"I am too."

The two clinked their glasses.

Gu Ran downed his drink in one go. Chen Ke had only intended to take a small sip but, seeing him do that, she didn't pull away from the paper cup and finished it in one breath, too.

Gu Ran, seeing her struggle, laughed, "I was thirsty, you didn't need to do that."

"A toast to the gentleman, um-hum." Having drunk too much cold water, Chen Ke felt a bit uncomfortable in her throat and cleared it.

Gu Ran took out a piece of candy.

"Where did you get that?" Chen Ke asked instinctively.

"A nurse gave it to me."

Chen Ke retracted her hand, which had been about to take the candy, and said with a wry smile, "Then I can't take it."

Gu Ran also laughed for a moment, without saying much and upon reflection, he felt it was indeed impolite to give away something that was given to him with affection by someone else.

The two fell silent and sat on the indoor grassland's long bench.

Soon, the end of the surgery was announced.
