The princess is a lunatic!

With the exception of being located in the dense Elshire forest, the kingdom of Elenoir is essentially identical to other kingdoms. All elves lived in the vast forest on the northern edge of the continent Dicathen.

They don't truly worship a thing called the world tree, despite what you would think.

Although there is a large tree in their capital, it is not worshipped.

I currently reside in Zesteir, the nation of Elenoir's capital city. The sight of elves roaming the area was quite unsettling.

The large round eyes, smooth hair, and.....blessed attributes were unfamiliar.

New, yet still welcome...

The strangest aspect of my birth was its slight tardiness. I should've been born at the same time as Arthur, but I was born three years later.

I initially worried about whether it was a coincidence or not, but I soon gave up trying to figure it out.

I couldn't care less about how Princess Tessia and Arthur Leywin interacted. Rudeus would have been a different situation, but Arthur was not Rudeus.

Even though he was elderly, I was rather moved by his narrative.

It was a true 'isekai' story rather than a power-crazed brainfart, about an orphan who yearned to experience the comfort of family.

But I wasn't moved enough to make a special effort to assist him. I needed to deal with my own shit. It is up to him how he leads his life. That tenuous fate can screw itself if just one soul's involvement is enough to doom him.….

I feel like I got sidetracked. Where was I?

Right, the continent.

All races had kingdoms in Dicathen.

The kingdom of Sapin was home to humans, Elf-inhabited Elenoir, and Dwarf-inhabited I have no idea where.

Anyway, each race quietly discriminated against the others and kept each other in check as they coexisted in relative harmony in their own kingdoms.

When aliens—specifically, the 'deities'—invaded their world and collaged their own world on top, the equilibrium was upset.

I got bored while reading the script so I just put that file in a separate folder and took the compressed gist of it.

Wait. How does my brain even make unread folders?

Ughh, one at a time…

While the other kids played with their toys, I took a peek around the room.

After teaching us the alphabet, Nanny Bathesda left us to our own ways to read some burgundy books in the corner.

I had completed learning the majority of the library book, so all I did was sit around and consider what I should do next.

I had nothing else to do besides the toe-curling need to awaken my magic core.

Sometimes I would play with the kids only to see their wide eyes stare at me in astonishment.

Whatever anyone may think, I believe that newborns are the cutest creatures ever!

What would a child of mine and Alvitr look like?

I pulled the book from the shelf and flipped it open again.

I never gave any thought to entirely concealing my intelligence.

My country invests more resources in me as a citizen the more valuable I am to it. No matter what world we are in, it was a rule that was upheld by every nation.

However, the nannies weren't as surprised as I had anticipated.

Marissa's prior disclosure of my 'consciousness' to others was the reason behind it. As I read the books, I would still periodically catch a few of them staring at me in awe, but after a while, they would resume their own activities.

A genius will draw attention, but not enough to focus their entire existence on the lives of another person.

Aside from Alice Leywin, she belonged to a different breed....

I've stopped keeping track of how long I've been cooped up in this orphanage, but isn't it time I got adopted or something?

"Iwatogetut" (I want to get out).

I could count on one hand how many times I've been outside.

Mind you, I wasn't detained here against my will. I've repeatedly looked for unusual activity. However, other than money laundering, nothing significant occurs in this orphanage.

The kids aren't bought and sold as slaves to line the director's coffers.

The kids aren't turned into meat after a while like in some horror manga stories. It was a pretty nice place for a corrupt organization…

"Ihatogtoted" (I have to get adopted!)

News flash.

I didn't get adopted. I was scouted.

At the age of four…by the imperia dude in a green Mohawk.

I think I once saw his picture in a paper.

He shook my hands and muttered something fishy before asking me to come with him.

Yes, 'ask' not 'command'.

The gesture alone was enough to placate my restless ass.

I packed my stuff and headed off to the palace, with no idea what I'm being scouted for.

It stung a little to say goodbye to Marissa after so many years. She kinda grew on me over the years.

But I promised to pay a visit every month. The other nannies also gave me some gifts to remember them by.

A smooth departure filled with well wishes.

….Ended in despair.

"AHAHAHAHA!" The boisterous laughter of a 7 year old filled the room as she rolled on the floor, clutching her stomach.

The first thing I was instructed to do after getting inside the palace was to go to the right wing and change into the clothes given to me.

The introductions went off pretty formally.

A maid showed me around the castle to let me familiarize after I kneeled in front of the king and queen.

I toured around 30% of the huge palace before meeting the princess.

A yellow frock with intricate designs laced on it.

Her attire reeked of money….

I was about to greet her and be on my way, had I not been introduced to a giant cake flying towards my face.

"AHAHAHA you look so funny! Lets do that again, I want to try doing that with spice now!

T-this girl wants to smack my face with spice?

No wait. Who is that? This can't be Tessia right? I mean, I've heard of her being a troublemaker from words of mouth, but was it that much?

God.

How much did she change after meeting Arthur?
