Man lost in Infinity

During Luke Silver's last year of high school, he stumbled upon a captivating book at the library. Intrigued, he decided to borrow it. Little did he know that as soon as he opened the book, a peculiar thing happened - his eyes closed. When he reopened them, he found himself in the body of a boy named Lucke, residing in the human kingdom of Kanull in a whole new world. In this strange world , Luke discovered that the world was a vast place, home to seven different races. It was a world where he encountered magic, witnessed the incredible advancements of technology crafted by the elves, and marveled at the artifacts created by the divine gods themselves. However, amidst this wondrous discovery, Luke also came to realize that humans occupied the lowest position in the societal hierarchy. They were confined to the lawless kingdom of Kanull, struggling to survive.

Chaos in Kanull Part 6

In the southern part of the Kanull kingdom, many people gathered in front of the towering black gates that lead to Havis, the elven kingdom ruled by King Alexander. The sound of chatter filled the crowd as they watched the gates slowly open. Some were curious because usually they would enter through the sewage system or with teleportation magic. The large gates were only used for important events, like the sudden visit of Lady Fiona.

The gates rose up slowly, revealing elven soldiers wearing golden armors and mages, along with officers carrying guns. They had a serious expression on their faces. Asher stood among the crowd, hidden from their view.

Michael, the commander, held his signature sword, an artifact known as the "catastrophe cutter". He walked in front of the puzzled crowd and drew his sword, placing it in front of him on the ground.

"People of Kanull," he said, "I'm sure you're wondering what's going on and why we are here. A few days ago, we were attacked by the monstrous Red Scarlets that inhabit your kingdom. We do not seek bloodshed, but we need peace and your help in finding them. If you have any information about their whereabouts, it would be greatly appreciated."

"We have maintained peace for the past five years. Don't let warmongers lead your kingdom into war. Think about your children, your families. All we ask is for any information that could help us find these Red Scarlets and preserve the peace we've worked so hard to achieve."

"Any information would be valuable."

A man in the crowd raised his hand and the crowd parted, allowing him to be seen by Michael.

"Sir, what's your name? Do you have any important information to share?"

The man sighed and replied, "No, I don't have any important information about the Red Scarlets. But I can tell you that they have helped us in the past. They were the reason we fought five years ago for the future of our kingdom. A future where people don't starve or suffer from dehydration due to lack of water. You could have simply given us access to magic, but you refused. You didn't even share your technology with us. So why should we give you any information about their whereabouts when they have been the ones helping us?"

"Hmm, that's interesting. What's your name, sir?"

"I'm Felix Cross," the man replied. "I have witnessed a lot in my life, and that war five years ago took so much from me."

I'm pretty sure that's true Felix Cross, but many of my people have also been affected. Despite that, we still mourn the losses we suffered in the war. However, your peacekeeper, the red scarlets, has caused even more people in the kingdom to mourn because they've attacked us and killed our families, friends, and children.

I don't understand why we can't put both kingdoms on equal ground. Why not give us the same opportunities you have in the Havis kingdom? If you provide us with access to magic, we can use it to obtain water and create trees to address most of the housing and starvation issues. Why not give us technology that would eliminate the need for fighting?

Because we've worked hard as the kingdoms of Havis, Luric, and Namon to reach where we are. We deserve the technology we've developed, the magic we've discovered, and the resources we've obtained through hard work. Even after the war, we allowed you to access some of our resources, yet you continue to fight and cause chaos in our kingdom.

"We only fight because you give us a reason to fight," a person from the crowd says.

Micheal sighs, and suddenly a gunshot is fired from a distance. The officer standing behind him falls to the ground, lifeless, as blood drips from his body.

People start screaming and panicking while others, who were hiding within the crowd with some of the red scarlets, charge towards the knights, mages, and officers bought by Micheal.

The two groups collide, and the sound of weapons clashing fills the air. Knights use the swords and shields they acquired, while mages use their magic as weapons for defense, control, and healing. The officers stay away from the clash, using their guns to quickly and effectively eliminate the enemy.

Micheal, the commander of the battle forces, watches as many people of Kanull fall at the hands of his forces. They are outmatched because they lack the weapons to defend themselves and attack. Cries come from all directions as houses are destroyed and innocent civilians are killed.

A man charges at Micheal. He picks up the sword he had planted in the ground before him and swings it, cutting the man in half. Blood splatters on his gold armor as his gaze shifts to the lifeless upper half of the man lying on the ground, while the lower half is separated from him.

He cleans the blade of his sword on the red cloak he wears on his back. Suddenly, amidst the chaos, he sees a young man standing before him. The young man is dressed in a black and white suit with a black top hat. He smiles, and his body slowly disappears, transforming into small glimmers of blue light that float into the air and vanish.

Magic? Michael exclaims as he suddenly hears the sound of thunder. He shifts his gaze to the sky and notices the clear sky turning dark and cloudy, blocking the sunlight.

"What's happening?" he asks, and in that moment, the people who had attacked his forces begin to flee.

Bang!

Thunder erupts from the sky, striking down numerous soldiers wearing golden armor. Some of the forces manage to survive with the assistance of the mages, who cast a barrier spell to shield them from the thunderous attack. However, they soon realize another strike is imminent. The mages quickly prepare another barrier spell by drawing a symbol resembling a circle intersected by two lines, creating an X shape. A blue barrier materializes around them, protecting them from the second attack. They swiftly scatter into the empty streets of Kanull, ensuring they are not clustered together when the next thunderous strike occurs. They will regroup once the New Order arrives.
