Marriage Contract with a Werefox Prince

"First of all, Mr Saverio I never signed a marriage deal with you. Second, you are my boss and third, you make me cringe!" His brows raised, "Cringe, how?" "Ever since the day I met you, I knew you are the one. How does that sound? Moreover, I do not believe getting married would decrease our possibility of dying." "So you agree with me that those lines are cringe, right? I wonder what those writers were thinking when they wrote them. But I had no choice." Eva couldn't believe her ears. So her boss had to surf through the net to propose to her? Wow, she must be Alice and he must be Johnny Bravo. He clicked his tongue calling her attention before walking towards her. Eva walked backwards and he proceeded until her back hit the wall. He leaned closer, "It's a myth, it's okay if you find it hard to believe, however, aren't you quite tired of the pain you derive when I'm far away?" She swallowed. It is true, whenever he is near her, the pain disappears, however her body begins to heat up whenever he isn't nearby. They were both cursed and the only way to get through is to remain close. This sounded like a typical drama. "Fine. I will sign the deal but on one condition." A smirk came across his lips as he replied, "How many times do I have to say you already signed it?" He paused, his dark blue eyes staring into her ocean blue ones, "Meaning, there are no conditions. The only condition you need to abide is mine." ××× Eva Lee, a young woman lived a free life, however after an incident that took her father's life, she turns into a woman seeking revenge. Destroying The Camera

As Eva continued to read through the pages, she heard a knock and then she answered.

It was Mr Chan coming into her office with a card, "Ms Lee, this is your RFID card, as a secretary to the CEO you have every access to any floor in the building."

Eva stretched her both hands as a sign of respect when she collected it. She could see her passport on it and knew immediately that it was the passport she had attached to her CV. "Thank you so much, sir."

"Do you need anything?"

"You talked about discussing more about the file. I would like to ask you some questions pertaining to the company and again, I would want to inquire about some things in the spreadsheet-"

"That should be for later, Ms Lee." He looked at her softly before asking, "Anything else?"

Eva blinked her eyes, wondering if there was anything she needed but then, something came right into her head, "Mr Chan, if he is not busy, I will like to meet the CEO of-"

"He is busy. Actually, we have a business meeting to attend to and we are quite late-"

"You...you may go, now," she said, not wanting to be the cause for any delay.

"Right, Ms Lee," he said but added, "I would like to warn you about something if you don't want to get on the CEO's bad side."

Wanting to know, Eva listened carefully as he spoke. "The CEO has ears all over the company, you should talk to no one nor yourself."

"Mr Chan? Whatever do you mean?"

"Well, I do not mean you should not interact with your colleagues, however, even in your office, you have to ensure you don't say anything that belittles him. You know whatever I mean. Like I said, he befriends the wall, he has every ear in every corner."

He added again, "However, even if you discover something strange, you should not act any fun if you figure it out yourself and dare destroy it. If that occurs then, you are good as fired, Ms Lee. And if at all you are fired from this organisation, no other organisation would be willing to employ you."

Just as he was done telling the new secretary, Leon walked out of her office, praying that whatever he had said could be smartly received by her.

Of course, she was too wise not to understand, by now, she should have figured out that there was a hidden camera and a recorder that transmits whatever she says to the CEO.

If Mr Saverio had not come outside of his office and had had his eyes fixed throughout on the screen, then Leon didn't think he would have had the guts to tell her.

As he walked out of her office, he met the CEO on the way and respectfully attempted to collect his briefcase from him but he refused instead, saying, "You are no longer employed, Leon. Do not worry about petty things as such."

"Did...did I offend you in any way, boss?"

Mr Saverio smiled before holding Leon by his shoulder, "Of course, no. Leon, you see, I do not want you putting more information in that file of yours saying that she would also have to take every one of my belongings like a maid."

Leon blinked while hearing it. Quite amazed that Mr Saverio who rarely held a grudge was still frowning about the woman's claims.

Eva, on the other hand, had not walked away from the door when Mr Chan walked outside. She stood at the door, completely stunned and trying to wonder the meaning of whatever he had told her.

However, as she tried processing her thoughts, she heard some footsteps and she could tell it was coming through the corridors. And then, she heard the conversation between Mr Chan and the man she guessed was the CEO.

After the footsteps had retracted, Eva walked to her seat with her mouth still open agape.

Whatever it was that she had heard and whatever Mr Leon had told her seemed to be correlated. And just immediately, as if knowing what it was, Eva immediately stood up from her seat and searched thoroughly in her office for something in particular.

The outgoing secretary had said the CEO had ears in every corner, then it meant that there was a camera installed in the office which she was unknown of.

However, an image flashed through her. It was the image of her smiling as the outgoing secretary handed her a coffee.

"Right! He implanted it...when I wasn't looking. Oh goodness, I am done for!" All the bad adjectives she had used to describe the CEO started reoccurring and all she could do was cry in her head and at the same time, search for the camera.

After a while, she tried searching every part of the cubicle before she spotted a small black object that was placed on a huge flower vase.

Eva looked closely at it before taking it in her hands. "This is it! That bleeding camera!" As she further looked at it, she saw that it had an extra object that was added to it. "And that must be the recorder!"

Before she knew it, out of indignation, with her black heels, she dropped the two small objects on the floor and hammered her heels on them rashly before they dissipated into pieces. However, not until she had destroyed the object with red fury did she recall what Mr Leon had said,

'However, even so, you should not act any fun if you figure it out yourself and dare destroy it. If that occurs then, you are good as fired, Ms Lee. And if at all you are fired from this organisation, no other organisation would be willing to employ you.'

Hearing his words in her head, she swallowed, saying, "Holding a bad record is like being put in jail because you would have no right to work to earn."

After a while of thinking of what to do, she figured out that the only thing to do right now was to clear the footage of her walking towards the camera.

That was the only thing she could do to pull herself away from the mess she had fallen into. She would not let them know that she had found the camera and thereby destroyed it. She would only let it appear as a mystery to them. Of course, she could do it.
