Inn of night

It was night time, the moon gleamed brightly in the dark sky showering its light on the mortal beings. The moon however, was different from the moon of netherworld, it was as white as milk just like Yu Yan's complexion.

They were on top of a valley, Zhong observes. His hand strongly gripped Yu Yan's hand because they were surrounded by trees and thick bushes,

"I-I think we're in some village... right?" She asked curiously, gazing around.

Zhong gave a slight nod. His eyes darted in very far distance, he could see the streets and houses with layered symmetrical roofs. Maybe they were near some village. He stood up and without saying anything he scooped Yu Yan on his shoulders like a sack.

Yu Yan twisted her body a little because his firm shoulder was hurting her abdomen region. In a hesitating voice she pleads,"L-Lord, you are hurting me!"

But he pretended as if he didn't hear her. And the way she was addressing him annoyed him more. He hurried down to the streets where houses were decorated with bright lanterns. Almost no-one was out , some house's windows were open and faint yellow light was coming out from them.

He continued walking in deserted street , Yu Yan kept her mouth shut after getting successfully ignored by Zhong. She can't even complain that his rock hard shoulder was like digging inside her abdomen. If he didn't get her down she might throw up.

"Are you uncomfortable?" He asked her so suddenly that Yu Yan got startled and messed up her sentence.

Zhong couldn't wait for her answer and got her down. He looked around, this place was lively and full of people. And what's surprising, night marketing was going on.

The females were mostly at the windows of beautiful inns, posing in shameless ways, they had very little clothes on their body.

Zhong gazed at those females , and they winked at him mischievously.

"Ugh! What kind of place is this?" He murmured, fading his gaze elsewhere.

There were no women on streets ,

Many of them seemed to be knights and merchants going into those beautiful inns where those females were lurking at windows.

"It's a red light area my lord , only men visit this place," Yu Yan explained after observing her husband's frown face.

"Ah..I see.."

He was now in a difficult situation, this place was definitely not suitable for Yu Yan. If he were alone,he wouldn't bother looking for a place to stay instead he would have slept in the forest. But nothing can't be helped, he holds Yu Yan's hand barged inside one inn.

"We need a room!" Zhong rudely asked the inn manager who was busy taking orders from customers.

The manager shifts his gaze at the serious looking Zhong. Darting his eyes on his clothing he noticed Zhong was dressed in without a bai robe ,and can see his baggy pants cuffed under the boots geave. His bishop sleeves were also cuffed in vambrace, a golden scabbard hung loosely over his waist . He seemed no less than a royal knight in the manager's eyes.

Beside him stood a angelic looking woman who was also dressed extravagantly in silk with precious jewelleries. Manager could easily tell that those two were in his inn for spending time together or another reason. Maybe this knight has kidnapped that woman for playing with him.

A sly smirk escaped from the manager's lips because he has witnessed these situations before.

"Bang"

Zhong impatiently punched the table, he was tolerating the manager's dirty gaze just for Yu Yan's sake. Otherwise he would have ended his life when he dared to look at his wife with those arrogant eyes.

Everyone in the inn turned their attention in Zhong's direction . Yu Yan with her trembling hands took off her gold necklace and handed it over to Zhong.

"What do you mean by this?"

She looks around uncomfortably and then looks at Zhong , her eyes eager to share something important but her height made it hard. Biting her lower lip she mumbled,"C-Can you bend a little... I-I have something to t-tell."

Zhong obediently bends over her and she softly murmurs near his left ear." W-We don't have money... and without money manager will not g-give us room..so use this.``

His slender eyebrows furrowed and he closed his fist tightly . He gets back to the manager and throws Yu Yan's necklace at him.

The manager examines the necklace and his eyes brighten up. It was a pure gold necklace and the design was rare too. He quickly keeps it in his pocket and calls one servant to direct Zhong and his wife to their room.

"Wait! First let's eat something..." Zhong added, he was not so hungry but Yu Yan's face seemed tired and stressed out. And now he was mortal too , his body was feeling out of energy.

The manager gets startled but quickly nods his head.

The servant guides Zhong to a nearby table.

"Yu Yan, what do you want to eat?" He asked while his eyes darted around. Those men in the inn were staring at Yu Yan with their cheap eyes. Why shouldn't those men stare at Yu Yan, she was so beautiful and elegant looking.

There was no woman in the empire to be this beauty except the four princesses of the empire.

"Is she a princess?" One man asked.

"No way she is not a princess!" Other man answered.

Zhong clenched his fist not because he was angry but because his wife was too beautiful and it was normal for other flies to wander around her. He took off his cloak and tied it around her shoulders.

"L-Lord don't pay attention to them.."

Yu Yan adjusts the cloak and covers her head . Both of them sat for dinner ignoring the other's comments.

Out of nowhere, one rich looking man sat beside Zhong.

"One bowl of noodles here.." that man orders.

Zhong put his chopsticks down and in a very annoyed tone he said,"Leave from here."
