Chapter 10

"That's why you suddenly came home here in no time. It's like what you saw there was not your father." Veronica said.

"Who doesn't want to go home suddenly? I was so surprised to see him there. It's really good that I saw him first from a distance." Lennox replied.

"You so mean. He is your father." Veronica said.

"I know that but he's annoying to talk to," he answered.

He sat on the sofa. He was about to stand up when he heard Jade scream.

"Grandpa is here!" she shouted.

"I'm going to go to the room first. Just tell Daddy that I didn't make it home," he said to Veronica.

"No, once and for all. Talk to him so you don't avoid talking to him." Veronica said.

Lennox sighed. He could do nothing but stay in the living room. He saw his father approaching them.

"It's a good thing I caught up with you here, Lennox. It looks like you still have a long way to go," his father said.

"Hi, Daddy. Where have you been?" Veronica asked kissing his cheek.

"My friend's son's birthday party so I attended and I thought I'd drop by here." answered his father.

While Jade is clinging to her grandpa.

"Where is your husband?"

"Overseas business matters," Veronica answered.

"I see."

"What about you, man? You seem to want to live here rather than be with me there?" asked his father.

"What am I going to do in the province, Dad?" he asked.

"I used to tell you that you need to be in charge of the company but what have you done? You are here and doing nothing." answered his father.

"I don't want to be in charge of your company. I want to do something with my life. Is that hard to understand?"

"Of course. You are my only son. So you will replace me in management. And there is another thing I want you to do." his father replied.

Veronica was silent next to him.

"Why are you going to get off your seat and I'm going to take over? Where are you going? Are you going to get married?" Lennox asked.

"Where do you get that news, Lennox?" his father asked.

"Of course. I just thought. With the number of women you've been in relationships with, why don't you get married?" he replied.

His father burst out laughing.

"You are the one to marry and get married, Lennox. Not me. That's why I've been looking for a woman for you to marry." his father replied.

Lennox's suspicions were correct from the beginning that his father would not say anything sensible to him, it was just interference.

"I'm not a teenager, Dad, that you need to find a woman for me to marry."

"Of course. I want to find a woman for you myself." said his father.

"Whatever, let's end this conversation," he said and walk out.

"Come back here, Lennox!" His father called him but he didn't listen.

He got into the car and drove away. His father cannot always be followed. That's why he didn't want to see him because she wouldn't have anything good to say. He tried to call Lara but he couldn't reach her. He wanted someone to talk to now because he knew his father's words were going to get him into trouble one day. He knows that when his father wants to do something, he believes in it. He doesn't want to marry a woman he doesn't love, that's a sacrifice on his part. He just shook his head while driving so he left the province because he didn't want to be with him anymore but he was always looking for his father. If his father marries again, he will be able to breathe easily, but he doesn't think he has any plans. He wanted to drown himself in alcohol all night long because he thought his life would be quiet when he lived in Veronica's house in the city, but it still wasn't because bad luck always followed him.

While Dionne was just at home. Her stomach is already heavy. So she didn't wander around the city anymore. She was just writing chapters in the novel she was going to pass on. Good thing because the first thing s he did was get accepted and he is starting to update every day. She is also thankful that at least she will have money to use for giving birth. Her stomach is already eight months old and she will only have to wait one month before her future child will come out, but until now her families in the province do not know anything. Arya was also busy with work so she was always left alone at home.

So before she was drowned by sadness and boredom, she thought of adding more chapters that she had already put on the site. And Arya was right because after a few hours she had written a lot because of what she was going through now but she still couldn't forget what she kept secret from her parents. She will be a rebellious child if she lies any longer but now her fear prevails more than her desire, to tell the truth. Dionne knows that it is not only Noah's abandonment that is the reason why she is hurt and sad but also the mistake she made because she got pregnant without the father of her future child. But can she do anything if her life has become like this now? Did she like it? Does she have a choice? If only the former happened in the latter, she would certainly not experience it now. She loved the wrong person so she will accept whatever the outcome will be. Because she knows that the parents will be really angry at the beginning but after a while, they will gradually accept the fate of their child. Dionne stood up from her seat on the sofa and entered the kitchen. It's hard to be alone especially pregnant like her. And she was ashamed to demand Arya to stay in the house with her.
