Pearl's POV
We all stared at her expectantly as seconds started to feel like minutes before she finally spoke.
And when she did everyone's curious eyes and stares all changed into a disappointed look at what she said.
"Uhh, I just heard from an anonymous person," she said dismissively and went back to her seat to sit down.
"Uhh, come on!" everyone yelled disappointedly.
Sia had a habit of bringing in juicy news but she would never really satisfy the curiosity of those she was telling the news to.
Everyone went back to their desk after the disappointed look they all had and continued to carry out their task.
I was already done with the design and initially, I thought I was going to give it to either Sam or Sia to have it presented to the CEO, but now with the news Sia just shared, I'm afraid I don't know what I'm going to do anymore.
Everyone became busy doing things they normally do, they weren't acting like they were hungover anymore, and I just continued to stare at the screen in front of me.
It's not like I'm less confident about my design, it's more of like I'm just nervous that I might not be able to give a convincing and great presentation.
The day went by in a flash and before I know what was going on around me it was already 7 pm and it was time to get off work.
Everyone announced their departure making me the last to leave the office, and when I did, I picked up a few of my stuff and went to my car.
However before I would get in, I felt as if someone was behind me, and I quickly turn to see who it was but there was no one there.
I got a creepy chill from the feeling that someone was really behind me so I quickly got into my car and drove off.
I stopped by at Starbucks to get a bucket of my favourite ice cream. I had forgotten about the creepy feeling I had gotten back at the office parking lot because nothing takes away my excitement of getting my favourite coffee ice cream with waffle toppings.
So when I parked my car in front of Starbucks, I picked up my card and got out of the car without bothering to check my surrounding.
I went into Starbucks and ordered my ice cream and waited in one of the tables while the make me my bucket of ice cream but I couldn't shake off the off feeling of being watched by someone.
I turned to look behind me, but I didn't see anyone suspicious there was only one guy with his girlfriend I think because the way he was staring at her with love in his eyes made me feel a little warm inside.
I loved seeing people in love and most times I wonder what it feels like to love someone back and maybe even want to spend forever with them, because each time I look at Tate, I just don't think I could be with him forever.
I like Tate a lot, but I just don't think I can really spend forever with him although I know he was going to do everything he could to make me happy.
However, I still don't think I would actually want that...
A buzzing sound pulled me off from my lane of thoughts, making me realize I was actually at Starbucks waiting for the ice cream I ordered.
I got up from where I was seated and collected my ice cream before going back to where I parked my car in front of the Starbucks.
I got into my car forgetting all about the fact that I had actually gotten a creepy feeling that someone was watching me, until I heard a slight knock on my car's window.
"Oh my God!" I shrieked when I heard the knock because I was taken aback and the first thought that came to my mind when I heard the knock was that it was the creepy person that had been watching me.
However when I looked through the car window, I saw that it was actually one of the workers at Starbucks.
"Ma'am I think you forgot your ID card," he said after I heaved a huge sigh and wounded down the car's window.
The window was still up as I've only let it down a little bit don't could hear what he was saying, and when I did I looked through my purse on the other seat to see if my ID was there but I couldn't find it.
I didn't realize I went into Starbucks with my ID card let alone knowing that I actually left it behind.
I'm not usually forgetful but I guess my mind was just filled with so many thoughts when I sat in there waiting for the ice cream I ordered.
"Thank you," I said while lowering the car window a little more to collect the card from his hands, and he only nodded then went back into his workplace.
I drove back home still not able to completely shake off the feeling that someone was following me, so when I parked at the garage, I grabbed everything I needed to grab from my car before opening the door to get out of the car, and I immediately sprint to the elevator doors after locking my car.
I got to my room a few minutes later and then dumped the whole thing I was carrying on the table before going in to change my clothes.
I had made sure to put the locks on my door because I was scared the person might come in.
After changing my clothes into a comfy one, I went back to the sitting room and grabbed my bucket of ice cream before sitting on the couch and then putting on the tv.
It was a news channel that came up and the news they were broadcasting made my hand that was trying to feed a spoon full of ice cream into my widely opened mouth freeze in place and my mouth was left hanging open.
"Oh my God!!!"
