Rita & Joe (Alter:Re) Chapter 2 "A Mom On Wheelchair, A Grown-up Boy and Everything That Follow"

"Kwaaakk!! Kwaakkkk!! Kwaakkk!!"

Beneath a clear blue sky, the crows cry above a small hut with two girls beneath its rooftop sitting to each other on the stair of that hut.

"What a nice day . . . like ever before"

" . . . Why are you said that?"

"Say what?? I just say, what a nice day is it . . . like ever-ever before"

Joe begins to make her face a little bit angry with the easy-going face that Rita makes while saying something like that.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY THAT!! DO YOU REALLY LIKE TO BE CHASED BY ZOMBIES OR GET IN THE LIFE OR DIE SITUATION OF FACING ZOMBIES THREAT??!!"

"Akh . . .!! you're as loud as ever right in my ear, aren't you Joe?"

"Huuuft . . ." letting out a long sigh, then Joe continued her word, "I just can't comprehend the way you are thinking Rita, I mean isn't it good to have another peaceful day as ever?"

The sun shining upon them while the zombies walk slowly in a far place from them.

"It is a truth that is it better to have another peaceful day, and I know how important it is to survive for the sake of mankind continuation in this zombies apocalypse world, but . . ."

While stopping her word purposely, Rita directing her glare at Joesellyn face.

"What?? just say it, don't delay phrase on purpose like that! It's feel bad on my gut, like you want me to know something you want me to know, without you say it to me first"

"Hmpft . . ."

"Kwaaakk!! Kwaakkk!!"

Another crow perched on the rooftop of that hut as the cumulus cloud passing on the top of them and hide them from direct sunlight of the day.

"It's been 5 years long since the first zombie disaster appears, isn't it Joe? Since that time many humans were caught up by the zombie and get turn into one. And it's repeated again and again every day for the last 5 years until the number of the survivor can be count by a four-digit number in every region right now. And besides the zombie surviving situation human races have to face, there also appear many new problems about the food stock, land ownership, and anything else that people have to confront every day.

But after the long-surviving situation human races have faced for these last 5 years, the zombies began to change all of sudden. Their movement was no longer as aggressive as before, and their move pattern no longer centered on a big gathering ecology group anymore. Right?

There is also a story of some bravery and strong zombie hunter group 1 year ago that succeded eradicate whole a lot of man-eating zombies anywhere on the globe. It's was amazing of course, like there is some new light shining on the face of the human race and bring new hope for building the new civilization. But suddenly that group disappear, leaving no trace at all except the legacy of the new world of fewer zombies.

Nowadays, what is left is the new way of an everyday surviving manual from the world government the World United View (WUV) to follow that keeps making us have to live in a smaller independent group, to prevent a big mass of zombies turning accidents to happen."

"yeah, I think it's the right thing to do to keep the continuation of the human races. What wrong with that anyway?"

"Kwaakkkk!! . . . Kwaakk! Kwaakk!"

One crow leaves the rooftop by flying as another cumulus cloud passing over them and blocks the sunlight.

"Really?? How can you be so calm about this anyway!"

"What do you mean by that?"

"I mean the continuation of human races Joe!!"

While holding Joesellyn hand on the floor, Rita brings her face closer to Joe's face until making Joe herself brings her figure backward in an angle with an ugh! faces.

"I . . . really can't grab about what you want to tell . . ."

"IT'S ABOUT MATING JOE!! MATING!!"

"Mate . . . ing??" get puzzled to the word, Joe tilting her head sideways.

"yeah! It's the most compound need of human races to pass on to the next generation, isn't it?

"hemp . . ., yeah I think you right on that area"

"I told you so!! It's the compound need, but to mate, we have to meet the one we love, the destined ones!"

"so . . . you want to try the dating application, isn't it? I'm sorry to tell you this, but even if we found one of the fully functional android phones, I think they're no more working internet operators anymore after the last 3 years ago. So get it done with the Internet myth already!"

