Chapter 51
Sharon went bonkers and start to bark at everyone, rebuking and calling them names.
The people present could not bring themselves to complain because that will means going against her which is not good for them as she is still in control.
"Sister, why don't you calm down first and then we can discuss about this things and know how to solve this problems. You can't just let that little girl do as she likes" Sharon's sister speak up for the first time.
Her husband as also been sacked and sent back home, even her son who is a senior manager has been demoted recently so things are not really looking well for her.
"Those are your problems, if you can't find a way to make your husband or son competent then am not to be blamed" Sharon responded and everyone shut
up.
"You should leave first, I have more pressing matters to deal with" Sharon suddenly said sending everyone out without discussing the purpose of their meeting.
Everyone of them start to leave reluctantly knowing they can't change her mind about it and will have to find ways for themselves or go to beg Laura.
After they have all left, the maids came to clear the table and clean up everywhere, Nicholas who is sitted and embarrassed about the whole situation sighed heavily and stood up from his seat when he found that everything is cleared.
Sharon seeing that he is also about to leave stops him and instruct him to sit down
"Mom, I don't want to hear anything about the company or Laura today, I have something important to do" he told her and stood up again to leave but she didn't let him
"What is so important? What on earth have you been busy with all week?" She questioned but Nicholas has no reply for her. He wouldn't tell her about Ella and Julie or she is going to get rid of them without his knowledge.
"Even if you are not willing to tell me, I will be sure to find out what that secret is sooner or later" Sharon told him sensing his hesitation.
"I have find a wife for you, the both of two will meet the day after tomorrow and both families will finalize your wedding next week" she informed him and without waiting to hear his opinion she carried on
"If I know that bastard will try to steal your shares then I would have let you get married a long time ago although it's not too late. I just need to make sure everything goes according to plan" she said again and bought out the girl's picture
"She is the last daughter of the Jones and she just finished her studies abroad. Although she is a bit spoilt but she is a perfect match to secure your.."
"Mom, give me a break!" Nicholas cut her off and threw away the picture
"I am not getting married to anyone" he told her although not confidently
"That's okay, if you want me to die then you wouldn't get married" she threatened
""Am not saying I wouldn't get married but not to this girl or any other girl you show to me" he insisted
"What are you saying? Do you have a girl you are dating? Is that what this is about?" She queried but he didn't give a response
"Okay fine, you can keep her as a mistress but you have to get married to the girl I chose for you" Sharon said not minding if he loves someone else already or not.
Nicholas remain silent and when his mother sees that he has no other objections, she continue to go on and on about her plans and his marriage
"Mom" Nicholas called suddenly and Sharon who is getting excited stopped to listen to him
"I have a woman I love and…we have a child together" he dropped the bombshell.
Sharon hand forze in the hair and her body trembled at the news. It feels like a car just run over her body and she stood up to hit him across the face but stopped midway and turned away in anger.
Nicholas remain calm letting her digest the news and wait to hear her response but what she said next leaves him astonished.
"You should get rid of her and let me take care of the child" she said and Nicholas immediately understood that she might to kill her
"Mom? Have you gone totally crazy? How could you tell me to kill the woman I love" he snapped at her I'm disbelief. He knows his mother is strong-headed but still can't believe those words coming from her mouth
"You don't have to involved yourself, I will take care of everything" she told him but Nicholas wasn't taking that from her.
"If you dare touch her mom, I won't forgive you" he said but is met with a slap from his furious mother. Sharon hit him so hard that he start to bleed in his mouth and there is blood on his lips.
"You idiot! I am fighting and doing everything for your future yet you are bend on spoiling everything for us. If you get married to a nameless girl, how are you going to get everything that belongs to you?" She yelled
"It doesn't belong to me, the company, this house and everything you are fighting for doesn't belong to any of us here. Laura's mother worked for these things and not my father" he yelled back and got another slap landed on his face. Nicholas held his face and stare at his mother with anger.
"You ungrateful child, I raised you with everything I have. How dare you speak to me in such manner?" She screamed abd hit him again.
"Mom, I don't care whatever you think anymore. I don't want the company or any shares and am going to marry the woman of my choice so you better deal with it" he declared and left the house. Sharon screamed in anger and the maids came rushing to her, she push them away and passes aggression on them, hitting them also.

Nicholas start driving around the town without any destination in mind, he just fought with his mother over something he isnt even sure about yet. He thought about going to Ella's house but needed to calm down first before going to see her.
Seeing his mother's determination today, he is almost convinced that his suspicions are correct but he still can't fathom his head as to the reason why she will do something that terrible.
