Chapter 24

Even though her sister had confirmed the relationship between Claire and Kelvin , it didn't stop Linda from tightening her guard.

  Days passed by and it was weekend . the Morgan family gathered together at the front wing where the general lives ,to have breakfast.

     " let's go out for a stroll after your class ." Daisy said to Claire who sat across her . she nodded and said ' okay ' . Kelvin who was concentrating on his food snapped his head towards his sister when he heard the word ' class ' .looking at his confused face Daisy explained.

     " Your wife is taking swimming class ." she said and the next second her face changed," wait, don't tell me you don't know ?" she looked at him disbelievingly.

   Kelvin stared at Claire before he said ," pardon ,I just forgot."

    They returned back to their food when one of the maid came and stood a little far from them. Mr Ben noticing this asked the maid ,

    " is there anything you want Victoria?" the maid named Victoria nodded her head .

" okay , what is it?"

   " Uhm.. sir a lady asked to see you ." Mr Ben furrowed his brows as he tried to think of who the person was .

     " A lady you say ?"

    " yes sir "

      " okay let her in . "  the maid turned around and left.

    Dasiy who sat at the other side of the table facing the door opened her mouth in surprise as Linda walked in .

    " What's she doing here?" she couldn't help but ask herself as her eyes moved to look at Claire .

  Claire also felt something was off with the way Daisy's expression changed ,she looked behind her and stiffened the moment her eyes landed on the grinning Linda .

    " Hi Papa ." Linda air kissed Mr Ben's cheeks and smiled at him .

    " Ha Morris ." Mr Ben returned the smile as he gestured towards an empty seat close to where Dasiy sat .

   "How's your mother ?" he asked the girl as sat down .

    " she's fine sir ." Linda did not forget her sweet smile as gave it out in full force.

      " I was wondering why I haven't seen you around again ,or ..", he wringled his brows at her ,"is it because of my son has - "

    " Dad ," Kelvin slammed his hands on the table which made Claire to jump on her seat out of shock . he just looked at her amusingly before facing his father and said ,

     " Linda just arrived not quite long ."

   Mr Ben looked at Linda to be sure of what he heard . Linda nodded her head after looking at Kelvin for some minutes. she realized something as she smiled within herself mischievously.

    Kelvin who was agitated on his seat ever since Linda walked in turned restless as he cursed the both of them in his mind . he wondered what brought her to his house this early morning. he immediately went back to his food as he couldn't wait for it to finish and leave .

    " Hey slow down son ," Mr Ben reprimanded him ," are you in a hurry or something?" he asked . Kelvin just grunted as he continued with his meal and when it was over he left even though his father told him to stay back a bit .

    The quiet Claire just focused on eating her food as she observed what was happening around her . she acted as if nothing was wrong but deep down within her she was troubled. ever since she caught the lady with Kelvin in the office , something broke inside her . her trust and respect. yes they were married on a plain sheet but the fact that he doesn't look her way nor does he talk to her as normal people does and yet he cheats on her right under her nose made her tightened the lock around her heart and threw the keys into the sea behind the Mansion.

     After the breakfast,the maids came to clear the table as they all returned back to their respective rooms . Linda stayed behind a little with Daisy before leaving Morgan's Mansion. as soon as she moved farther from the building, she contacted her ex - boyfriend who was known as the best and good professional hacker . after giving him some details , she went to a nearby coffee shop to wait for his report.

   And true to her thought , after waiting and getting tired of waiting for almost two hours, she finally received what she wanted . a victorious smile crowned Linda's face as she quickly tapped on the screen of her phone to open the file and read it's contents.

    The smile that was plastered on her face previously withered as confusion sip through her eyes . she just couldn't believe what she was seeing , she scrolled up to recheck the name and pictures again to be sure .

     "Wait ..." Linda drew in a breath and exhaled as she felt like crying and laughing at the same time . she felt something was off from the day the lady barged in on them and kelvin did not fire nor scold her but seeing this now confirmed her suspicions.

      " Relative my hind foot ." Linda spat as anger brewed in her heart. then who is she ?, she couldn't help but ask her self. a different kind of spirit surged within her as she dialed her sister's number.

     "Hello sis.."

    " Hope you are still on the task I gave you ?"

      " Yes ..."

  Linda nod ," good . now listen ,I also want you to keep a track of her outside the company. that is you would also monitor her aside from work ."

  The shocked sister blurted out," Why ?". she never knew a day would come where she would become an  intelligent unit officer for her sis .

    " Just do what I said okay ." Linda snapped which made the poor girl accept without further questions.

    Linda dropped the call as she smiled smugly. no one would ever soil her plans .
