Chapter 2

When she woke up again, she was lying on a bed in the hospital. her throat was dried as if it was on fire.

water...

She got out of bed staggeringly. There was a kettle on the coffee table. She saw it and quickly poured a glass of water out.

Only that the water was boiling hot and burning, so that she could only look at it. But she is anxious and crazy about getting some water.

After the water was cooling down for a long time, she had finally had the first sip of water since three days.

Before she could take a second sip, the door of the ward was rudely pushed straight open. Several police officers rushed in.

"Over here, catch her!" The police came forward, knocked over the cup in Catherine's hand, tackled her arm backwards, and held her down on the coffee table.

Catherine's cheek was pressed against the desktop made of cold glass, and her arm was in pain.

"What are you doing? let me go!" She struggled weakly.

"Catherine, you are suspected of murder and we are going to arrest you immediately!" The police said in a cold voice, the sound of handcuffs clicking as hear hands were firmly cuffed.

"I didn't do that!" Catherine was more and more anxious that she almost cried, "I really didn't push Millie into the water, I didn't murder her. I really didn't!"

"These words, wait until you get to the police station!"

The police officers were serious and thunderous, escorting Catherine to leave.

"Wait, let me drink some water." Catherine stared at the kettle, longing to go crazy, "I have not drunk any water for three days, please, let me drink a glass of water!"

"Drink water? Of course, get to the police station and you might have the chance!"

Catherine was still handcuffed and taken out of the ward.

She saw Adam standing silently in the corridor of the hospital. He seems so far away from her. His eyes are full of ruthless and anger.

Catherine cried all of a sudden and murmured: "Adam, save me... I didn't kill anyone, Adam, you save me please..."

Adam frowned in disgust, turned his back directly with an indifferent face.

Catherine was unwilling to give up, and desperately screamed and shouted: "Adam! Look at me! I really didn't kill Millie!"

"Don't pretend!" The policeman pulled Catherine's arm and said in a stern voice, "Mr. Adam is a witness to your murder!"

Catherine's whole body instantly froze and she looked at the police in a daze: "You mean... it was Adam, who called the police to arrest me?"

The police snorted coldly: "You murdered his girlfriend, of course he should call the police to arrest you! Not only should he call the police, but he should also beat you up! What a surprise! I didn't expect that you have such a vicious heart with this innocent looking."

   "I didn't..." Catherine retorted palely.

   But no one believed her.

She was taken to the police station, and the police here took turns to interrogate her, asking her to tell the story of the crime and the motive.

The police kept repeating these questions tirelessly. She become delirious by the interrogation. She didn't even know how she told the truth about she threatened Millie and asked her to break up with Adam.

The police immediately said: "This is your motivation for committing the crime, right? Because Millie was unwilling to break up, you pushed her into the sea out of anger and jealousy!"

"I didn't push her, she jumped on her own! She wanted to lay it on me. She knew that she could not hide the shameful things she did, so she used such an extreme method to hurt me!"

"But according to the description of Mr. Adam and Millie's friends around her, Millie is a kind, generous, enthusiastic and cheerful woman. What kind of shameful things could she have done?" The police snorted coldly, "You still refuse to admit that you killed somebody?"

Catherine stared back at the police, and said word by word, "I! didn't! kill! anyone!"

The police officers chuckled, suddenly picked up the phone and dialed a call out: "Mr. Adam, she firmly refuses to admit that she pushed Miss. Millie now...How to deal with it?"

Catherine did not know what Adam actually said to the police, after three days, she was sent to prison. She was under sentence of three years in prison for attempted murder.

Before entering the prison, Catherine cried and begged the police officer who was escorting her for a long time to give her a chance, so that she could make a phone call to Adam and her family.