Nicholas suddenly stopped the car and stopped in front of a bar, he deliberate on whether to go in or not when he got a call from Ella asking where he is
"hello" he said coldly not able to hide his sorrow
"What's wrong? Are you still coming back?" Ella asked, he could hear Julie's voice also trying to talk to him on the phone but ella didn't allow her
"If its not convinient for you to come then its fine" ella said again not getting any response from him
"Pumpkin, dad will be back tomorrow okay, now be a good girl and go to bed" Ella persuaded before turning back to her phone
"If you don't want to talk then its okay, I will see you tomorrow" she said and is about to hang up when he stops her
"I am on my way" he said and cut the call then drove off to her house
Nicholas arrived in a few minutes and Ella is waiting at the door for him wih their daughter, pumpkin ran out to hug him as he got down from the car and Nicholas carried her up in his arms spinning her around happily
"You are home!" she shouted excitedly
"Home?" Nicholas thought and smiled. Of course this place feels like home than where he was coming from
"Why did you come back home late? Mom was worried and couldn't eat" Julie told him before letting him put her down and held his hand as they walk back into the house with Ella smiling and walking behind them
"You should go to sleep now, its past your bedtime" Ella told the reluctant Julie who still wants to spend sometime with her father. She shakes her head playfully not releasing his hand from his
"Do you want to get flogged?" Ella threatened and stare at her angrily, she dropped Nicholas's hand and ran inside afraid she might hit her
"Its okay, she is just a child" Nicholas told her
"I know but she can be stubborn" she replied
"Give me a minute to tuck her into bed first then I will get the bath ready for you" she told him and exit into the room.
Nicholas sat down and then stood up almost immediately to go prepare the bath himself and freshen up.
Ella came out of the room and when she couldn't find him in the living room, she goes to the bathroom and found him taking a bath there, She turned back at the door to get him a new towel to use, Ella returned with the towel and called out to him
"There is one here for me to use" Nicholas told her
"That's mine, I used it not long ago you should use this one" she replied back but didn't get any reply from him.
Ella stood at the door waiting for him to come out and get the towel but he didn't and in less than a minute, he came out with her own towel wrapped around him
"You… why are you using that? Take this one" Ella strectched the towel in her hand to him
"You want me to remove this one and use the one with you?" Nicholas asked smiling mischeviously, he feels relived of all stress after taking a bath and took the towel from her
"I didn't mean it that way, you should go back in and change it"
"There is no need for that, come here" he told her and pull her closer
"You should dress up first" Ella told said although she didn't reject him. Nicholas start to kiss her slowly and move swiftly to kiss her neck and bossom, Ella allowed him by raising her head to give him full access
"Did something happened at the meeting today?" she suddenly asked and he stopped what he is doing. Ella sensed his strange reaction and is sure that something is really going on
"Nothing happened" Nicholas answered and walk away into the room leaving her behind, ella followed after him
"You should tell me if there is something bothering you so we can talk about it together" she insist and nicholas hestitated not wanting to tell her about his fight with his mother
The both of them sat down on the bed and Ella looked at him eagerly expecting an explanation from him but none was forthcoming, she pester him to talk and he eventually did but instead of explaining what happened at the meeting. He said something else
"How about we get married and become a real family?" he asked and ella was startled by the question.
She wasn't expecting him to say something like that even though their relationship for the past week has been very good and julie also calls him dad
"What do you mean? Did something happened?" she asked again not beliving that is what he is bothered about
"My mum wants me to get married to someone else as soon as possible so I can get equal shares with Laura and take over the company" he finally told her and sighed
"You don't want the company?" Ella asked to his surprise and he chuckled
"I know you don't mean that" he said then stood up to get dressed
"Is that why you want to get married to me? Not because you love me and want to be with me forever?" she queried and he stopped for a second before he continue to put on his nightwear
"I haven't given it that much thought but am sure I don't want to lose you or our daughter" he answered after a minute then returned back to bed to join her
"Julie said you didn't eat dinner because of me, do you want to grab some noodles together?" he asked but Ella declined saying she is tired and wants to retire to bed
"Okay then" he said and they both lay down to sleep, ella place her head on his shoulder thinking about what he just told him. She already knows his mother will set up an arranged marriage for him but it still came as a rude shock to her.
She is more torn and confused about the actual reason Nicholas is staying with her, whether is because he loves her or because of his daughter.
Nicholas sense that her mind is far away and tap her hand gently to call her attention to himself
"What are you thinking about?" he asked but she told him nothing and closed her eyes in pretense to sleep
"If you get to know something about me, will you leave me? Nicholas asked Ella all of a sudden and she opened her eyes wide.
"Something like what?" She questioned
"It's nothing" he told her and closed his eyes to sleep.
"Is he planning to leave?" Ella thought and feared but couldn't express her thoughts to him so it wouldn't be like she is trying to tie him down with the child.
