The Elders

The party was being held at a huge mansion, and the moment Aria arrived, she felt uncomfortable.

There were women and men who were elegantly dressed, and Aria wondered if these women had come to find their mate or to become Alpha Tristan's bride.

"I heard my father saying that this party is being hosted by the Elders." Hailey whispered softly to Aria. "

"The Elders? Who are they?"

"I don't know much, and all I have heard about them are just rumors."

"What type of rumors?"

Hailey looked around to ensure nobody was listening to their conversation and dragged Aria to a corner before she spoke. "I heard that there are five Elders, and they are extremely powerful, but for one to become an Elder, you must first make a sacrifice."

"So they aren't a bunch of old people?"

"I don't know; I have actually never seen one before, but I have heard that the Elders are kind of scared of Alpha Tristan, and the main reason they want him to get a wife is because they wish to find something to control him with."

"If they are as powerful as you say, then why are they cautious of a blind man?"

"You call him blind; my brother calls him a madman that should never be underestimated. Aria, I have been thinking, so I will say this as your friend: forget everything Alpha Milton has told you and listen to only my words."

"But..."

"You can't kill Alpha Tristan. He will end your life before you are even able to blink twice."

"Alpha Milton won't give me the cure unless I....."

"It's a suicide mission, Aria." Hailey shouted in a whisper. Her guilt was eating her up, and if Aria were to end up dead because of her, she would never forgive herself.

Hailey looked around again to ensure no one was paying attention to them and continued, "You are only going to end up dead, and that is why I have come up with another plan."

"What plan?"

"Listen, you must find a way to make Tristan choose you as his wife, and then you must make him fall for you, but do not attempt to kill him, because if he is able to kill his mate, then you won't survive either if he finds out that you wish to betray him."

"Then why should I make him fall for me if I do not wish to kill him?"

"For protection."

Aria frowned and replied, "I don't need protection; I only want a cure for my grandmother."

"Alpha Milton has already given you an antidote that will make your grandmother survive for at least three months, but if you attempt to kill Tristan, he will kill your grandmother first, and he will do so in front of you before taking your life. I have heard stories about this man, and as hot as he is, he is also cruel."

"Aria, make him choose you, make him fall for you, and then make him give you a cure for your grandmother." Hailey said and immediately felt light as her guilt slowly left her.

"What if he doesn't have the cure? What if Alpha Milton is my only chance at getting my grandmother healed, and what will I tell Alpha Milton?"

"You will tell him nothing. You have to pretend to be on Alpha Milton side as much as you can, at least until you have gotten a cure from Alpha Tristan and I know he will be able to find a cure for your grandmother, infact I am certain about it. That man isn't called the Alpha all Alphas for no reason, just trust me."

Aria looked at Hailey and saw the plead in her eyes. If Hailey was right, then this mission that Alpha Milton had given to her will only lead to her death and worst her grandmother's death as well and she cannot allow that to happen. Why did she ever think that she could kill a man that is feared by many even after going blind? Hailey is right, her only chance is marrying Tristan, making him fall for her and then convincing him to help her.

"I understand, I will do as you said but first, he has to chose me as his bride, right?"

Hailey let out a sigh of relief and said "Right." Now the thought of her friend dying will no longer eat her out.

The hall suddenly became quiet and both Aria and Hailey looked at where most of the guests were looking and they saw two men dressed in suit, one of them had a charming smile on his face and was very handsome while the other was holding a cane, with dark glasses covering his eyes.

Hailey leaned closer to Aria ears and whispered "That is Alpha Tristan and beside him, is his Beta Cole. You must find a way to make him yours before the end of tonight's party."
