Chapter 111 Engagement Party 40

  "Hello pretty, wonder what a beautiful woman like you is doing with Alex!" A handsome figure said with a smile. "Sorry for the late introduction, I'm Carlos, your husband's cousin!" He brought his hands for a handshake and I shook it. I've never really met Carlos before, even if I have heard a lot about him.

Damn Carlos was handsome and built no wonder Berverly fell for him. "Nice to meet you Mr Carlos!" I greeted formally with a sweet smile. "The pleasure is all mine!" He placed sweet kisses at the back of my hands. I could already feel a strong glare at me, I didn't bother to check cause I knew who it was. He's an asshole and I love the effect I had on him.

"Hazel, come meet my relatives from Thailand!" Mother called tapping my right shoulder tenderly and I responded leaving Carlos behind. "Hello, nice to meet you all!" I greeted the elders. "Wow, Maria, you got the best daughter in-law, she's beautiful, humble and very respectful!" A woman said. What else can a mother ask of!" Another woman in a black dress responded..

I was done greeting the guest, it wasn't easy but I tried. I darted my gaze around, searching for Alex but could not find him anywhere. Alex really hurt me tonight, he couldn't even talk to me, at least his actions would have cleared the doubting thomas. I climbed the grand stairs to the room, so I would have enough time to destroy the range in me.

I got to the hallways and stroded towards Alex's room, but was astonished by what I saw there. Alex was kissing Berverly. I pinched my thighs to be sure I was not dreaming. I stiffened at a spot, my entire world crumbled as tears threatened to fall from my eyes. 

I forgot so soon what my marriage was about, I've forgotten why I got married to Alex. I got carried away by his sweet words and let my heart fall inlove. He pulled out and his gaze fell on me, I stared at them before walking into the room.

This was the reason he embarrassed me before everyone today, I cleaned my tears with the back of my hands, before locking the door. I wouldn't want to see him in the room tonight. I tore the dress from my body furiously, tonight was meant to be my night but he ruined it.

I got into the bathroom and sank deep into the water in the bath, I regretted thinking he'd ever change and maybe like me some day. I was stupid to think he liked me, I just couldn't understand why my stupid heart yearned for him. I laid on the bed after a long bath and crying, and gradually and slept off.

I got up the next morning, took my bath myself and dressed up without any makeup on my face. I opened the door to the room after dressing up, ignoring the greetings from Leonard and his maids and got to the formal dinning room, everyone was sitted, including the bitch Berverly and surprisingly Alex.

I sat far away from him, so as to avoid seeing him. "Good morning everyone!" I greeted without a smile. The three witches on the table knew why I was not smiling and for some reason they kept smiling. I noticed the way Berverly stared at Alex, but I acted nonchalantly. I started eating quietly, "if last week was stressful, then this week is going to be double.!" Mother started.

"Hazel, you need to go on a full vacation this time for your skin since Alex said the dress and jewelries are ready!" Mother said trying to clear the awkward silence on the table. "Is there a need for the party, I mean we're already married!" I said, gaining everyone's attention. "What are you talking about?" Mother asked.

"We might have another case of a missing groom on that day. If last night before the family members the groom could not attend the party? The wedding ceremony holds larger guest and audience, I can't be a laughing stock again!" I said glaring at him then focused on my food. They all knew this was no longer about them so nobody dared to involve themselves in this.

"Thought we were over that?" Alex asked. I got up immediately, cause I couldn't tell what next I'd do there. "I'll see you later mother!" I walked away.
