Has he proposed?

 “I’m just confused,” he said.

“Confuse! Alex, there is nothing to be confused about, let that girl be, she’s bad news” Jack said worried for him.

"I know but I just can’t help it” Alex has never had a girl turn him down in his life, the girls always run after him.

But this Evelyn!, she’s too much, she’s playing hard to get, and that alone keeps making Alex want to try to catch her.

He will always go to bed, holding Sandra in his arms but thinking about Evelyn, the way she walks, the way she speaks, and the way she carries herself is way too much for Alex to ignore.

“But why is she looking at me as if she likes me?, why is she always staring at me but not saying anything, and I can’t even read her” Alex will always torture himself with those questions.

“Alex are you listening to me, you have to stop this now, her father is the bad guy,” Jack told him.

“I’ve heard you, I will try”

Evelyn went to work but keeps thinking of Alex, “Why is he doing what he’s doing? He has a woman and a kid, maybe he didn’t love her, so why are they together if he didn’t love her?”

A knock on her office door brought her back.

“Excuse me ma'am you have a visitor”

“A visitor?”

“Yes ma, he said is important”

“Let him in”

"Dad! What in Heaven's name are you doing in my office?” Evelyn asks surprised because Mr. Lincoln has never been to her office before.

“I was passing and I decided to stop by.”

Evelyn doesn’t believe him one bit, he is up to something but that is what she’s about to find out.

“Why are you here dad?”

"Just to say hello and to ask if I will get to see the man in your life before I die”

“Seriously dad? When did you start getting interested in the men in my life?”

“I know I’ve not been a good dad, but c'mon I’m here now” he stretch out his hands and Evelyn walked into them.

"So has Alex proposed yet?” he whispered into her ear and she pulled away from him.

"Dad! I think we should see at home."

“Of course” Lincoln turned and left leaving Evelyn dumbstruck.

"Propose!” She repeats after her father with her mouth open in shock.

Why would Alex propose to her? She walk back to her seat and sat down, playing with the pen in her hand. She smirked and began to think it will be a good idea, to have Alex propose to her.

But first, she’s going to ask him about the other woman, if he no longer loves her or is he trying to play games with her.

She pulled out Alex's picture from her desk drawer and stare at it smiling and caressing the picture with her hand.

Alex was on his bed with Sandra as he was about to drift to sleep he received a text message from Evelyn.
