CHAPTER 2/The Good And The Bad...

As the king made his way down to the middle of the battlefield towards the queen , his sword was trembling , not out of fear ,but excitement and exhilaration . His lips were raised to form a smile , one that looked menacing instead of happy .But in this exchange of gazes he wasn't the only one who was experiencing a myriad of emotions , his competitor was too.

At this moment the queen of Vensah stared right into his(the king's) eyes. She couldn't decipher if this was one of her useless dreams or if this was reality. If this was a dream then it was extremely realistic because she could feel all of her senses being heightened as he walked closer. But the sense that she couldn't ignore at all was her sense of smell, as she could easily smell the scent of her commander's blood.

The more she breathed it in the angrier she got as she was well aware he purposely left her commander alive after breaking his backbone, making sure he was paralyzed for life. 'Why did he do that?' She didn't know what caused his anger but the least she could understand in this situation was that he had done it for her to see. And now he had the gall to smile? How dare he!

While having this train of thought , her eyes were growing darker, the rage was drowning her whole, making her breathing grow ragged and her heartbeat faster by the second. Before she could figure out what she was doing ,her body moved on its own ,attacking the king ,swinging her sword at his neck. But he easily blocked the sword while laughing in a mocking manner.

"I didn't expect this was what would become of my best competitor, rather, I expected you to turn stronger. But I guess that all you did in your sweet little castle was play TEA PARTY"

Both of them clashed their swords against each other. In the midst of all this chaos the audience ,who were just screaming , and encouraging their rulers were baffled when a humongous snake made out of sand flew up from behind the queen and attacked the Yastaxian king, throwing him a few feet back.

"Oh? So we're doing it this way then , well I don't mind AT ALL ''

After getting out of the horde of sand, thrown at him and shouting out the words , the king's silver sword started turning blood red along with the queen's sword that turned black. This time it was the king's turn to attack , and the both of them continued to clash their sword against each other continuously at an astonishing speed, which the ordinary audience couldn't even imagine being able to decipher.

The bloodcurdling change no one except the king was able to notice was, that the whites of the queen's eyes were starting to turn pitch black. Her fingertips and nails had already changed by the time he noticed , they were a maroon color that was reaching up to her wrists and continuously going up. When he finally had the opportunity to look at her fully by pushing her back with an attack , he saw it , something he had least expected. Her eyes weren't filled with hatred or anger anymore ,rather they were asking for help.

But if the king had actually expected the queen to give up on defeating him, then he was mistaken, as the next thing she did was to plunge her nails into her shoulder.

She took them out, held the pendant on her collarbone with her bloody hand and breathed deeply. That seemed to help her in regaining control as the she, once again continued to attack him. The king seemed to have been distracted ,as when the queen attacked he wasn't able to fully dodge and got a wide cut on his arm. The wound brought him back to his senses and, they started to exchange attacks, although this time the attacks were visibly more brutal than before, each reaching for a vital point.

Facing these deadly attacks the queen's head was filled with intruding thoughts that she kept trying to avoid. 'Would she have to kill him at the end of this or would she be the one to die?Would she be able to kill him?Would he be able to kill her?although dying wouldn't be so bad she had made a promise to her love which meant she had to try harder to win this troublesome battle'

After she was finally able to push those thoughts away her speed easily increased to match the king's. At the corner of her eyes she saw that his sword was about to plunge into the left side of her abdomen so she clashed her sword against it , but to her horror, his entire being and that sword suddenly fell into the sand and disappeared , making her stare at that spot in panic for a moment. She failed to understand what just happened until she caught a glimpse of the color red rushing towards her neck from her right.

All of a sudden the sword rushing towards her neck, the battlefield, the severe smell of blood, and her competitor, the taste of sand, had all disappeared being replaced with the memories of her life being repeated in front of her eyes, the good along with the ones she wanted to completely deny and forget.
