‘Miss Granger?’ ‘Miss Granger!’ Hermione blinked and refocused her eyes, looking at McGonagall. ‘Thank you for accompanying this class.’ McGonagall said. Her classmates chuckled around her. ‘It’s an honour to have you here, but I’d like you to pay attention, while you’re attending.’ McGonagall said. ‘I-I’m sorry, yes of course.’ Hermione said. ‘What’s up with you?’ Ginny whispered. ‘It’s nothing.’ Hermione shrugged it off. ‘Oh we’re going in that direction again.’ Ginny said, leaning on her elbow, resting her chin in her hand and looking at McGonagall. ‘Ginny, I’ve told you that I’m sorry over a hundred times, what do you want me to do?’ Hermione asked. ‘Forget about it.’ Ginny said. Hermione sighed. ‘Girls.’ McGonagall said. ‘Is there something you want to share with everyone?’ she asked. ‘No professor.’ Ginny said. Hermione saw Ginny looking up at McGonagall from the corner of her eye. It had been a week now and Ginny hadn’t said much to her. She did get why she was mad, she had lied to her and kept something from her, but it was hard for her, not having one of her best friends around to talk to. To tell her everything that was going on inside her head, or just have small talks. Of course she could talk to Harry and Ron, but that was different, she needed a girl to talk to. She couldn’t tell the boys every-single-thing, for some things you just needed a girl best friend. Which she had missed the first few years at Hogwarts, with only the boys around her, but now that she had Ginny, and the fact she couldn’t talk to her, it was hard on her.
‘Hey, how’s your day going?’ Draco asked after he had wrapped two arms around her from behind, as Hermione was seated in the library. ‘Not great.’ Hermione said. ‘What’s wrong?’ Draco asked, letting go and sitting down next to her. ‘Ginny’s-‘ she started. ‘Don’t say more, don’t you think you’d better just go and talk to her?’ Draco asked. ‘She won’t listen! I’ve tried it multiple times but she just walks away.’ Hermione said. ‘And why don’t you just follow her as she walks away?’ Draco asked. ‘Don’t you think I’ve already tried that?’ Hermione said. ‘I’m just trying to help.’ Draco said. ‘I know, I’m sorry.’ Hermione said. ‘Maybe if you told her you had your memories back she would listen?’ Draco asked. ‘But I don’t have them back.’ Hermione said. ‘That’s why there is a concept called lying.’ Draco said. ‘I’m not going to lie to her, again, that started all of this in the first place!’ Draco sighed. ‘Why can’t girls just be like boys when they’re mad.’ Draco said. ‘You just give each other a punch and it’s all okay again.’ Draco said. Hermione laughed. ‘I bet it doesn’t always work like that.’ Hermione said. ‘No, but most of the times it does.’ Draco said. ‘So you’re suggesting that I’ve got to let her hit me?’ Hermione asked. ‘Let’s not do that.’ Draco said. ‘Thank you.’ ‘Do you want me to talk to her?’ Draco asked. ‘Isn’t she mad at you?’ Hermione asked. ‘Not anymore.’ Draco said. ‘WHAT!’ ‘Sssssh.’ someone said who was seated nearby. ‘Sorry.’ ‘Why is she still mad at me and not at you! I’m her best friend for Merlin’s sake!’ Hermione said. ‘I think THAT is the issue?’ Draco said. ‘Don’t you share everything with her?’ Draco asked. ‘Almost everything, yes.’ she said. ‘Well, the fact that you didn’t share this with her, that broke her heart.’ Draco said. ‘I know.’ Hermione sighed. ‘And the only thing you have to do now is to solve the problem and be friends again.’ Draco said. Hermione nodded. ‘Easier said than done.’ Hermione said. ‘I know, but you’ll figure something out.’ Draco said kissing her cheek. Hermione gave him a small smile. ‘Where would I be without you.’ Hermione said. ‘Well probably still with your nose in that book.’ Draco said. Hermione chuckled and shook her head. ‘You’re one lucky girl.’ Draco said. ‘I sure am.’ she said rolling her eyes.
