Chapter 39. The Battle of 3rd District(3)

Boom!

A huge punch smashed down towards Ghislaine, but she quickly dodged it with her incredible reflexes.

And then with no hesitation as if the sword was not a weapon but her another part of her body, she striked it at the arm.

Clang!

"It's tough like iron!"

The sword couldn't cut through that big arm of the man and she didn't used more strength and jumped back to retreat from the man's reach.

"Damn!"

Annoyed by the fact that he couldn't hit her, the man slammed both of his fists into Ghislaine like beating whack a mole with anger.

But Ghislaine's reflexes were much ahead of his blunt and simple attacks. She just dodged all of it running using both her legs and arms which were a kind of habit as an demi-human, and then jumped and pushed her sword directly into the eye of the opponent!

"Aaaargh! You bitch!"

"Tsk! It didn't go to the head."

She pushed her sword with the intention to push it through his eye to his skull, to kill him by injuring his brain from inside.

But it seems the bones were much stronger than she could imagine.

"Is he really human?"

And Ghislaine started to gave doubts. It her opponent was some demi-human, or a monster she wouldn't be shocked by the prowess, but it was very hard to believe that her opponent was a human.

He was big, very tall to make her small, and is fat and strong, and from his fighting style it seems he just pushes everything through strength.

And it would be hard to believe but it was truly Ghislaine's style.

She always believe that most things can be dealt with violence.

"It's nice."

She grabbed her sword with both of her hands and then with a shout, the air around her started to vibrate.

Her aura started to pour out of her body and it was so intense that the man - Gray was overwhelmed by her presence.

The aura slowly started to condense around Ghislaine's sword. And it became a sword, an aura sword!

<3rd Tier Aura Technique - Aura Sword>

A large aura sword was covering her sword, and her hands were covered with "Aura Reinforcement" like hand armors and she looked at Gray with the aura sword at her shoulder.

"A-aura sword! You are a 3rd tier aura user!"

Gray who just seemed to be overwhelmed by anger took a step back in fear. Anger turned into fear in a flash of a second.

Aura. One of the most popular power system used in this world. Aura users use their body energy to attack and defend.

Unlike magic where talent is a necessity, aura doesn't need that.

Of course talent helps someone to use aura more efficiently, but the fact is that even if someone doesn't have a talent can use aura as long he trains his body.

That's why aura is most popular power system used in this fantasy world. Though becoming a grandmaster is a another matter.

The reason Gray freaked at Ghislaine being a 3rd tier aura user lies in the levels of aura users.

1st Tier or 1st Star Aura User. They can only use aura to enhance themselves. The capacity of enhancement primary depends upon the two factors.

The body itself, and the control.

2nd Tier or 2nd Star Aura User. They can use aura enhancement more efficiently and properly making them more strong, but the new thing about this level is that they can also use "Aura Reinforcement."

When they make another aura ring as a sign of level up, it makes them able to use reinforcement.

Enhancement makes them able to enhance their different body parts such as arms or legs for more strength. But Reinforcement is totally different.

Aura Reinforcement makes a cover of aura around any part of the user which can help them to attack or defense.

Like Ren used it to punch Asagi's blade directly. If he punched without reinforcement then that blade would have pierced his fist.

And Kane used it to block Asagi's sword strike, though his control was lacking making him unable to use it more efficiently.

Just like enhancement, reinforcement is extremely useful aura technique.

But... Still, it's quite easy to defeat 1st and 2nd tier aura users. With enough strength and combat prowess one can defeat them with not much effort.

Ren could also be defeated if he didn't had his Ether Gear which helped him to give more strength.

And that's why 1st and 2nd tier aura users are known as Novice Aura Users.

But after that comes 3rd Tier. 3rd Tier Aura User. It is the real beginning.

And to reach this level, one has to be able to manifest "Aura Sword."

Aura Sword. A complete sword that is made of aura. It is a totally different technique from before ones. With aura sword, one can even wield a spoon as a sword.

Though it might break not being able to handle the intensity of aura manifest on it.

The point is that aura sword is very hard to comprehend. It needs the user to release aura outside from the body and control it to materialize.

It gives extremely strength and sharpness, and is able to pierce and slash through pretty much everything as long you use more pure amount of aura to manifest it.

In simple terms, in 1st and 2nd Tier, the users are only able to user aura inside the body. But in 3rd tier it changes, since it makes user able to use aura outside the body.

And because of it 3rd tier aura users are known as Advanced Aura Users.

And to reach 3rd tier, it truly requires talent. And Ghislaine who isn't even an adult, is able to manifest an aura sword.

She is not a simple aura user. She is a monster, considering able to manifest even before Artoria.

She wielded her sword like it was a part of her body, and when ever she swung it, the green trail of aura trailed behind it.
