Chapter 30

So for the next two days Claire started looking for a job discreetly after realizing that what her friend told her the day before was true . Every of her break hour Claire would use it to check on the places she saw vacancy Ad on her mobile phone. most of the places she found either were too far or their requirements was high , so she would decline and keep searching.

   Her aim was to start Afresh as an intern in a graphic company due to that she hold no degree for that course. she would love to be groomed ,so she wants a company of that background .

   And it was like God answered her prayers , Claire saw an advert on the net and clicked on it . she was glad that the vacancy was still on and they needed someone with a good art skill for a set up . the pay was up to par even though it couldn't be compared to the one she receives from her current company.

   Claire quickly applied and filled in her resume. she was praying that she would receive a call of appointment soon .

    However,her daily absent during the break hour started to worry Kelvin. first he thought she was eating out but as it kept going on , he knew it was not so .he would dial her number but it would be unreachable. Well he couldn't do much as it was break hour but something gwaned at the back of his mind that something was not right with her constant absence . He decided to know her reasons after the break hour elapses.

   " Good afternoon sir ." Claire greeted as she stood in front of Kelvin . " I got the message that you asked of my presence ." she said . she was actually anxious when she received the message on her mobile phone directly. she wondered if he noticed. but it was break hour ,Claire thought to her self , most of the staffs leaves the company for that one hour .

   She stood patiently opposite him waiting for his judgement.

     "Where have you been every break hours ?" Claire sucked in a breath at the clear sound of his voice that could cause shivers down ones spine .

   She swallowed as her eyes darted around thinking for an answer.

    " Uhm..I ... I do eat outside that company. yes ." Claire nodded her head vigoursly .

    Kelvin stared at her blankly because he knew that it was not true . she never eat out and even though she does,it wouldn't be for the complete break hour . he just looked at her standing over there with her white set of teeth .

     " Yes sir . it's true , I do eat out and use the rest of the time to walk around. you know to stretch my legs before coming back . but since you did not want it ,I would stop. " Claire nod her head affirmatively as if to say she would do anything he wants . Well talking about stopping, Claire actually would stop going out as she had found what she want . what she was  waiting for now was a call and everything would fall in place .

    "Let it be as you said .you may leave ." Kelvin dismissed her .

   Claire clutched her razing heart as she sat down on her seat . she smiled and shook her head .

    " Oh my ... almost ."

   When it was getting to the closing hour , Claire received an intercom from Kelvin saying to wait for him . And together they want home in his car . Claire  was surprised but she didn't let it enter her head . she had learnt her lessons .

    The following week was clustered with work for Claire .as they would have a day off to celebrate the Halloween ,Claire decided to rush her works .

  Still engrossed in sorting out the files and contract of agreement between their company and the recent collaboration, her phone beeped with a message. Claire stared at it contemplating whether to check on it or not .

     " Okay 2 min - What ?! "Claire gasp as she stood up abruptly with her phone in her two hands .

  "Am I seeing things ." she rubbed her eyes to be sure . happiness filled her as she realized it was real . she got a message from the company that she summited her resume to come the following Monday for an interview.

   Claire was very happy as she quickly left the work she was doing and called her friend.

   " Wow ... I know you would hit it ." the screaming Carole responded from the other side .

    "Carl I'm so happy ." Claire beamed as she randomly picked things in front of her.

    " So what ya gonna do on Monday ?" Carole went back to her serious mood as she tried to figure out what her friend would say to her boss on that very Monday .

    " It's true ," Claire sighed ," later I would tell you my plans ."

   " don't just get into troubles okay ."

   Claire frantically nod her head as she clutched the phone to her ear tighter.

   " Okay ."

   " Don't forget to update me later . see ya ." the call was disconnected and Claire went back to the pile of files in front of her .
