Chapter 64: Punishments and Promises

Twenty minutes later, my hair was damp, but I was in a dry uniform as I headed to the Headmistress' office. My stomach felt like it was in my shoes with each step I took. I was still shaky as though I was getting over the flu.

I knocked on Headmistress Olsen's door.

"Come in," Olsen said, and I entered.

She was sitting at her desk with files in neat stacks across the top. Jasper, Kento, and Reed stood across from her and behind the visitor's chair. Jasper combed back his surfer-blond hair while Kento bowed slightly. Reed wouldn't even look at me and his actions stung deeper than I thought they would. I should be used to his rejection by now.

"Have a seat, Ms. Dane." Olsen opens a dull, yellow folder, peering down at it before she said anything else.

I'd rather stand, but I still felt weak from the Kraken encounter, so I sat down. Part of me was disappointed that I didn't get to see it or even a sprite.
