The next morning Gina tried not to do anything and leave Ilyas alone. He was going to find his mate one day and she would find hers. If they were lucky, to have a mate. Not every demon finds their mate, and it was truly a sad thing, she thought.
She tried not to think about him either and avoided him as much as she could. But he already seemed to avoid her. He didn't come to their home for several days to train with Zarin, like he used to do. She would look outside the window hoping to find him there, but would be disappointed each time.
To not think about him was also impossible. She thought about him too often and because she didn't like how things ended between them, it made her sad.
At last, she had made up her mind. She would trust her feelings and not some rules of not liking someone who wasn't her mate or waiting for something that might never come. She was going to live in the moment.
