Chapter 24 Artifact

As expected of the red light district, but I was not even there yet, I could see the red light district in front but the lady in front of me didn't want me to move.

I stared at her and noticed she was also wearing fancy clothing, but not as fancy as mine, she might be a merchant who sells goods, and since the upper part of the city didn't have a red light district, she had to come here, but I didn't come here to have sex so I'm just going to refuse.

"I'm sorry, I didn't..." before I could finish speaking I saw another lady running towards me, at the same time the lady also saw her and she grabbed my hands and wanted to pull me away but I stood my ground and he couldn't move me from the spot I'm standing.

The other lady quickly arrived and it seemed both of them knew each other, and just like the first lady the second lady was also wearing expensive clothing.

"I'll pay you well, how much do you want?" She asked.

"Pay me for what?" I asked, I knew they were talking about sex but I still asked.

"Pay you to have sex with me, my apartment is big and...wait your clothes, are you from around here?" She asked.

"No I'm not, I came to look around and I'm not selling my body for money, I don't need money" I spoke and the first lady let go of my arm.

"Then do you want something, are you in the magic academy, I sell magical artifacts so I'm sure you might be interested in some of them, and I recently acquired a priceless one" the woman spoke with a smile on her face.

'Artifacts... I've heard of magical artifacts and they are divided into grades from weakest to strongest, if she actually has a powerful artifact, then it might be worth my attention but it's already getting dark, I looked at the woman and the first one was whispering into her ear.

"What kind of artifact, what grade?" I asked.

"King tier grade"

"Hmm...I would have loved to come but it's getting late, I can't afford to spend any more time here" I spoke and she placed her hands inside a small pouch she was carrying around and brought out a communication crystal.

"Here, I'm sure you'll not be too busy tomorrow, I live in the upper district, so we'll be waiting," the woman said with a smile as I placed the crystal in my pocket and walked away.

I could see the red light district from where I'm standing but I'm sure going further would result in even more women holding me and wasting my time so I'm going to head back now before it gets too late.

Both of the women walked away happy, they knew they had captured my attention with the artifact and they had, a king tier artifact is something of a rarity but I still don't know which powers the artifact had.

Artifacts are objects imbued with magical powers, they range from weapons, objects, equipment, and even relics.

Since they are divided into grades, some of them are powerful while some are weak, they are divided into five tiers same as every other thing in this world, basic, intermediate, advanced, king, and super tier.

If she has a king-tier artifact then I should see what it is, and having sex isn't something hard, it's just a bonus for me, I'm sure the merchant won't have any magic powers but that's not a problem.

I passed through the alley where I was ambushed and I was surprised to see the girl still sitting on the ground there, but she had moved closer to the wall and sat comfortably till I came closer to her.

I tried not to make too much noise till I was close enough and she didn't see it hear me coming till I was in front of her, she saw my pants and then looked up at me.

"What is wrong?" I squatted down and asked.

"Nothing I'm fine, you don't have to worry, I'm completely fine, I'm just tired" the girl spoke almost immediately.

"Really, I wanted to throw some coins your way but since you're fine" I muttered and attempted to stand up but he held my hands, she immediately let go when I turned towards her again.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry for holding you" she quickly spoke.

"What is wrong?" I asked again.

"I'm hungry and I don't have anywhere to go, my sister is also waiting for me to return with a meal for her, and I don't..." She burst into tears and began to cry in front of me.

I'm sure she isn't faking her tears or else why would she sit down here, I felt sorry for her and brought out a coin from my pocket and placed it in her hands.

She then opened her eyes and her jaws dropped as she saw the coin in her hand, it was a silver coin.

"T-This... silver... silver" She looked at me and was lost for words.

I had tons of silver coins at home, and I even had gold coins, I had a box where I kept coins I got from my mum or my dad, so I had a little fortune of my own.

Bronze coins were the lowest of coins, and 100 bronze coins could be exchanged for 1 silver coin, while 50 silver coins could be exchanged for 1 gold coin.
