In a quaint restaurant, Daemon was eating while looking at Evelyn sitting opposite of him. He had a soft expression in his eyes, and with her head lowered to focus on her plate, she was hiding a small smile behind the hair that was refusing to remain behind her ear despite her repeated efforts.
The world seemed to have only the two of them, despite other people also having their lunch around, especially as they were a little removed from the rest, as the tables were thoughtfully spread to afford some privacy to the guests.
They ate in silence, enjoying each other's company like in the old days, though none of them said it.
Still, at some point, a hint of embarrassment came upon Evelyn due to the focus she was being the object of. So, she raised her head after swallowing the mouthful of food she had in her mouth, and questioned:
