Her smile was something anyone should open their eyes to see every morning because it was so pleasing to his heart and he felt at ease so he leaned back again. "Why are you this close to me?" He asked, watching how she was staring at him until he noticed her eyes on his lips. He gasped, "don't tell me you kissed me while I was... now I know why you cared so much about me taking a nap!"
"Yes, I kissed your lips, sucked them and made my tongue touch yours, I even dip my hand into your trousers," with that crooked smile, she said.
His expression was priceless, she loved the way he widened his eyes and folded his lips as if imagining it.
"Gross..." He uttered while she laughed. "Those lips on mine?" He shook his head, expressing irritation.
"And I also put my hand in your trousers," her smile expanded.
"Why would you..." He sure realized what she meant and why the moment he looked into her eyes. "Why? Claire!" He yelled at her but she boasted.
"I was waking you but you kept groaning, you said kiss me and I did," she shrugged.
"I can never say that!"
"You sure? You have that thing down you, it must have wanted something," she grinned ear to ear. And at that moment, Corey was short of words. He just looked at her in astonishment, she amazed him with how brave she was to stay this close to a murderer, not just to a person who was his brother but to animals.
When he and his uncle planned to kill his brother, he didn't agree to it. Truly, killing his brother was the hardest thing to do. He had practised killing by murdering animals but as his uncle said, seeing his brother would awaken that anger and hate that had been nurtured in his heart. The image of his brother not helping him back then had pain him a lot and killing him was right as his uncle said but that guilt flushed through him again. He was being true to himself, it was a relief but he felt a bit strange about it. Could he be feeling guilty? No, he shouldn't go there. And he was!
"What?" She asked after a long moment of him staring at her.
"I just can't believe it," he sighed.
"I didn't kiss you," Claire admitted. "Why will I kiss those lips? They look too dry and hard, women go for soft, wet and plumpy lips, not rocks," the way she glares was stupidly cute and he hated that because anytime she glares, he'd just want to pinch her cheeks so hard. He stared at her knowing what she said wasn't from her mind.
"I don't expect you to like my lips," he uttered.
"Whatever," she looked away. "You look like a pig at the moment so I'll get something for you to eat so you'll look awake and capable," Claire left before he could leave a comment so Corey had to wait for her. He couldn't go in without her, she knew how to shop and what's best suitable for him.
Waiting for her became boring so he shut his eyes and fell asleep again. Perhaps he should have done as she told him earlier. Reading all night wasn't a good idea, he felt weak and incapable. But wait, did she kiss him for real? Did she touch him in his trousers?
Corey wanted to confirm but was too frazzled to, he just close his eyes. Claire took her time because she had to go across the building to find a street shop where fish fries, burgers and some other snacks were sold. She also bought cold drinks along so he'd be sharp awake.
Walking carefree back to his car, she thought about him, the expression he displayed earlier about her touching and kissing him...what a liar, he didn't find her kissing gross. He just wanted to make her feel bad for herself.
She was carried away that she failed to notice a car ready for taking off. The driver accelerated the car so fast and when she noticed, she fell to the ground, to being so dramatic. It was the mistake of the driver, he didn't expect the car to be activated.
When the car owner heard her scream and Corey who was half asleep heard that irritating sound of the tyre to the ground, he opened his eyes to see Claire behind. The car owner ran out of the back seat to see Claire lifting to her feet.
"Miss," he reached for her to make sure she was okay only for him to witness a damsel, he smiled at the sight of a beautiful lady who looked distressed and he wanted to fully help and earn that smile of acceptance from her. "I'm really sorry, it was a silly mistake," shaking his head, he glared at his driver.
So the driver came forward and bowed his head. "I'm sorry ma'am."
With their apologies and their respect she still couldn't believe she was standing. "Am I dead?" She asked.
"Of course not," the car owner chuckled and went closer to her and held her cheeks in his hands. "It's okay, nothing happened, you aren't hurt so take a deep breath..." She did after looking into his eyes. "Yes...yes," he whispered. "Now you are fine," he smiled and his ecstatic face was unique, lifting her lips.
Claire smiled in relief and didn't know when she started a conversation with him to the extent, he collected her phone number. Claire would have gone on and on with him but she sighted Donald standing behind a car close by. He had been there watching her. She probably had forgotten about him to have such a long conversation with a stranger named Israel.
Claire excused herself and went to Donald, to bring him to his car. "He's tall," she heard him say as she shared the burger and drinks. "Handsome," he continued so she looked at him. "And a gentleman, you like him," he was quick to conclude.
"Yes, he tall, gentle, nice with words, he's a fool to call me beautiful, I know. He even said my lips aren't gross and he feels like giving me a sweet passionate french kiss because I told him that someone called my lips gross and disgusting. He's sexy too and handsome, every woman's dream," she pushed it into his soul that he felt his jaws clenching.
