Old Friend

Juverl couldn't explain the feeling that came over him. It was not pain, it was not anger neither was it happiness. The feeling was unexplainable. He had never had that before.

Looking at Anna, he didn't want to talk to her but he was also dying to talk to her at the same time. His heart was pounding so fast against his chest. He couldn't even sit properly beside her.

Anna couldn't read his face. He was fine a while ago so, what happened to him? Could it be that ....?

"What's wrong? Are you uncomfortable? Do you have to use the restroom?" She asked.

"No. I'm alright. How are you feeling now?" Juverl asked with his arms crossed and his legs swinging up and down like a child's after doing something bad.

" I'm fully rested" Anna stretched out her arms as proof of her recovery.

"You look like it" He said in a low voice while looking around.

"How do you mean?" Anna suddenly became serious.

"You seem pretty worried about August. I've been here ever since you fainted, taking care of you, you know?"

Anna was confused. Why was he bringing that up? "Of course you have to take care of me. It's your responsibility" she remarked. "I'm worried for August because it was my fault for getting hurt. If I had listened to him and left shopping to the maids, I wouldn't have gotten hurt and leave him to starve himself?"

"But look how pale I am" he showed her his face.

"You're just jealous. That's why you think you look pale" she brushed him away.

"Who says I'm jealous?"

"Oh come on. It's very obvious" she got off the bed and head into the bathroom.

"Zoom" he called

Zoom came in instantly and kneel before him. "My lord"

"Have you found them?" He asked with a serious tone

"I'm about to. We're keeping tabs on you know who. He's coming here tonight"

"Why?"

"According to the information I got, he has something that belongs to my lady and wants to return it"

"That's unexpected. What could it be?"

"I'm not sure. But I do know that she lost it on the day she passed out"

"Alright then. You may leave"

"my lord" Zoom said while sitting on the rug

"What is it?" Juverl asked

"Are you jealous about something?"

"Why do you ask?"

"Your face is red, my lord"

Juverl bent down in front of him. "Is it so obvious?"

"Yes, my lord"

"You can see it clearly?"

"Yes, my lord"

Juverl pushed his head and he fell down. "If you could find such a slight change on my face then why haven't you found them yet?"

"I'm sorry, my lord"

"Off you go now" Juverl stood up and shoo him away

"Yes, my lord" Zoom sped out of the room.

Anna came out of the bathroom in her undergarment. She rushed her bath because she heard Juverl talking to someone and she wanted to know who it was.

Juverl couldn't help but gulp really hard. He was so aroused by Anna's curves and how easily he could tear off that undergarment. How could a person look so beautiful?

"Juverl" She poked his forehead. "Can you even hear me at all?"

"Of course I can"

"What has occupied your mind so much?"

"Nothing. I'll send your maid to you. I need you to dress wonderfully today"

"How can I look wonderful when all my dresses are black?"

"Because, black looks good on you". Saying that, he left the room.

He sent Aaron to one of Anna's maids to dress her up.

One thing that got Juverl confused was what he was coming to return back to Anna. What could it be?

The door to his chamber opened widely and Steve came inside. Juverl was about to caution him when he saw someone else come in after him. It was a young man in an all white outfit. He had a custom sack in his hand and wouldn't give it.

The young man and Juverl walked towards each other until they stood only an inch away. They began to throw death stares at each other. This lasted for about an hour. Aaron, Steve, Zoom and some of Juverl's soldiers came to watch them.

Yasmine, who was passing by the gate of Juverl's chamber, saw them and couldn't help but make a remark "They always do this"

"Okay, I lose. I give up" The young man said with deep breaths. "I always lose to you"

"And you always will, old friend" Juverl said and they hugged.

"You never came to visit me. Why?"

"I've been fighting a lot lately, that's why. Do you realize that did is the last time you can leave your pond? You'll damage your soul completely if you leave again?"

"I know the risks but you refused to come see me. That's why I came to you instead"

"Are you sure it's not because of my sister?"

"You know more that anyone the reason why I can't have a human wife?"

"I was just joking. Hungry"

"Yes, I am. I'm starved. The fishes haven't eaten anything since I left"

"They must have troubled you a lot. You don't have to carry them around, you know?"

"Yes. But I'm all they have"
