Chapter 46: How to Make a Wand

I tossed and turned the entire night. Thoughts bounced between excitement that Kento had finally kissed me, to Reed who seemed to be pulling away, to why Jasper had seemed upset and not his usual joking self. When my mind wasn't on the three gorgeous guys, it was on my real mom and my aunt.

How one had rushed into magic as deep and dark as she could get. While my aunt had practically shunned it and had wanted me to do the same. Had she been worried that I would turn out exactly like Alice? That I was predestined because of what my mom did when she was pregnant with me? Had she wanted me to come to this Academy because she was afraid of my power?

When my alarm went off, I dragged the pillow over my head. I didn't think I could do this. Another day of classes and screwing up. But a pang of hunger hit my stomach. I hadn't eaten anything yesterday except for the rice cake and a couple of bites of jerky.