"It's not what I want to say, by the way why the hell does the dating applies come out of nowhere?"

"Then what do you want? You want me to be a boy? Is that what you want? Just for your information, I'm not into that lesbian thing at all!"

"SO DO I!! Jezz, just stop taking a conclusion out of nowhere and listen to me!"

"So . . . what do you want?"

"Let's do an adventurous journey to find the destined ones! Yeay~"

She stands up and cheers while she said out loud while shouting with her right palm fist to the sky.

"HAAAAHH?! No, I can't approve of that"

"Whyyyyy~??"

"BECAUSE we have a farm and a field to take care of, also we should distribute it for the villager, SOOO if we go on a journey WHOO GONNA TAKE CARE ALL OF THAT ?!"

"Kwakkk!! Kwaakk!"x2

The sun begins to leave her place as the day blue sky had to switch with the afternoon orange sky, together with some crow who fly low on that sky.

"Akhh . . . ! You yelling on my ear again"

"Just get over it, we can't leave the villager who depends their daily life on us"

"Yeah, actually it only three chicken dens, and one acre of vegetable field, isn't it? Why don't just give it to old man Gary to take care of, I'm sure he won't mind about it"

"yeah, you're right that he won't mind about it. BUT I MIND!! It's the only legacy from our grandfather, you know!"

"Akhhh!! . . . I never get used to your direct-ear-scream attack"

"I know you bored with all this daily stuff of nothing special coming up except than that daydreaming-walking-zombies, but just get used to it and don't think too much so you can survive longer"

From a little bit afar can be seen one zombie walking while trying to grab a butterfly.

"What another peaceful day isn't it?"

"Don't start it again!"

"Jezz . . ."

". . ." Joe glaring purposely at Rita's dissatisfied face.

"Waaaiiitt a minute!"

"What?"

Suddenly Rita's face looked surprised at the event she saw as Joesellyn directing her view to the direction Rita sees.

"Joe, who is that?!"

From afar they can see a boy and woman in a wheelchair look hurried running from something.

"who the hell is that?? They're not the villager here!"

Right behind them, a zombie can be seen walking toward them with its hand trying to grab them.

"Joe, isn't it like they're looked in trouble?"

"wait a minute Rita. . . there is something wrong with the zombie"

The boy who prodded the woman's wheelchair suddenly looks so panic and intuitively rushes upon a medium rock on the ground that leads to the fall of both the boy and the woman.

"WHAAA~!!!! IT'S LOOKS REALLY BAD JOE, LET'S DO SOMETHING!!"

"Just wait a minute, try to take a good look at the zombie approaching them!"

"hmm . . .? hmmm . .?? hmmmm?! How come is that zombie losing all its teeth and jaw?"

"not only it's teeth and jaw, but take a good look at its nail, it's all gone! it's a harmless zombie!"

"Woah! How can it happen? Strange isn't it?" so said Rita while tilting her head sideways.

"it's like been set by someone, maybe it some kind of trial of courage?"

On a far, the falling boy rises and seems panicked looking around him. Then he rushes to the dried branch tree the size of a baseball bat and picks it. But the harmless zombie keeps approaching and is now so close to the woman that lay on the ground.

"Hey Joe, isn't it look pretty bad actually? I think now we should help them!"

"wait a minute, look the boy rush back to that zombie! Maybe that woman was his older sister?"

"Woah! he blocks that zombie from approaching his sister by standing in front of that zombie, even he is a little bit tremble?"

"his figure looks weak, but he forces himself to be a shield for his sister, I give my appreciation for that!"

"Joe look-look! He rises that branch even he is trembling non-stop!"

"Woah, what courage he has! Wait a minute, what is he doing? He just pokes that zombie, is not gonna finish the problem isn't it?!"

Worried Joe and Rita hurriedly running toward them, but before they can reach them suddenly a flat rock out of nowhere goes flying and broke the zombie's neck and kill the zombie. And for a split second, a flash of a man figure was seen hiding behind an apple tree.

