"Why would you want that? It's not a good idea" Kate refused, how could she ever allow her Sophie to indulge in such sinful things? The heavens might not forgive her.

"I heard some workers saying it's a very effective way to relieve stress and calm the mind," Sophie said persistently, unwilling to give up.

"It's not true, I am not letting yo..."

"Then I would just go alone then" Sophie caught Kate's words short and staggered out of the room.

Kate sighed and looked up "Heaven, please forgive me" she muttered before running after Sophie.

Kate opened the door and Sophie followed behind her as they made their way inside a club. Kate was an outgoing girl so she knew a lot of fun houses in the City, also, since she wanted to keep Sophie safe at all times, she purposely brought her to a less crowded bar personally.

"Do you want this?" Kate looked at her friend who was walking behind her, uneasy.

"Mm, am sure" Sophie nodded like a hen pecking grain adamantly.

Facing Sophie's stubborn nature, Kate could only shake her head and sighed, she once again asked the heavens to forgive her.

The first floor of the bar was all smoky and filled with the stench of alcohol. This place was mostly filled with people who came here to have fun and spoil themselves.

This place wasn't suitable for her Sophie, those brainless wolves would surely approach her soon, so without wasting even a single second, Kate practically dragged Sophie towards the upper part of the bar.

This part had fewer people compared to the lower part of the bar, down there was overly crowded with just as many men as women, the place gave Sophie the impression of Filth but the people down there probably wouldn't mind after drowning themselves in the spoiled arms of wine and alcohol.

Compared to the lower level, the upper part had much more reserved and esteemed figures in formal suits and classy attires.

The great contrast between the two levels made it seem like the two were separate buildings.

The people on the upper level were either busy with their laptops, chatting about some topics quietly or looking down at the frenzied crowd below.

The way they looked down at the partying crowd was similar to how a snake would look at a stray rabbit from a tree branch, this made Sophie shiver at the thought of being watched like that.

Kate found a quiet corner for them to sit, the chairs and table were just as clean as every other set on this level. Clearly, everything down here had to be five if not ten times more expensive than the lower level.

"I know it's your first time here, so sit here and observe, don't try to move around, walk with your eyes, I will go get something to fulfill your request so I can take you out of here" Kate ordered, not giving Sophie any room for negotiation.

She still felt guilty about bringing Sophie here. She had earlier proposed buying a few drinks so she and Sophie could get high together but Sophie had refused and even almost ran off by herself, Sophie wanted to experience the club life, she wanted to get above the clouds in a place suitable for it, Kate gave up on persuading her and quickly left to get the drinks for both of them.

Kate quickly disappeared into the bar and Sophie was left all to herself, just as instructed by her friend, Sophie didn't move and just sat there quietly, looking around the place with great curiosity, her eyes roamed her surroundings and she noticed that a lot of people were also observing her, she quickly looked away in fright.

In terms of status, money, or connections, she didn't think she had any hopes of competing with them, not even with her entire family combined, unless she asked help from Uncle and aunty, she would just be calling trouble to herself.

"Hello there, pretty, care for a drink?" A firm voice startled Sophie from behind, she slowly turned around and was stunned, a handsome young man in his dazzling foreign black suit was standing behind her.

He had short blue hair which was exceptionally eye-catching, and a heart-warming smile that could turn any girl into a fan girl easily with his beautiful blue eyes, he was like the God of seduction.

Sophie's heart thumbed fast when the young God smiled at her, her brain shut down entirely, and she was unable to speak.

The man laughed lightly, seeing Sophie's reaction, it was like he had expected this.

"I am Nero, nice to meet you," he said while his hand stretched out for a handshake.

Sophie looked at the hand and gulped before slowly placing her small hand on his.

"N-nice to meet y-you too," Sophie managed to say.

Nero chuckled and asked "May I know your name?" still not letting go of her hand.

"My...my name..."

"That's none of your business" a hand suddenly jerked their hands apart forcefully as Kate appeared beside them, she had two wine bottles in one hand while her other hand held Sophie's hand.

She glared at Nero, her eyes telling him to get lost.

"Wow! calm down. I just wanted to have a few drinks with this pretty lady here" Nero laughed, he wasn't scared by Kate's aggressive approach, nor was he ready to back down.

"We don't want your company, go away and stop bothering us,shuu" Kate raised her voice as high as possible.

Nero's face turned unpleasant when he realized that others had started to look in their direction, this was what he didn't want to happen. Attention. It could damage his image.

He finally turned to leave but still waved at Sophie first "See you around, beautiful" before walking away.

Sophie looked at Nero as the latter walked elegantly away, then turned over to Kate "Do you know him?" she asked. Her boyfriend just left her, and though she was still heartbroken, Nero's handsomeness and demeanor could easily rival her cold boss.

Kate shook her head "No, I haven't seen him around either, he must be new in the city" she explained.

"Ohh" Sophie exclaimed and didn't say anything else.

Now for the main event, two big round eyes blinked at the bottles of Alcohol on the table, ready to try them out.
