Chapter 45

Clara got a message from their mother asking that Alex report back to the US to finalize his marriage plan with the arranged Sandra before his inauguration as the head of the clan.

What got to Alex was why that girl has to bear the same name with his Sandra?

He wanted to say no, he wasn’t going anywhere, but at the same time he wasn’t  ready to be call a weakly by his parents.

Sandra returned to been a good girl for his parents while waiting to hear from Alex, but he seem to have completely forgotten her.

“Sandra wait up…Sandra wait,” Brian ran after her one hot afternoon.

“What is it?” she ask Brian.

“I just want to ask you want you were doing with Alex?”

 “and what business of yours is that?”

“ Look, I know I’ve messed up, but are you trying to make me jealous?”

“What are you talking about?”

“Then what are you doing with Alex?, He is my friend, please don’t date him”

“Why?, you are allow to date but not me?”

“Is not like that, but I know what am saying, he is my friend, and I don’t want you getting hurt”

“What do you mean by that? You hurt me already, did I kill you?”

“Ok, to be honest with you, I will tell you the truth. We…I….I… mean we are kind of playboys.” He said with so much difficulty.

“Hmm, really? Is that why you treated me so badly?”

 “Am sorry Sandra, but you mean a lot to me.”

“Brian is ok,  I don’t want to hear anything from you, if Alex is going to play me then I prefer him more than you” she said and walk out on him.

“Shit.. how do I let her understand who Alex is?, she is going to regret this”

Sandra went home and start thinking about what Brian told her.

“Maybe he is right?, or no, if Alex is a playboy he would have done it already, but he has had the opportunity to do it but he didn’t do it.” she keeps thinking. But why is Alex not responding to her text or calling her?.

Alex keep thinking about what happen in the hotel room with the prostitute. “What if it was Sandra? What would have happen to her by now, no, I need to stay away from her, I have to let her go.”

“Alex, mum is on the line” Clara hand Alex the phone.

“Yes mum”

“What were you thinking? After you took the oath don’t you know you were not supposed to meet another woman except the one we choose for you?”

“How did you know that?” Alex ask but his mum kept quiet.

“This isn’t right” he said. “I should be allowed to choose my own wife and not to force someone on me.”

“You can’t do that Alex because we are not completely humans and we need to protect our clan. You have been chosen to hold a very high position, you can’t not afford to make mistakes.
