Chapter 194 A Dark Party 1
Carie's eyes moved around the elite guest invited to the party. With the incident that occurred during Alex's wedding reception, most people refused to attend the Wilson's party anymore. Not to talk of the threat Alex made himself and the undertaking they had to sign.
But even at that, some honoured the invitation cause of the connections they could acquire from just attending. Carie searched for her best friend among the many guest but still could not find her anywhere.
She wondered if Hazel wanted to pay her back for missing her engagement previously and only arrived when the party was almost over.
"If that's what you're up to Hazel, I'll never forgive you!" Carie kept a livid face as she murmured under her breath. "A bride should always smile my dear!" Maria touched her daughters shoulder, patting it gently. "What is the cause of the wrinkles on your cute face?" She asked.
"Mum, I haven't seen Hazel anywhere!" Carie complained.
"That's true, when I saw her this morning, it seemed she was in a hurry!" Maria wondered where Hazel must have gone to, but just as the thought came it flew away cause of the guest who needed her presence. She quickly walked away to go greet her guest.
Carie wondered what was wrong, she didn't know why she felt totally uneasy about this.
When her eyes swooped round the crowd again, she realized Alex was not also present at her party too as his friends were engrossed in their discussion. Her anxiety doubled at the thought that her friend was in deep trouble.
At the entrance of the ball room, three people walked in. Even if the Balowe's disrupted Alex's wedding before, they were still invited to the party as they have apologized for their daughters attitude.
Maya had little to no apologetic look on her face, as she shot her deadly stare at Carie. She wanted the girl dead for destroying her life and ruining her reputation before everyone present at that party.
It was the side talk wherever she went to that she was carrying a bastard for a child. Only whores carry bastards as children cause they sleep around with random men, but she knew who the father of her child was.
Berverly arrived at the ceremony in a dark green dress. She came urgently in search for Alex as she has not seen him since the previous night after putting her to bed. Though Alex has refused to touch her no matter how hard she tried she was still being very patient.
But not anymore, not when she found out from Avery that Hazel was no longer a virgin and was scared of getting pregnant. If that happens, then she can't be with Alex anymore. Berverly was desperate, she had finally come up with a plan and have been waiting for him to get back. But now, she just could not find him anywhere.
"It's about time I saw you, so how are things with your HUSBAND!" Amelia stretched the husband part as she walked up to her daughter. Before the eyes of everyone, they were not close, but both evil women knew what they were doing.
"Mother alot has happened. I've finally succeeded in getting her out of the house, but Alex....!" She paused.
"What about him?" Amelia asked desperately. "He's not interested in doing anything with me no matter how hard I seduce him. It's like he's not even attracted to me in any way!" "I know he's not the kind of man that sleeps around with random women, but I'm his. I mean we used to be a thing!" Berverly added gloomily.
"Don't give up yet Love. He's yours and yours alone. Don't worry much, I have a plan!" Berverly's eyes glowed mischievously. She loved it when her mother comes up with Ideas cause it always works.
At the middle of the event, Carie escaped from the guest back to the mansion. She rubbed her jaw with her palms cause it hurts from the fake smile she had to put up. No one told her fake smiling was a hard thing to do. There were not much people in the mansion since all the maids were busy serving the numerous guest.
With slow steps she climbed up the grand stairs and got to the hallway when her way was blocked by a familiar figure. "Isn't our little Carie happy she's getting married to the Viotto's!" Maya stood before her with a vicious smile on her lips.
"I don't have your time Maya, I have important things to do than talk to you" Carie tried moving away but she was dragged back by Maya. "I don't have the time to talk to you either" Before anyone knew what was happening Carie rolled down the stairs and landed on the floor.
Blood was scattered on the floor as a maid screamed from the horrible thing she saw. Avery and Berverly who walked out of the room when the event took place were shocked by what they just saw. "You... You killed my sister!" Avery blurted out pointing to Maya.
In a bright room held two people, one unconscious and the other staring unblinkingly at the unconcious woman on the bed.
Alex has been sitted in a position for more than five hours staring at his wife who was still unconscious from the substance she inhaled. She looked more beautiful now she was quiet.
