Feeling useless

[Water Slash Activated]

Cypher swung down the sword at the man in a black suit and with it, a wave of water in a crescent shape came down and sliced the gun the man was holding into two. The man was stunned so Cypher used this opportunity to kick him in his stomach.

The Cypher Squad were currently in a neighbourhood that had been almost completely abandoned.

They were fighting against a group known as the Black Kings, a notorious Versatile Gang known for their black guns which could emit electric charges that could cause tech to malfunction. Normally, the Gyro unit in Kafince City would have been the one handling this but right now, another gang was causing trouble in a place filled with far more civilians on the other side of the city.

'It always feels like someone tries to stop the Gyro from interacting with us.' Voltage thought as he released one of his Volt Bullets which went through the hole of one of their guns and caused it to explode.

Two more of them shot energy bolts from opposite directions from different guns in an attempt to bring Voltage down.

[Thunder Barrier Activated]

Of course, the energy bolts didn't go through it in the slightest.

Meanwhile, the same couldn't be said for Silver.

"Ha!!" A dozen men were shooting out energy bolts at her so she raised up large boomerangs and covered herself.

Without even knowing, she had been hit by a technology-disrupting bolt and she fell to the ground.

'I got hit. According to the news, it takes a few hours before my tech will keep working.'

'Right now, I'm..... Useless.' Jane felt sad as the men began to corner her, each one of them having their other Energy Guns up and ready.

All 12 of them charged up a blast, ready to attack and released them in unison.

But fortunately, Jane wasn't hit by a single one of them because someone had arrived there on time.

"You can't stay here, Ja.. Silver. It's not safe." The boy with black-hair in a ponytail, Shadow told her.

"Okay, thanks Shadow." She told him with her head down and he blushed before interrupting himself and getting back on track with a cough.

[Shadow-port Activated]

Jane and Shadow were teleported a good distance away from the fight and closer to their neighbourhood. Jane had taken off her suit since it was of no use for now and Shadow returned to the battle that was still going on.

As Jane walked through the city with her hands in her pocket and her head bent down slightly, she started to reflect on herself.

It had been 10 years, she had met Ryan 10 years ago.

'Back then, he was a shy kid. Looked like he was always thinking and didn't really fit a five year old. Says me, I still remember 10 years ago.' Jane thought back to Ryan when he was little. When everyone was playing, he was by himself and studying for some weird reason.

'Haha, I remember when the both of us stumbled upon some TV anime when the teacher was flipping channels to the news. The two of us practically fought her for the remote.' Jane thought. 'That's when we became friends.'

Jane saw an empty can on the side walk and passed it.

'Wow, I'm so mature. I went past that can without kicking it. I should celebrate.' A few seconds later, Jane had turned around and kicked the empty can and laughed at herself. It was still a bright afternoon and if she went home now, only her big brother would be around.

'It wouldn't be so bad. Plus, I'm feeling hungry for his cooking.' Jane thought as she moved in the direction of her house.

It took her less than 6 minutes to get there and from the door, she could already smell something delicious which she took a big whiff of.

She opened the door which revealed a living room with dark green couches and a medium-sized tv on the wall. She took off her shoes on the mat and walked to the kitchen where she saw an older male flipping a frying pan and singing to himself while remaining focused.

This male was stunningly handsome and resembled Jane herself. He had rough dark purple hair with gorgeous blue eyes that resembled glistening crystals. He had a firm build and a sharp chin. His skin was also the same tone as Jane.

"What are you making, Jones?" Jane asked her brother casually and he turned to her with a happy smile on his face.

"Nothing much, just my famous Syrup and berry filled pie." He said with a warm smile on his face that always comforted Jane during some hard days.

"Just wait on the couches while I finish up the syrup." Jones told her and she excitedly nodded, ready to taste her brother's delicious cooking.

As she walked out of the kitchen where her brother was cooking, on the walls of the living room which were dark red, there were some framed pictures. They were of her and her brother in some of them, with him winning cooking competitions while she won some robotics or mech contests.

She sat down on a couch and didn't have to wait a minute more before her brother brought out his prize-winning pie on a white plate and served to her.

"Enjoy."

"I-tade-kimasu." Jane told him as she used the fork on the china ware to dig in. As she bit into it, she felt the fairly thick golden syrup supported with blue berry flavot that made her burst with pleasure.