"who is that?" so said the puzzled Joe, but non-stoping due to the worries of that two falling siblings on the ground.

"are you ok?" so said Rita to the boy as Joe helping the woman to sit back in her wheelchair.

"Yeah, I am ok. Thank you so much for helping us back there, I thought it's going to be our last" so said the boy while hugging Rita's leg and crying out loud.

"Ehh . . ehhh . . , n- no problem, and it's not . . " Rita suddenly stopped her word by seeing the women in the wheelchair panicky try to make a signal that like saying 'don't say it, it's a secret' by showing her hand to Rita.

"eh, what? sorry, I can hear you, can you repeat it?" while keep crying the boy asks Rita.

"ah, no it's nothing hehe"

"Kwakkk!! Kwakk!!"

the crows fly and stop on the rooftop while the sun is setting up.

"I am Hal and this is my mom, it's nice to meet you, and once again, thank you for helping us!" the boy thanked Rita and Joesselyn who standing in front of him.

"no, it's not a big deal! I am Rita and this is Joesse . . . WHAT, is she your mother?"

"hi there, I am Hal's mother, nice to meet you girls" the beautiful woman replied Rita introduction, while Rita and Joe see her in surprise.

"how come you are his mother? aren't you too young for it?" so said Joe with surprise.

"hi hi, many people say that, but actually I am on my forty right now!"

"Woah, I can't believe it . . . ! By the way how come you two caught up on a situation like that?"

"hmm, about that it's a little bit a long story actually but in short we travel for something from Kansas and eventually come to this village and run against that zombie"

"so you two come from Kansas by walking?"

"no, we walk like this just recently due to my injure on the leg that allows me on this wheelchair condition"

"owh . . . we sorry for that"

"no, it's ok"

"so are you still planning on going on your journey?"

"YES! WE HAVE TO, ITS TO END THIS ZOMBIE ERA FOR GOOD!" suddenly the boy replied excitedly.

"Whaa~! oh, so the journey purposely for ending this zombie . . ."

"SO IT'S FOR ENDING THE ZOMBIE ERA ISN'T IT!!" Rita suddenly cut Joe's word and excitedly join the conversation.

"Yes, there a piece of information that somewhere on this continent there is a mass influential weapon of zombie eradicator use build by a mad scientist a long time ago"

"eh really~, then you must need more people on that journey right?"

Shocked at what Rita said, Joe takes initiative by grabbing Rita's sideway and whisper in a little voice to her.

"waaaaiiiit a minute Rita, is it your going on a journey to kill your boredom plan again? Just for your information I am against it"

"Just take it easy Rita, all will turn to be ok!"

Then Hal's Mother jumps to the conversation.

"So, you wanna come along? it will be merrier if both of you want to come along!" so said Hal's Mother.

"eh, is it ok?!"

"wait a minute, actually we not really ready with the stuff we want to bring and else"

Joe look panicked to handle Rita's excitement to go on a journey.

"Actually I already prepare it!" surprisingly Rita show two backpacks out of nowhere.

"Woah! Then its decision isn't . . ."

"WAAAIIT!! how about the hut and the duty for the farm and the field?" so panicked Joe cut Hal's Mother halfway.

"I will take care of it for you! Don't you worry and take the journey girls! Go save the world!"

Out of nowhere, an old man shows up upon them.

"Gary?! Where do you come. . .? wait a minute, when were you here?"

"I already heard the conversation, and I think it's a good idea! do you know Joe, when your grandfather was still alive he used to worried about how you gonna find your mate one day, so just go on the journey and get some boyfriend to get married!"

"wait, what are you talking about! Why is it about me suddenly??"

So said Joe rejects the idea of taking the journey, but after a long conversation of convincing Joe, they take their leave to the next city under the orange sky together.

. . .

"WHY IS IT BE LIKE THIIIISSS!!!" so said the frustrated Joe to the sky above.

And that's how they began their journey to find the mass influential weapon of eradicating zombies.
