She's a princess

"It's not something you would like to know. I don't talk to monsters but humans." She said and shifted her gaze from him. The man chuckled at her remark. It was evident that he was determined on nagging her to no end.

"Monsters? I'm human Helena. I'm your uncle." He said as he tried to reach his hands to touch her shoulder.

"No!! You're not my uncle! You're a monster!" She yelled and stepped back a little. Her loud voice caught everyone's attention and all heads snapped towards the man who made their princess yell. His family were glaring daggers at him mentally saying the words 'do you want us to end up in dungeons?!' while Ellie's soldiers walked towards him, prepared to capture him.

Cyrus was the first to approach the trembling girl to check if she was alright. Her hands had turned cold and he could only hope she was fine.

"Is everything okay your highness?" He asked but Ellie didn't respond. Her hands were trembling and were getting colder each second. Cyrus didn't know what to do and instructed to get water for the princess.

"Get water for her and bring two glasses." He instructed and the people of that residence creased their brows. Why would she need two glasses? Seeing their confused state, he instructed again and they nodded. A girl who looked the same age with Ellie hastily went in to get water.

Few minutes later, she was back with a jug of water and two glasses.

"H-here." She said with a trembling voice. Cyrus grabbed it and poured some water in the first glass and handed it over to the girl. Everyone were confused the more, isn't the glass meant for the princess? What's this?

"Drink this. I have to make sure it isn't poisoned." He said and they finally grasped what he meant.

"B-but I d-didn't poison it." She said and Cyrus gave her a hard glare.

"She's a princess and she's not meant to take random things. Hope you understand? Now drink it!" He commanded and the girl nodded.

She placed the glass in her mouth and gulped it all at once. She showed Cyrus a look that said 'see? I didn't poison it.' After making sure the water wasn't poisoned, Cyrus made the princess drink it. She had a little sip and stopped him from giving her more.

"It's okay. I'm f-fine now." She managed to say and Cyrus just nodded.

She was placed on a chair to rest, her maid and some guards were beside her so the rest of the soldiers continued their search. Cyrus went up to capture the man who had scare the princess.

Hey! Let go off me!" Ellie's uncle yelled out but it seemed Cyrus wasn't letting go easily. He glanced at the princess but it looked like she wasn't aware with what was happening. He didn't want to do anything without her permission but this man had hurt the princess and he wanted to punish him.

He violently dragged the man towards Ellie and had him kneel in front of her. "Should I take him to the dungeons, your highness?" Cyrus asked and Ellie glanced at the man she used to call family. Would she be a bad person if she does throw him in the dungeons? Wouldn't it justify all of the bad deeds he had done to her? Isn't that what she always wanted?

She gazed at the man and then his family who were pleading with their eyes. A smirk appeared on her lips and she shook her head. "No need. If I do that, I'll be ranked the same category with him. I'm not a monster..." She paused and looked at him with a mocking smile. "He has a family and I'm not so cruel to take him away from them. Let him be." She said and although, Cyrus strongly objected to it, he had to listen to the princess and let this man be.

He violently pushed him away and stood beside the princess. "Are you okay your highness? It's been a long day." Cyrus spoke and Ellie nodded in agreement. It really was a long day and yet, they hadn't found the plant. Did these people got rid of it? Can they be so heartless even to a lifeless pl -

Her thoughts were interrupted because she heard a loud voice spoke. "We found it your highness!!" It was one of the soldiers, and from his tone, it sounded like he was truly happy and shocked as well.

Ellie's face brightened up and she noisily stood from her chair which startled her maids. Of course they followed her and were also genuinely happy that they found the plant. At least, Ellie would stop being sad and they'll also get to see Amir again.

"Y-you found it? Then let's get going!" She declared and walked hastily towards the carriage, forgetting everyone's existence. All she could think about was to feed this plant to Amir and only when he wakes up will she be able to breath a sigh of relief.

She ran as fast as she could, forgetting the fact that she was acting unladylike. Well, acting anyway wasn't a difference now. As long as Amir's fine.

She was close to the huge gates and as if something or someone called for her, she abruptly stopped. She craned her head towards her grandma who was all smiles, and a light smile also curved on her lips. She strode towards her grandma and hugged her. How could she forget? She's suppose to come with but time is running out! Well, it's not a problem, she'll come some other time and take her away from here. She thought, trying to convince herself.

"I'm sorry grandma." She sincerely apologized.

"I understand dear. You've found someone you genuinely love. We all caused you pain and we don't deserve your love." Grandma said and what Ellie's ears caught was 'you've found someone you genuinely love.' Love? Does she love him? N-no. She's just helping her very close friend. It's not love. Any other person would do what she did for him. It's not love! She tried convincing herself, refusing to believe it's love. 'I know when my heart loves someone. It's not love. This is just genuinely caring for one's friend.'

"Grandma. I-i-it's not love. He's just a very close friend." Ellie managed to say. Her grandma smiled and caressed her cheeks softly.

"You won't know it now, but you would later on." Her grandma said, as if stating a fact which puzzled Ellie. 'Grandma I know my heart more than anyone else. It's not love. I just care for him like every friend would.' She mentally said.

Not wanting to hear any more embarrassing words, Ellie gave her grandma a goodbye kiss and said the words, 'I'll be back soon.' before walking back to her carriage.

Soon enough, they reached the carriage and her maids guided her way in. When everything was set, the carriage moved and Ellie's mind reflected to the words her grandmother had said. 'Hmph! Love?! Never, and when he wakes up I'm going to give him a very good beating for making me worry.' She commented in her head with an evil grin.

Ellie wished to just teleport back to the castle and give them this plant but she knew she couldn't and could only stay patient. She had vowed to herself that no matter what Amir says or does, she won't get angry at him. She didn't want any horrible incident to repeat itself again.
