DARK ENTITY IN LEXINGTON

It's impossible for Malron to turn the car around and find another route, because it's already too late. The demon had to prepare himself for the possibility that something bad might happen, for the dark sky was no sign of an impending storm.

However, the presence of one of the Stygian Lords had been awakened.

"As soon as we arrive in Lexington, you must hide in a house of prayer, chapel, or other sacred place, Kieran," Malron said in a low voice.

"Why, Lord?" Kieran looked pale.

"Just do it."

There was no guarantee that Kieran would be safe, but at least hiding in those places would buy some time.

"Will this creature come back?" Kieran asked, his voice shaking.

"What creature?" This time Mariel spoke. "What are you talking about?"

Malron glanced briefly in the rearview mirror. "Get out of the car and get on with your lives. We have our own business to attend to."

The car entered the relatively quiet town of Lexington and continued down the streets. Entering Delaware Ave, Malron spotted a church and immediately pulled over. Kieran just slumped in his seat, his face pale.

Malron got out of the car and snapped his fingers. "Let's go, Kieran."

Kieran got out, followed by Mariel. The two youngsters looked confused, but followed Malron hurriedly to the church gate.

Just as they reached the gate, a beam of light appeared above a pillar. Malron looked up to see Seraphine standing there, staring coldly at the demon.

"Take care of the kid," Malron said.

"Your kind will still be after him."

"I'll make sure they don't do it again."

Kieran and Mariel exchanged glances as they saw Malron talking to a pillar. Mariel almost asked Kieran if Malron was sane, but she refrained. After all, weren't Kieran and Malron partners?

The young man standing next to Mariel must be insane as well.

"Malron, I cannot promise anything. Angelic duties are only to maintain the balance of the spiritual world," Seraphine said. "What happened in Albuquerque, we couldn't even contain that major attack."

"Just make sure the boy is safe while I'm gone," Malron replied.

Then Malron turned and glared at Kieran and Mariel, who stood there with frightened faces.

"Get inside," Malron ordered. "Do not come out until I come for you."

Kieran looked at Mariel. "Come on, Miss Mariel."

"Ah... I," Mariel swallowed, "I think it's time for us to part here. Thank you for—"

There was a sudden gust of wind, seemingly out of nowhere. The sky grew darker, and it seemed to come from the Lexington Cemetery. The sound of trees rustling, branches breaking, carried away by the wind.

People walking around began to take cover. The atmosphere became incredibly tense and dangerous.

Malron paid no attention to Kieran and Mariel; he hurried along the sidewalk. Feeling guilty, Kieran ran after Malron from behind.

"Lord, where are you going?" Kieran asked.

"To do my business! Hurry up and get in there!" Malron pointed to the church.

Kieran shook his head firmly. "No, I want to go with you."

"I'm not your babysitter! So just do as I say!"

After being scolded by Malron, Kieran complied. He turned around, then ran toward the church and entered the gate. Meanwhile, Mariel, who didn't know where to go, immediately followed Kieran.

Malron quickened his pace towards the graveyard. Of course, the demon could feel another powerful demonic aura from there, which was getting stronger. And surely one of the Stygian Lords must have sensed Malron's presence.

With the naked eye, humans couldn't see the burst of energy rising into the sky from the graveyard. Energy that emitted green, yellow, and black light, a sign that the ruling demon there was consolidating his power.

"Showing off," Malron muttered in annoyance.

As Malron opened the cemetery gate, a system suddenly appeared.

[Greeting, The Damned One]

[Supplemental Quest: Defeat the Powerful Demon Conjure]

[Will you accept this mission or not?]

"Is that a question or are you trying to insult me?"

[Will you accept this mission or not?]

"Yes, of course," Malron growled.

[Please complete your task and receive your reward]

[Hell always awaits you]

Malron nodded. "Okay."

As Malron stepped inside, a semicircular shield covered the entire graveyard area. There was a lazy exhalation from Malron's nostrils. The big demon was still doing that, it was so embarrassing.

Shields are usually used to prevent enemies from escaping, or vice versa, to protect oneself.

The soles of Malron's shoes stepped on dry leaves, his demon eyes focused ahead as he walked past the tombstones on either side.

There was a human body lying on the ground, wearing a black robe, and its condition couldn't be described as perfect. Its entire body was charred. Several meters in front of him, more bodies were scattered.

Apparently, this demon wanted soul sacrifices when it was summoned to the world. Of course, the summoner master was very cunning. There was only one disgusting demon who had been doing this for thousands of years.

"Ah, hello..."

The voice sounded casual and gentle as Malron reached the center of the cemetery. The demon saw a figure sitting on an angelic pedestal. Green hair cascaded down its back, its black body color mixed with jade stone.

The figure covered half of its face with a fan that matched its body color.

"So extravagant, Slimey," Malron said lightly.

Next to the pedestal, a figure in a black robe stood and stared at Malron. As the demon had already guessed, it was the Summoner Master.

"Who is he?" the Master asked in a tense voice.

"An old acquaintance," replied the figure sitting on the pedestal. "Go away, Master. I will face him."

"Destroy this human! And find the boy named Kieran, do you understand?" demanded the Master.

The green-haired demon on the pedestal nodded lazily. "Yes, yes, of course."

The master ran to another exit door of the cemetery, leaving Malron standing where he was.

"Your business must be bad, so you're taking orders from lowly humans, Relgriz?" Malron asked.

"Um... I know you're a demon, but who? Seems like I'd almost forgotten."

Malron grinned. "Well, it turns out you're getting old."

The trident appeared and Malron struck immediately, then the human body changed into the true form of the demon.

Relgriz's smile widened, "My goodness, Malron. So it was you who sent Nesses back to our world?"

With a single swing, Malron's trident targeted Relgriz. "And this time it's your turn to go back to hell."