Hermione walked through the corridors as she read her book. ‘You’ve got to teach me how you do that multitasking thing.’ Harry said. Hermione looked up and saw her best friend walking up to her. ‘You can’t learn it, you’ve got to have it in you.’ Hermione said giving him a wink. Harry laughed. ‘What have you been up to?’ Harry asked. ‘Trying to figure out how to make it up with Gin.’ Hermione said. ‘And how’s that working out for you?’ Harry asked. ‘Not great.’ ‘Tell me.’ ‘There’s nothing much to tell, every time I talk to her she ignores me and she doesn’t listen. How will I ever be able to make it up with her if she doesn’t listen to what I have to say to her?’ ‘You know, you could tell her you’ve got your memories back? That will make her listen.’ Harry said. ‘She keeps asking me that.’ Harry said. ‘Draco said the same thing, but if you guys had paid any attention, at all, you would’ve noticed that this whole thing started with me lying.’ Hermione said. ‘I don’t think it’s such a clever idea to lie again just to make her listen, when she finds out, and she will, she won’t talk to me for the rest of our lives.’ Hermione said. ‘You’ve got a point.’ Harry said. Hermione rolled her eyes. ‘Good thing I’m up-to-date in this situation.’ Hermione said. ‘Is something wrong though, apart from the whole Ginny thing?’ Harry asked. ‘Why?’ Hermione asked. ‘You’ve been acting a bit strange.’ Harry said. ‘Oh it’s nothing.’ Hermione said. ‘So there is something.’ Harry said. ‘Nothing to worry about.’ Hermione said. ‘Does Draco know?’ ‘Nobody knows.’ Hermione said. ‘It’s the kind of thing that I would tell Ginny.’ Hermione shrugged. Harry nodded. ‘Don’t worry about it, she’ll turn around. I know she needs you too.’ Harry said. ‘I can see she’s about to explode with all that information inside of her and nowhere to go.’ Harry said. Hermione laughed. ‘Thank you Harry.’ she said. ‘No problem, I’ll catch up with you later.’ Harry said. Hermione walked further through the corridors when Harry passed the corner. She hoped Ginny would talk to her soon because she had to tell her about that weird dream. ‘Who dreams about themselves dreaming that their relationship was all but a dream.’ Hermione thought and she passed a corner. ‘I mean come on! Seriously? And Pansy and Draco together? That’s when I should’ve known immediately that I was dreaming, he hated that girl, even before we had to share a dormitory.’ she thought. ‘Hi there beautiful.’ ‘Hermione!’ Hermione turned around and saw Draco coming up to her. ‘Oh hi.’ she said. ‘Didn’t you hear me the first time I called you?’ Draco asked. Hermione raised her eyebrows. ‘Didn’t even hear you.’ she shrugged. ‘And? Have you figured something out?’ Draco asked. Hermione shook her head. ‘I’m still working on it.’ she said. ‘Aren’t you the brightest witch of your time?’ Draco questioned. ‘Doesn’t mean I’ve got the answer to all the questions.’ Hermione said. ‘What’s the name of a truth potion?’ Draco asked. ‘Veritaserum.’ Hermione answered. ‘Which spell do you use when you get birds from your wand?’ Draco asked. ‘Pff easy, Avis and if you use Oppungo it is offensively.’ Hermione said. ‘Which spell do you use to set something on fire?’ Draco asked. ‘Confringo.’ Hermione answered. ‘Am I doing your homework Malfoy? Or are you planning on getting yourself in some trouble?’ Hermione asked. Draco laughed. ‘I just wanted to point out that you’ve got practically all the answers to every single question.’ Draco said. ‘I’m sure you’ve got the answer to your own question too, somewhere deep inside that pretty head of yours.’ Draco said giving her a quick kiss. Hermione smiled. ‘I hope you’re right.’ she said. ‘I’m sure I’m right.’ Draco said wrapping his arm around her shoulders. ‘I’m always right.’ Draco said as they walked up the stairs. ‘You wish.’ Hermione laughed.
