Leaving Home

Finally, it was Anna's wedding night. She had been waiting all day prepared for it. Nothing worse could happen. She was already marrying to Silith, one of the most powerful and dangerous kingdoms to ever exist. Silith had never lost to any other kingdoms, ever. They were perfect to make alliance with.

That's the reason why Anna's parents wanted her to marry one of their princes. What horrible parents they are.

Anna got up from her bed to see the arriving carriages. She saw one in which a handsome young man came out of, with five men trailing behind him and, a woman walking graciously beside him.

Anna couldn't get her gaze off this young man. She just kept staring at him. Suddenly, the young man looked up and their eyes met. Even though she couldn't see him properly, she knew his eyes changed into a slight shade red.

The maids came into her room to get her. "My lady, the groom has arrived" They informed. Anna shifted her gaze from the young man for just a second and the next, he was gone

"What did he look like?" Anna asked out of curiosity even though she wasn't paying attention to them. Butterflies filled her tommy when she saw that young man. But, where has he gone? Scratch that. She was getting married. How could she have thoughts towards another man? Even though getting married is against her will, she shouldn't

"We don't know, my lady. Her Highness asked us to fetch you, my lady" One of the maids said

"Shouldn't father be the one to fetch me? Why you two?" Anna blurted. She was already boiling with anger. "Make haste"

Anna went to the ball room with her maids in pure rage. The wedding was to be held there. When she appeared at the entrance, the ball room became silent and everyone's attention focused on her.

She took sight of the handsome young man which she found earlier on the alter, where the groom was supposed to be. 'Could it be that he's my groom? How could it be? The last prince was said to be ugly. How come he's so beautiful?' Anna thought

Butterflies were dancing in her tommy for no reason she could think of. Before she knew it, she was already on the alter and she regained her conscience in the middle of the vows.

"Do your highness take her highness as your legally wedded wife?"

"I do" The young man said. How could he agree to this?

"Do your highness take his highness as your legally wedded husband?" 'Legally? What's legal about forcing a 21 year old princess to get married to a man rumoured to be the prince of darkness?'

She had to say yes anyway. She didn't want to be locked up with no food or water for her whole life. There were so many people there, saying no would humiliate the entire royal family. The prince already said 'yes'. Who knows what Silith would do if she didn't say 'yes' too

"Do your highness take his highness as your legally wedded husband?"

"Yes I do" Anna finally said

"You may kiss the bride"

'Kiss the bride? I don't want to kiss a stranger who came out of nowhere' Anna thought.

The prince captured her lips with his and the entire ball room was filled with cheers. There happened to be a sharp pain on her lips when their lips touched. The prince sucked on her lips like he'd never get the chance to after that night. She could taste blood in her mouth. Her own blood. He was sucking on it like a leech, sucking the life out of her.

Finally he let go of her lips and looked into her eyes with his piercing ones "For a second there I thought you wouldn't agree. Even if you didn't I won't force you to"

"Yes but, my parents will"

The prince went over to the king and queen. "Thank you for marrying your daughter to me. Shall I stay to have dinner with you?"

"No no no. You have a long journey. Let's not delay you any longer" The king said

"Thank you for you kindness, I shall treat your daughter with extreme care. I shall take my leave now" He bowed to them and took Anna by the arm.

"Father, Mother, are you really selling me for alliance? Can you be any worse?" Anna held back her tears as she looked at her parents with hatred

"It's for your own good. We'll keep your gifts for you just in case" Her mother said

"Keep them"Anna shouted at them

"We're doing this for you, sweetheart"

"Don't call me that" Anna stormed off without her husband. She got outside and saw the people greeting her off. She was happy and sad. Happy that her people acknowledge her wedding day, and sad because she was leaving home.

The prince caught up to her with his Five men. But, where was the lady that came with him? "Let us leave now, Anna" He grabbed her and helped her into the carriage

How cruel? He got to know about her when she knows nothing about him. "You probably know so much about me, don't you?" Anna asked

"I do. I can't marry a woman I know nothing about. I understand how you feel. You'll get over it soon"

'You would know that' she thought "Where's the woman who came with you?" She asked

*No woman came with me"He swiftly answered

'Must have been another guest' she thought" Okay" she told him.

"Something is bothering you. You can tell me anything"

"Nothing. I am leaving home after all" she replied him

"Off to Silith now. it will be a long journey. You might as well just sleep, if you want to"

"No. I am too angry to even close my eyes"
