CH355. I have trust in you

"What exactly do you mean?" He asks at last, this time patiently. 

He might be getting mad at someone who he is supposed to maintain his cool.

"I think you are one of the two people I cannot keep this from any longer. My last name is Ye," he says with all seriousness.

Lu Min Chen sits up. What does he mean by his surname being Ye?

Is he her relative? That can explain why they are both Ye's.

"Her relative?" Lu Min Chen asks in confusion.

"Kind of," the man replies, looking at the floor. 

Even now, people still can never tell that he is her dad. They even take him maybe for a far off relative.

"Still, there are some things you cannot do against her will even if you are her relative," Lu Min Chen speaks up, referring to the kidnapping last time.

Ye Fu Chin looks at him and chuckles. "Do you think I need permission to bring my daughter home with me?" He asks.

And that makes the words that Lu Min Chen wanted to say stick in his throat. Daughter? Did he say his daughter?

"You are her dad?" Lu Min Chen ask.

"That is right," Ye Fu Chin replies. But lonliless and regret can he seen on his face. "You have to know that everything I do is for her own benefit. I want her happy and peaceful."

"Then...why do you keep it from her?" Lu Min Chen asks. "And who was Ye Jin Hong?" 

"Uh...that is a long and painful story," Ye Fu Chin answers. "It is not the right time to talk about it."

"Hmm," Lu Min Chen says and looks at the man again. And on his face, there is some resemblance to Ye Xiao Xiao. He should have seen it before.

"She has gone through too much already...especially from your grandfather," Ye Fu Chin says and looks at Lu Min Chen. "But I have trust in you."

Lu Min Chen gets so guilty immediately. His grandpa deleted Ye Xiao Xiao's memories when she was a kid. 

And he is still trying to make things difficult for her. Yet as her husband, he has been a coward all through.

"I am sorry," he says. " I will settle things between my grandfather and me soon. Then no one will trouble her anymore."

Ye Fu Chin shakes his head. "I was not blaming you. I know very well of everything that is going on. And..." 

He stops and puts his hands in front of himself. "Thank you very much for that year you saved her. I just do not know what to say in appreciation."

"You know about that too?" Lu Min Chen asks. Where was he then? Why did he find another man to act as Ye Xiao Xiao's dad then?

The man smiles bitterly. "I know of everything that has happened in her life. And it is all because I was there for her secretly. I tried all I could."
