After Alex left with the lady, his friends also took the initiative to leave. They left Larry and the rest with a sigh before returning to talking while walking towards the school entrance where they bid each other goodbye before going their separate ways. Jason and Max did not bother to take a cab home but insisted that they continue to walk their way home.
"It seems like Alex is very fearful of the woman that came to pick him up" said Max while they were walking home.
"It seems like it, do you see the way he even behaves towards us like we were good friends with each other"? asked Jason with a chuckle.
"Yeah he even bid us goodbye which is unlike the Alex I know" replied Max who wore a confused look on his face.
"Could it be that the woman was actually Alex's mother"? asked Jason since the only person who would be able to make a person like Alex act that way would be someone he wants to leave a good impression on.
"She is not his mother, I have met his mother countless times when coming to school" replied Max.
"Since you are saying you have already met his mother then who could she be"? asked Jason curiously.
"Don't have any idea but since Alex was actually fearful of her, she had to be a relative or something" replied Max who seems happy at the way things turn out.
"It could be possible" said Jason as he gave it a thought.
They walked for a while discussing about other things before arriving at Max's place where they went in after the door was opened by his father who seems to be going out, when they got in Max and Jason were just about to head to his room when Mrs. Kovacs came out of the kitchen while holding a bottle of water and was walking towards the living room when she heard Jason and Max greeting her and she smiled before replying them.
"Good afternoon kids, how was school today"?
"It was okay mother" replied Max while walking to his room.
When she saw them walking toward Max's room she noticed that they did not greet the guest that was watching a movie in the living room and she chuckle before calling out to them as they stop walking and turned back to ask Mrs. Kovacs if there was anything she needed help with but before Max could say a word, Mrs. Kovacs quickly asked him while still smiling.
"Did you guys greet the guest that was sitting in the living room before going to your room"?.
Max was stunned by his mother's question since she was the only one at home.
"What guest are you talking about, ain't you the only one at home?'' asked Max who was still confused about the question.
"Did you bother looking at the living room before going to your room at all?" Said Mrs. Kovacs with a sigh.
"I thought dad was the one that left the tv on before going out" replied Max surprised that there is actually a guest in their home.
They walked back to the living room where they saw a fair lady sitting on the sofa while facing the tv. She seemed to really focus on watching the movie, when Jason saw her, he became surprised because the guest Mrs. Kovacs was actually talking about was actually Aunty Mira. Jason walked up to her and greeted her while still confused about why his Aunty was there.
When Aunty Mira heard the familiar voice greeting her, she turned around only to see Jason standing beside her while looking at her in a confused way and she could not understand the reason why he was looking at her like that and had to ask him directly.
"why are you looking at me like you have seen a ghost"?.
"I'm sorry for looking at you strangely but I find it difficult to understand why you are here" replied Jason while he was still.
"Oh is that the reason why you are looking at me like that, in case you don't know I am here for a visit" replied Aunty Mira while smiling at Jason.
"Okay Aunty Mira, I forgot that you already knew Mrs. Kovacs" said Jason with a chuckle.
"Hahaha, silly child, do you know that I would have gone if not for Mrs. Kovacs telling me to wait for your return since you will be coming here " replied Aunty Mira with a faint laugh as she began to play with Jason's cheek.
"I'm sorry for wasting your precious time because you were waiting for me" said Jason.
"It's nothing besides this way your mother will be too stressed thinking of how she is going to take you home, so it's better that I take you home". replied Aunty Mira with a smile.
"Good afternoon Aunty" said Mira after seeing that Jason and his Aunty are done with their conversation.
"Good afternoon Max, how are you doing?" Asked Aunty Mira while smiling at him warmly.
"I'm fine thank you" replied Max.
"Mrs. Kovacs already told me that you guys always study together after coming back from school, so if you kids don't mind you can go and study while I watch my movie peacefully" said Aunty Mira while increasing the TV volume.
"Okay Aunty Mira, we'll be taking our leave now and give you time to enjoy your movie" replied Jason.
Aunty Mira only smiled at Jason while giving him a hint to leave quickly before she turned her head to face the TV. After being told to leave the living room and go and study, Jason and Max went back to the room but on their way, they saw Mrs. Kovacs who was walking toward the living room, and winked at them when she saw them going to Max's room.
When they got to his living room, Max first of all drops his bag on his bed before taking off his uniform and went to the bathroom to shower, and later came out while cleaning his wet hair with a towel before putting on some clothes and went to sit on his bed where he picked up his bag and took out some notebook. When Jason saw that he was done bathing he also brought out his notebook and they started by studying for a long time while Aunty Mira and Mrs. Kovacs were busy watching a movie while making some comments about the movie.
After they were done studying, Jason put his notebook back into his bag and went to the living room where he saw them still watching the movie before calling out to his aunty and telling her that he was done studying. Aunty Mira got up and picked up her bag before thanking Mrs. Kovacs for keeping her company and bid her a good day before leaving their apartment with Jason and heading for their home.
