Sasuke sat there on the opposite side of where his father and his brother were.
"I'm not here to waste my time. Show me the note. Now." ordered Fugaku as he stared into the boy's eyes. Sasuke's emotions were going haywire and he could sense it, but like any true or suspected Uchiha he didn't physically show it.
Sasuke activated his Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan since that's where he kept the note given by Azazel in. Fugaku and Itachi watched as this played before them with widened and surprised eyes before returning to their monotonous, emotionless eyes.
Fugaku managed to confirm that this boy is indeed an Uchiha, but what surprised him more is the fact that he has the Mangekyō Sharingan. The forbidden eyes of the clan. This would have been enough for him to take him back to the clan since he could also be a danger to himself and others.
However, he hoped that this boy is his sister's son. It would be a type of repentance for not being there, supporting his sister. If he is, then he will take him in, raise him as his own, and possibly ask him to train Itachi.
His hopes came true when Sasuke handed him the note. The calligraphic writing style belongs only to his sister. Sasuke is his sister's son!
"The note is real. So please leave." Sasuke breathed out as he attempted to not break down. This meeting weighed on his emotions and he didn't want to meet them at all. He wasn't ready. No, he will never be ready. He just didn't want to admit it.
He could never meet them, talk to them, or even share the same table as them. He could never have the guts to face them. Not now. Not ever, but what he didn't know was, that Fugaku never planned to just leave after finding out he is an Uchiha. How stupid of him to think that this is the end.
"I would like to take you in," Fugaku said. Sasuke's eyes widened. Is it because he has the Mangekyō Sharingan? Is it because of this, that his future father wanted to take him in?
Thoughts similar to this raced through his mind. He didn't know what to say. He wanted to say yes. He desperately wanted to but, he couldn't do it. He just couldn't.
"No. I refuse," said Sasuke. It didn't phase or surprised Fugaku one bit. It was as if he expected this.
"I understand, but do you know who your mother is?"
"No, and I have no intentions to. Besides, why do you want to take me in? You looked so desperate to get rid of me before." he questioned with a mocking grin. He knew his father despised disrespect, but he just smirked? Sasuke was confused. It showed outwardly and internally.
"Well, your mother is my sister. I don't know where she is now, but it's the truth. Naturally, I would like to take you in." This wasn't going in Sasuke's favor.
"Besides you possess the forbidden eyes of the clan. How you got it, is questionable, but you should be glad it was shown to Itachi and me. If you showed it to the elders, they would do anything in their power to have you. Even using your so-called brothers as hostages." Fugaku said, not allowing any room for Sasuke to refute.
"Your brothers can stay with us as well." Itachi pressed, assisting his father. Sasuke was out of words. He couldn't look away from him, his mouth agape and his eyes focused on him, with a look of guilt and sorrow. It took a lot of willpower to look away from him.
Itachi noticed this, and he wondered why he looked at him the way he did. Sasuke then tried to refuse again only to be turned down by Fugaku's attempt at negotiation. He was good at it.
"It's much safer to stay with us. We can protect you from the elders. To be honest, taking you in would save me the trouble of hassling with those women."
"I heard elders of a clan are mostly male."
"Well, the males act like tramps." Sasuke couldn't help but giggle before coughing to stop himself.
"I'll think about it."
"I'll give you three days." When the two left, Sasuke let out a breath he didn't even know he held in, and just when he thought he could relax, Naruto burst in with a bowl of tomato soup, and tomato juice.
Kurama followed behind bringing in halved tomatoes served on a plate. Seeing them, bringing in his favorite fruit, and being creative with it, made him smile.
They were stunned but went into his room nonetheless. They didn't ask about his talk with his family but just sat on the beds and chairs. Talked, minus Kurama. He just sat in the corner drinking coffee, meditating.
