After dropping his step-sister at the college, he heads to the office nervous about the project. As Alex reaches the office, he finds his usual parking space occupied, so he decides to park his car in the empty space across the street. After he parks the car and begins to walk towards the office, his mind is still occupied with thoughts of the presentation and the day ahead. Lost in his own world, he waits at the pedestrian crossing for the signal to turn green.
As Alex stands at the street corner, a rush of people joins in, each in their own world. Among them is a lady, engrossed in her phone and doesn't pay attention to the signal and continues walking briskly towards the busy intersection.
In the midst of the crowd, she brushes past Alex, and in a twist of fate, the bracelet on his wrist somehow gets entangled with her coat. And before he realizes what's happening, he gets pulled by her breaking his chain of thought.
Startled, Alex immediately realizes the lady walking into the red light with him in tow. In a split second, Alex's instincts kick in, and he reacts without hesitation. He instantly puts a firm footing on the ground and reaches out for the lady's hand and pulls her back from the brink of danger just in the nick of time, before getting run over by a speeding car.
However, in the process, he exerts a little too much force, and they both tumble awkwardly to the ground, with the lady ending up on top of him.
As the lady falls on top of Alex, he is taken aback by her striking appearance of this mature beauty who seemed to be in her early 30s. Her eyes are a mesmerizing shade of deep blue, sparkling with a mix of surprise and gratitude as they meet his. Her golden-brown hair flows in gentle waves, framing her face like a radiant halo.
Her attire adds to her allure - a satin shirt with the top two buttons undone, hinting at a glimpse of her graceful neckline and a heart racing view of her ample bosom. The fitted pencil skirt accentuates her curves, leaving a tantalizing impression of elegance and sophistication.
As they become entangled, Alex can feel her soft body pressed against his, and he can't help but notice her two delicate marshmallows firmly plastered to his athletic chest. The proximity of mere inches between their faces let him feel her rosy breath and the delicate scent of her perfume fill the air around them.
Their eyes lock, and Alex finds himself spellbound by her beauty. Her face is just inches away from his, and he can feel her warm breath on his skin. Time seems to stand still as they share this unexpected, intimate moment.
For a few heartbeats, they remain frozen in the embrace, both startled by the situation. A blush creeps up on Alex's cheeks as he realizes the closeness between them.
As Alex helps the lady up and they regain their composure, his concern takes precedence over the initial spell of attraction. He gently reprimands her with a touch of seriousness in his voice
"You should be more careful while crossing the street. Phones can be distracting, but safety should be a priority."
The lady feels a bit taken aback by the assertiveness in his voice, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment. She manages to nod, acknowledging his words, but before she can respond, Alex continues speaking, not giving her much of a chance to say anything.
"That was too close," he mutters, more to himself than to the lady.
"If not for this bracelet getting tangled in your coat, your delicate body would have turned to a meat paste" he says, a hint of curiosity in his words.
"I hope you'll remember this lesson for the future. It's essential to pay attention to your surroundings, especially on busy streets," he advises, his tone unwavering.
After conveying his thoughts, starts walking towards the office engrossed in his own thoughts, leaving behind the slightly stunned lady before she could muster a reply.
He hadn't meant to be so stern, but his genuine concern for her safety had taken over. Now, as he walks towards the office, he can't help but wonder if he had been too harsh.
Alex can't help but wonder about the strange incident that compelled him to act. He looks down at the bracelet, contemplating its significance, but decides it must have been a coincidence.
As he enters the office building, his steps toward the office are weighed down with a cocktail of anticipation and unease. His boss's words echo in his mind - today's project approval will determine his professional fate.
Once he enters Mr. Thompson office, he is greeted by his boss' stern eyes. His boss's voice is firm as he addresses Alex, his tone a mix of warning and expectation.
"Alex, this presentation is make or break. We've got a big shot from the client side coming in today. If this falls through, you won't need to think about showing up tomorrow," he declares, his words driving the seriousness of the situation deep into Alex's core.
Nodding in acknowledgment, Alex absorbs the weight of his boss's words. As he steps back into his cabin, he slumps into his chair, the pressure almost suffocating. It's in this moment of vulnerability that her colleague, Ashley, walks in, her presence a welcome distraction.
Her eyes catch his downcast demeanor, so, and she approaches him with an easy smile to cheer him up, her voice laced with playful concern. "Oh no, did my dinner cancellation really hit you that hard?"
"Actually, you're in luck. The data issues miraculously fixed themselves this morning, so I'm back in for that dinner date."
Alex can't help but smile at her attempt to lighten the mood. "Well, I guess I have something to look forward to now," he replies, his gratitude evident in his voice.
She leans casually against the door frame, a comforting presence in the midst of his nervousness. "I heard some buzzing around the office. Seems like your job might be dancing on a tightrope."
Alex manages a faint smile, appreciating her attempt to lighten the mood. "Yeah, it's not exactly the best feeling."
Ashley chuckles softly. "Well, let me offer you some perspective. You've got that charming smile that's like an instant mood booster, especially for a woman on the client's side. I mean, come on, looks, charm, and brains – you've got the whole package."
He can't help but chuckle at her teasing confidence in him. "Thanks, Ashley. I'll remember to flash my 'winning the deal' smile."
She winks playfully. "And if you manage to knock this proposal out of the park, who knows, maybe I'll reward you somehow."
Alex raises an eyebrow, intrigued. "Oh, really? And what kind of reward are we talking about here?"
"Well, you will have to wait for our dinner date to find out." she replies mysteriously.
"Oh! My apology dinner has turned into a dinner date." Alex replies playfully
"You wish!" she replies but a hint of embarrassment is evident on her face as she realizes her choice of words.
Right at that moment, the secretary's voice breaks their conversation, summoning Alex to meet the big shot from the VR Studios at the meeting.
"Go dazzle them in there, Alex. Show them why you're the best man for the job." Ashley encourages him.
Alex starts to head towards the Meeting room with renewed confidence thanks to Ashley's playful words and encouragement.
