Sophie was currently standing in front of a door with the number 25 etched on it.
This was the number she had been given according to her position in the line back at the receptionist section. Sophie was here alone because Kate did not follow her. Kate did not plan to take part in the matchmaking event to start with, so she escaped with the excuse that she had a friend who needed her help with something. She also reminded Sophie to call her immediately if she ever changed her mind.
Sophie took a deep breath, telling herself to calm down. She was already here and all she needed to do right now was just to push open the door and behold the sight of her new spouse. Well,to-be spouse.
She raised her trembling hand and reached out for the doorknob but stopped midway. Nervousness was eating her up like cancer.
She closed her eyes and placed her hands on her chest "what are you nervous about? You are already here. Get a grip of yourself and get this over with! It's not like you are being forced" She muttered softly, trying to give herself as much encouragement as possible.
Sophie opened her eyes as her expression turned to one of determination and seriousness. Her black Iris was completely submerged in an unstoppable aura.
She wore a casual smile that added a friendly and harmless demeanor to her person; she looked normal yet alluring.

She pushed the door open slowly and stepped into the room. The room was very spacious with a lot of heart-shaped paintings completely covering almost every single space on the walls. Two pink-colored heart-shaped seats and a round red table separate them. A huge rectangular glass window marked the back of the room through wish light came in; the outside view could also be seen through the window.
Sophie was still admiring the sweet and dreamy scene in front of her when her eyes were drawn to the tall figure standing in front of the rectangular glass window. His back was facing her because he was currently staring at the outside world through the window.
Sophie could not help but notice the fitted dark blue retro suit which complimented his muscular body underneath. With two hands in his pocket, he gave a type of seductive yet pure charming air. Glancing down, Sophie could see a pair of perfectly straight legs leading to a pair of freshly polished brown leather shoes which glistened from the sun.
This man….had such a strong presence, like an ancient emperor.
But this emperor seems awfully familiar, especially with his short black hair that scattered like that of a mafia boss.
Looks like she was right, after all, young and Rich men could still be found in this place!!
She closed the door and walked over to the pair of seats in the middle of the room. She touched the seat and could not help but appreciate how soft they felt on her fingers, such quality!
Sophie settled on one of the seats, making herself comfortable before shifting her gaze back to the man standing at the window.
"Hello!" She said joyfully to the man. It was finally her turn, she will definitely make Felix regret what he did,now she had the opportunity. No matter who this man was, she was going to make him fall for her in two weeks!
The man shook slightly like he was suddenly woken up from a trance. Sophie could hear him sigh as he slowly turned around.
'What a deep sigh that was, he must be so tired from his past relationship' Sophie thought to herself. She could only rejoice inwardly, a wounded lion was the best target for a novice hunter, all she needed to do was to tend to his broken heart and he would be over the moon for her!
But the next instant, Sophie's face froze; she even forgot to breathe.
'H-how? How is this possible? Am I hallucinating? How is he here?' Sophie was screaming internally though her face was still petrified that she could not even blink.
That was because, in front of her were those familiar and intimidating red eyes…her boss!!
Raymond, the CEO of New Tech!!
What was he doing here? Or maybe she was in the wrong room? Yes! That must be it, dammit, she almost got herself in trouble, she should better leave quickly before he gets annoyed.
Sophie was like a flustered rabbit as she frantically thought of what to do, before deciding to leave the room. Well, her reactions were not unreasonable though, and that was because everyone knew that Raymond was extremely cold and distant to others, he was even more so to the opposite sex than he was to men.
So the thought of him being here for matchmaking would simply be a dream to forever dream about. Moreover, she would not want to be matched with this cold boss of hers, she might not be able to make it in two weeks!!
Raymond, who had just turned around, was also shocked to see the person sitting on the seat while I'm staring at him. His eyes widened and his mouth formed a circle that could probably fit in a tennis ball.
Never would he have guessed that the person he would be matched with would be his always clumsy and unreliable assistant. He felt like he was being set up. How in the world could she be the one? What sort of sorcery is this? Were the heavens playing with him?
But he was quick to compose himself, his face returned to his normal indifferent expression as he strolled towards the panic-stricken girl sitting in the middle of the room.
Raymond's expiration once again took a turn as he frowned, seeing that she was about to leave the room. The girl already stood up and was about to run away when Raymond could no longer take it.
"Where are you going? Who asked you to leave?" He said with displeasure mixed within his words. He could not let her leave even if he wanted.
Sophie stopped her steps as she felt like she was being held in place by an invisible hand, she did not even dare to take a step forward.
Sophie turned around stiffly. She had an apologetic smile on her face, her eyes were roaming about as she did not know where to settle them.
"H-hello b-boss" Sophie forced the words out with great difficulty.
Raymond raised an eyebrow but did not comment on her sudden stuttering habit.
"I am no longer your boss, you don't work for me anymore. Why were you leaving?"
Sophie felt like crying, why must she have a reason to leave? Seeing you was already a big enough reason!! She yelled in her mind, not daring to spit it out.
"N-nothing boss.. sorry…sir, I think I accidentally walked into the wrong room, so I did not want to disturb you" She said timidly. How she really wanted to find a hole and hide.
"And what makes you think you are in the wrong room?" Raymond sat on the other seat and crossed his right leg over his left, looking at Sophie with an indifferent gaze.
