Chapter 24

"Haruta!"

I could hear my guild members slightly. However, it was a muffled sound.

Were we going to lose?

I finally thought of an idea when laying there. I knew I could at least not let them die. At that, I shot my hand up in the air with the last of my strength. "I then yelled out victory."

A few seconds passed before something happened. I opened my eyes again and looked at my hand. There was a luminous ball hovering above. I tilted my head to the right and saw a beam coming out of Sakura's hands. I then tilted to the left and saw Yazoyo doing the exact same thing.

Then suddenly another beam shot out of the ball hand hit the other guilds. Looking at their HPs, it was lowering quickly.

"Ah." My vision started to become fuzzy, and then I blacked out.

Our first goal in this game was to have fun. However, that turned to something for the worse: fighting 'til the death. I guess dying wouldn't be so bad now, but did I save my guild members? I don't know...

I then felt something wet press against my head. I wonder what this was.

At that, I slowly opened my eyes and saw a girl. "I'm sorry, did I wake you?"

I opened my mouth, but no words came out. Who was she?

"Haruta! You're awake!" I saw Yazoyo and Sakura run to me.

Wait...were we done with the battle?

"This girl here healed you. She is a Priest! Isn't that cool?" Yazoyo grinned.

A priest? That would be useful to have in a guild.

I then slowly pushed myself up.

"Ah, you shouldn't move!" The girl helped me.

I then looked at her with stern eyes. "Would you like to join our guild?"

The girl then looked at me with a confused expression. "Huh?"

"Is that all you think about?" Dana asked as she walked into the room.

"Well, it's important to have a supporter, is it not?" I reasoned.

"I suppose." Dana nodded his head.

"I don't mind." The girl answered.

The four of us suddenly became quiet. Dana, Yazoyo, Sakura, and I stared at the girl.

"You really want to join our guild?" Dana asked with a shocked expression.

"I mean, it can't hurt, right? It's better than not being part of a guild at all." The girl continued treating my wounds.

Did she say, "not being part of a guild at all?" Don't you have to be part of one in order to stay alive in this game? Even Dana had to be part of a guild.

"What do you mean by 'not part of a guild?' It isn't possible to stay alive in this game without being part of one prior to the guild battle." I decided to press further.

The girl then flinched when I asked. I wonder if something happened with her guild.

"Well, you see..." The girl hesitantly spoke. "My...my guild died. We lost our leader after the guild battle. I was curious about what skill you guys used, but when I came towards you guys, I saw how badly this girl was hurt."

So you are able to live even when your guild dies? Well I guess it worked for Dana's, right?

"I understand." I took hold of the girl's hand. "Join our guild."

The girl then began to cry. "Of course."

After, I sent her an invitation. "Syrus has joined the guild."

"Welcome to the Powerhouse, Syrus."
