good few second for the golden retriever to realise what had just happened and as it tried to run away, it was too late because Jin already had him in a big bear hug.

"Got you!" Jin laughed as he patted the golden retriever's back. "Come on, let's go."

Seeing that it had been caught, the golden retriever then laid in Jim's arms feigning sleep, refusing to get up.

Jin looked a little helpless, and turned to Sefi desperate for help, "do you have dog biscuits?"

"Dog biscuit?" She was taken aback.

"Yeah, you know, those little snacks for dogs. He's in one of his tantrums." He pointed to the golden retriever who was pretending to sleep.

Sefi looked at the "Sleeping Beauty' that was lying in his arms, then looked at Jin, then looked down at herself, "sure, let me just reach into my pocket and get some dog biscuits for you."

Jin and Tank looked at her expectantly. Two sets of eyes roamed around her body as if trying to see which pocket it was hiding in.

"I was being sarcastic," Sefi said, feeling a little exasperated. Didn't they know the meaning of the word "sarcastic"?

They continued to stare as if they didn't know what she meant.

So in plain words, she stated, "I don't have any."

The look of disappointment on their faces...

"No worries, I'll go buy some just now, there's a convince store nearby. Can you look after him for me until I get back?" He asked.

"Sure," Sefi said. It wasn't like she had anything else to do.

Realising his owner was going to leave without him, Tank was not having any of it. He sulked and flopped his body against Jin, refusing to get up.