She finished all of it and thanked her brother for the meal. She told her brother that she would be going on a stroll and would come book later.

She looked at her phone to check the time.

"There's still time for me to go get that equipment for a better Dampener." Jane thought to herself as she began to head towards the direction of the store.

As she walked towards the store, she passed by a dark alley where she heard some noises.

"Let go of me."

"Not unless you give me what I want."

"Never."

'Someone's in trouble.' Jane thought as she crept closer to the alley that no one seemed to be around.

"Then you leave me no choice. Ability, activate." The fairly tall man wearing a tuxedo said.

[Wrap activated]

The young girl that didn't look any older than Jane had noticed her and began to look frightened, but at first her face had been indifferent.

From behind the man's waist, what looked like japanese belts of varying blue colors began to form and they tied around the young girl.

"That's Daki's power. How does he have it?" Jane thought to herself.

Suddenly, the man noticed her and turned her.

"What do we have here?" He said as he looked at her with a sinister smile.

As if on instinct, Jane ran towards the man and tried kicking him but when she got a bit too close, he had used one of his belts and grabbed a hold of one of his legs.

'No, not again. I hate feeling useless, I have to be useful. For Ryan, I need to help him to find out the truth about his parents.'

'Because I love him.' Jane thought to herself as she tried to punch the man but he had used the belt to push her back. Jane got back up and ran out of the alley.

"What was that act about being brave?" The young girl tied up thought as if she could read Jane's mind.

Unknown to both her and the man tieing her, Jane had just recieved something amazing.

"Yes, finally. I can be useful to Ryan now." Jane thought to herself, seeing the holo-screen appear in front of her eyes that wasn't visible to the people around.

All of this was truly amazing for Jane, although she hadn't shown it because she had been suppressing the feeling, she felt a bit jealous of Neo and Jason for getting powers.

"If his skills are the same as mine, then doesn't that mean this skill only works on magic users." Jane pondered as she activated the Custom and a white ring formed in her finger.

"Perfect. This suit beats Neo and Jason's and since no one's around..."

Suddenly, the outfit Jane had envisioned began to form on her. Her hair shifted to a whitish-grey color with black wavy lines around it. She also gained a cool, short black dress with two Ks on her breast sides, also some sort of purple container shaped like a boomerang on the left side of her waist. she also had a single purple diamond-shaped gem at the centre of her torso with black ribbons tied on her arm. All in all, she looked like a cool barbarian with a modern and somewhat demonic twist as her eyes also became red.

"Just like I imagined, isn't it?" Jane said as she took a good look at herself, satisfied with the results.

"I'm no longer Silver but someone much, much darker." Jane thought to herself as she ran back into the alley. When she got there though, the girl from before seemed to have disappeared and the man who tried to attack her was now on the ground, rubbing his throbbing head.

"I can't believe they tried to make me apprehend her." The man thought to himself as he stood up but immediately was back on the ground as Jane had kicked him and with her amplified strength, it hurt.

"Who are you? You don't look like any member of the Cypher Squad or the Organization I've seen before."

"Of course not. I am part of the Cypher Squad and I'm new, the name's Kurolinn." She told him with utter confidence.

[Wrap activated]

'He's attacking.' she thought as her Ki Sense picked it up and when the belt came towards her, she dodged it. Another came her way though.

[Demon-Slayer Activated]

Suddenly, a sword with a blade that was wider and larger than Kurolinn herself appeared in the air but she was able to grab it with ease.

"Ha!!" She swung the sword down and the belt cut into two. As it did, a black aura spread around all the other belts and they disappeared.

"What the.. You stopped my powers."

"Where did you get those powers from?" Jane asked him.

"The Organization. Go meet them if you want better abilities but you'll have to lose something in return."

"What?" Kurolinn was flabbergasted.

Suddenly, another belt appeared from the man's waist and he wrapped it around the side of a building and used it to pull himself up like a certain blue and red superhero.

"The Organization? Is that where those Twin Dragons are from? But they didn't seem to have Anime Abilities... Ah, he's gone." Kurolinn snapped out of her thoughts.

"I lost him but it doesn't matter right now, I have information."

Kurolinn detransformed out of the suit and was Jane once again.

Before she left the alley, she noticed something like a piece of paper fell to the ground.

She picked it up and saw that it was an address of the so-called Organization.

"Score! This is definitely gonna be useful." Jane thought, leaving the alley.
